They looked over the hill
Eyes scorched by the heat of the new sun
They knew it was coming, just didn’t know when
But now it had happened
The world split apart on the day of the sun
Humanity’s enemy all along was itself
As centuries of progress are wiped from existence, like an atomic robbery of culture
In the blink of an eye it all turned to dust
On the day of the sun.
Not the greatest but I'm really fascinated by atomic war and how humanity has progressed to the point when it can completely destroy itself.

Sitting alone
Alone with thoughts
Alone with personal anxiety
Loneliness encompasses everything
Happiness is a distant memory
All thoughts replaced with bitter hatred and nihilism
As the thoughts of happy memories fade away like dust in the wind
It’s hard to ignore these feelings in the crippling world of ****
The piercing silence just exacerbates the issues
Thoughts about life and death spin in the mind like a carousel of misery
I ask questions about my place in the sphere of existence
Whether or not it’s all worth it
Whether or not I’ll be remembered once I’m beneath the cold soil of Earth
Then the door rushes open and the cold wind hits me
My catatonic state is broken, the silence is outspoken
I’m forced to continue living a pathetic façade on this cruel world.
