If you want to walk on water.
You've got to get out of the boat.

I may be poor in wealth.
But rich I am with hope.

Tough times don't last,
but tough people do.

Say I'll never make it?
I'll show you it isn't true.

Be the best in life.
Set pace for history.

The chains have broke off.
Believe that you are free!

Be rich in health.
Let faith give you hope.

You want to walk on water?
You've got to get out of the boat.

I've gotten over depression. Gotten over strife.
But one thing I can't get or take back in this life.

A word after it's said. Spoke what's in my head.
Regret what I did. At any cost I got ahead.

I've fought the good fight. Have clear view in sight.
But two things I can't get or take back in this life.

A word after it's said. Trust after it's lost.
Betrayed and both cheated. Anything at its cost.

Listen,

You can be on top of the world. Flying high as a kite.
But three things you can't get or take back in this life.

The moment after it's missed. A word after it's said.
The time after it's wasted. So stop and think ahead.

Four things you can't recover. No, I make that five.
Learn this lesson please. If you want to fly.

A stone after it's thrown. A word after it's said.
Time after it's gone. Imprint these in your head.

Trust after it's lost. An occasion after it's missed.
Learn this precious lesson. You'll fulfill your every wish.

I see you. Yes, sweet you.
Can you feel my stare?
I often dream. Dream of you.
Just say that you'll be there.

Here's a diamond. You're my pearl.
Here's a rose for you.
Take my hand. Here I am.
I have a crush on you.

Write you poems. Write you letters.
Anything for you.
I dream at night. Dream of you.
Just ask me and I'll do.

I want to kiss. Hold you tight.
Spin your world around.
There's a puddle. Here's my jacket.
Now you're on dry ground.

Hold me close. Feel my warmth.
My heart beats just for you.
You're my space and my world.
I have a crush on you.

I love a rainy night.
No moon and stars in sight.
Anxieties I have.
The rain makes it alright.

I love a rainy night.
When cold and all alone.
The rain disguises tears.
It covers all the wrong.

At peace when I hear thunder.
This may make you wonder.
It's not strange nor am I weird.
It makes my fears go under.

I love a rainy night.
I lay down in its sight.
Take a rest from the test.
This test that we call life.

Going by the book.
That stuff just will not do.
But watching rain eases stress.
I watch and think of you.

I love a rainy night.
I'll take it whenever I can.
I'll take this remedy of love.
Just stay and hold my hand.

I sit there and read the words. I'm sitting in this car.
"Objects in rearview mirror appear closer than they are."

I laugh to myself as I sit and reminisce.
I close my eyes thinking of a deeper meaning than this.

"This," what I referring to is the days of my youth.
I open my eyes to see a young boy in the rear-view.

It's me! Look how young and a bad little thing I was!
Mama chasing with the belt, whipping like she's smelling blood.

I'm now in a kitchen and I see my grandma!
Cooking my favorite, beans and rice, "Come and get it hon!"

I smile to myself and say, "How I do miss her!
When she was alive we use to have so much fun."

There's my cousin! Lampshades on our heads we often play.
"One day you'll sit back and laugh at this," mama use to say.

Look at me jumping off the house! I use to think this was fun.
I'm now saying to myself, "Wow. I was a dangerous son of a gun."

There's the girl who stole my heart! She's truly my first love.
So beautiful looking like an angel sent from up above.

There I am telling "yo mama jokes" with all of my friends.
Drinking like a school of fish, it was the Gin that made us sin!

Now I see me much older now. Marriage is the setting.
Starting to make a family now...this is the perfect setting.

My son is now born. He is such a beautiful boy.
I'm making changes now. No longer life is just a toy.

The joy, achievements and failures of life is like turning the page.
I'm sitting back in amazement of how I've come of age.

I look in the rear-view...all is gone. In tears, in this car.
Objects in rear-view mirror appear closer than they are.

You're hurt. You're broken.
Don't know what to do.

You're scared. Feel alone.
No one to turn to.

I know how it feels. Must hurt before you heal.
The deeper the cut goes, the more pain you feel.

Darkest before dawn. How much this is true!
Tough times don't last, but tough people do.

Rest if you must. Rise from your mistake.
It's ok to bend, but please, don't you break.

You've been here before. So why be afraid?
Believe in yourself. Resurrect which is dead.

Hold up your head. Spread your wings and soar.
You're definitely a fighter. Let them hear you roar!

I know that you're tired. You're feeling so alone.
The end of your rope? Well tie a knot and hold on.

I know how it feels. Must hurt before you heal.
The deeper the cut goes, the more pain you feel.

Seeing crime everywhere.
I look around. I stop and stare.

Don't know what this world's become.
I pray above. Thy Kingdom come.

See that man? He is poor.
But they pass by. They slam the door.

Drugs and crime.
What else is new? ****, war, abortion rules.

Stealing, killing, and false dealing.
Unclean foods prevent our healing.

Don't know what this world's become.
I pray above. Thy Kingdom come.

Hurricane, storm and bad weather.
Takes that much to bring together?

Come on now who are we fooling?
Rebuild it all to bring self-ruin.

See the rich take from the poor.
Have the wealth, but they want more!

I see it all. I hang my head.
Should I give up or fight instead?

Seeing crime everywhere.
I look around. I stop and stare.

Don't know what this world's become.
I pray above. Thy Kingdom come.

Single moms.
Hard at work.
So what else is new?

Working hard.
Through it all.
Your child depends on you.

I see courage.
I see strength.
In doing what you do.

Salute you all
for what you do.
I'm proud of all of you!

To those without.
Lost a mom.
Your heart, it simply breaks.

Missing mom.
Needing mom.
For none could take her place.

Please be strong.
Please hold on.
For this is not the end.

Up that chin.
Hold up your head.
You'll see her once again.

To foster moms.
Those of pets.
Although they're not your blood.

Love them still.
As your own.
Now I call that true love.

To every mom.
What could I say,
but thanks for all you do.

Salute you all.
I really do.
I'm proud of all of you!

If I could, I'd take the pain away and right all of the wrong.
I'd give you what you want. Give to you all that you've long.

If I told you that I love you, would you believe a word I say?
Well it's the truth, I really do. I always prove that every day.

I try to show you that I love you. I often try to say I care.
But words slip away, though in my heart those words I bare.

I try to show  I care for you. Try giving it all my might.
I call you up to say, "I love you" before I fall asleep at night.

I try to do all of the things that a man should say and do.
Believe or don't believe, I know my heart belongs to you.

Always asking if I love you, well just take a look and see.
Look what I've done for you. Will you doubt or just believe?

I write you letters, still you ask. Give you flowers, still don't care.
I give you hugs and my kisses, still you wonder if I'm there.

Call you up, see how you're doing, making sure that you're alright.
Still you ask if I love you; well it's there in plain sight!

Please forgive me, I'm really shy. I hide my feelings deep inside.
I don't have anything against you, all I do is simply try.

Yes, I know I hide my feelings. Sometimes I keep it deep inside.
But I'm always thinking of you. You are always on my mind.

Maybe I do these kind of things to protect my self esteem.
Maybe I do these things to hide the child inside of me.

I don't do these things to hide behind some kind of built up pride.
If I did, I wouldn't tell you that I'm proud that you are mine.

If I could, I'd heal your heart so that you could just believe.
I'd take the veil from your eyes so you could see I do love thee.

Please forgive, I'm made of flesh. I bare my feelings deep inside.
But I'm always thinking of you; you are always on my mind.
