Do you remember the dusk of our town?
The summer birds nesting above as we rode our bikes.
The trail between our houses, all the distance we’d hike.
Hiding from the heat beneath a canopy of branches.
In our backyards the fireflies with their luminescent dances.
Sneaking out into humid nights.
Along the lake we watch the bridges small moving lights.

It’ll be warm spring soon.
The pink azaleas will be in bloom.
All of our jokes and our laughs, the taste of every blue snowball jumping into leaves when trees faced the fall.
This town is ones home.
The other wished it his own.
All our wasted hours didn’t matter then.
If I could have it back I’d only waste them       Again.

Beside green grass I laid on cold concrete.
Waves splash as the sun sunk into the lake.
The nights sky was empty.
Drowned out by the city lights.
That day was the last of its kind. And this night would be the first of many.
Time was no more as I sat with a frog.
My past was blocked off by the present unknowing of a future that was covered by fog.
Her emerald eyes shined with tears, that thought was stuck in his mind.
Dependence in my eyes died when I had softly cried goodbye.
You flew away while in this town I would stay.

Shifting seas lay within her eyes.

Spirals of aquamarine sit in center.

Sapphires breath beneath deep depths.

Her oceans collide and dance.

Sea foam in sounds sing to the surface.

Vast oceans that can’t be conquered.

Instead embrace the waves of her gaze.

And when the fresh water flows tears.

Ripples of rain reflect bright blue.

But admiration sets sail before you do.

And these seas disappear with the blink of her eye.

Under starlight they sit.
The city towards the south stares straight back.
Between them swayed a dance of lingering smoke.
Quiet talks with similar songs.
Inside the two burns wants and needs.
A want to see.
A need to leave.
But for now they sit.
Waiting patiently waiting.
Dreams about a girl.
Within their minds she resides.
For she is far away.
In another land under a separate sky.
But for now they sit.
Waiting on the day to set sail from home.
Into unknown futures neither would leave alone.
One certainty both knew was true.
Never again would a storm separate the two.
But for now they sit.
Away from worry away from pain.
Love of a brother shared between one another.
People places problems exist now only in thought.
Apart there’s two but together there’s one.
Peace walks through their hearts.
Until the time they must depart.
But for now they sit.
The sun rises from behind.
Above the sky ambitions fly.
A life worth living patiently waiting.
Their first steps forward already taken.
One last peak to reach before.
Their eyes lie upon The New World.
