In the scheme of things
Actually the verses
I shall clarify myself more
In the universe or multiverse
What matters the most

What matters the most
Than what you have
In your hands
Perhaps in the bank
If not in the home
What matters the most

Is it the subtle feeling
That warms your heart
As you wake up
Or the unconscious curve
That lights up your heart
What matters the most

Is it the sublime ripples
On the mind that bring
A sudden spring to your move
What is that?

Is it the nest of unseen
You find in the other
I call it connection
This piece is called What is That?
We want to connect, with our friends and family but also with ourselves. Here, I share my reflections on connection.
Kashi Dec 12
Masses mobilizing to the shopping malls
In great insecurity of missing out the sale
Crossing off the lists fervently

Traffic jamming on way home from long work days
Early dawning of nights and time standing still
For the impatient drivers

Missing out on the twinkling of lights
Cheerful music filling the ears
Falling quite short on touching
The minds and entering the hearts

Relaxing in front of the television
Having a cup of hot cocoa in hand
Warmed by soothing fire and wrapped
In a cozy blanket

I am done with the list
By the clicking
On my phone

Merry Christmas!
The holiday season brings out the best, and sometimes the worst, of us. At the end of the day, it is a time to feel connected to our loved ones, however that may happen.

Pearly white flakes
Descending slowly
So slow
The descent
Is mesmerizing

The bare brown
Readily embracing
The cold embrace

Watching the world
It’s awe
Watching me
As the words tumble

Bold and brazen brown
Searching for the warmth
In it’s newly donned
White Snow White
This piece is called Waited So Long. It is a response to a photograph I took of a tree. Winter is coming; all the more reason to find warmth in people and places.
Kashi Nov 27
Grand gratitude hailing its victory
Over the rest three hundred sixty four
At times five, but who’s counting

As it sails across, sowing seeds
To honor the past, leaving warm
Thoughts all across

Gratifying flavors wafting along
Entire family cherishing
Delicious meals cocooned
In the warmth of love
And togetherness
This piece is called Thanksgiving Dream. On this day of thanks, I urge you all to express gratitude to your loved ones.

Where something lives beyond the eyes
What meets the eye, that searches for signs
Of luscious warmth, bred by life
I stand barren and bereft of the obvious signs
Of the living

As I await the season, my season to be
To flourish, to be cherished, to nurture
And be loved, I wait through the dormant
Slumber, dreaming of all that awaits
Tomorrow
This piece is called Where Something Lives. I wrote it in response to a photo I took. Hope you enjoy the poem :)

Is there anything that’s ours
Out there
Wearing the garb of commonality?

Hello, do you hear me?
Is there anything out there
Except the earthians

I’m sending signals
To the outer space
Please respond
If you can hear me

Is there more out there
Other than the vacant planets
Or are they really vacant, I wonder

Quite in the dark, may be
My dark is your light
This piece is called “Intraterrestrial.” We wait for signs. We wait to be heard and seen. We wait.

In my beautiful and sane and autistic mind
I need assurances
I need ardent supports
I contribute more
With my words
Why am I not an equal contributor

Yes
I think the world doesn’t believe except for a few.
That I’m an equal contributor.
Yes absolutely. Money calls the game.

No anxiety bothers me
The recent political events in America are provoking many thoughts in me. Here’s a piece called What Makes a Contributor.
