"Expandable Heart"
Islam Marzouk Feb 2019
When I fell for you, my heart chose to expand,
Couldn't contain your grand love, so unplanned.
Eager to put a ring on your hand,
A beach wedding, yellow sand.

Where you step, becomes my homeland,
Honeymoon nights, dancing to a live band.
For now, let's enjoy the moment, until all's planned,
You've always been in the music I've jammed.

Life turned over the day I knew your name,
Never again, it'll be the same.
Love spoke its word, igniting a flame,
Nothing can extinguish a lover's heart, not even rain.

I love the person I've become around you,
A love that lights up both heart and brain, true.
We're the masterpiece, love, the golden frame,
Ravishing around us, under an angel's wing, our love's claim.

Playing our story on a Harp's strings,
Protected and cherished, love eternally sings.

"Blushing"
Islam Marzouk Feb 2019
She's blushing,
And I am crushing.
Feelings explode, an implosion,
Enough to boil an ocean,
Even if it was frozen.

Crack my heart open,
Only "I love her" will be spoken,
Won't stop, even if diamonds were broken.
She's super sweet, in pink, white, or blue,
A week ago, on the road I flew.

In my best mood, excitement subdued,
When I saw you, my soul glowed,
Love coursing through my blood vessels flowed.
Fell for all of you, your smile, good heart, and codes.

What I like about you?
You're comfortable to be around,
Filled with hope, covering from the moon to the ground.
When you talk, love the way you sound,
Wouldn't trade you for a billion pound.

"I Love You"
Islam Marzouk Feb 2019
Millions of poems written, feelings laid bare,
Love not always a necessity, if you're willing to hear.
Consider love a religion, not just a mere notion,
When your heart ignites, a fiery devotion.

Warming feelings pump through your blood,
A seed growing, emerging from the mud.
Soon, you're caught in a "Love Flood,"
Unable to sleep or think, emotions like a flood.

Flowers everywhere, stars turned pink,
Unless you say those three words, break the link.
Agree to love's terms, relax, don't sink,
Your new day of birth, speak, don't overthink.

Hesitant but not lazy, charmed by a lady,
Thinking about her daily, missing her like crazy.
Even sunny days seem a bit hazy,
She's a beautiful, pleasing Daisy.

Ready to tell her, burning inside,
Here's your chance, don't let it slide.
She's reading this now, emotions implied,
Last verse is yours, go ahead, confide.

"Rose Quartz"
Islam Marzouk Feb 2019
You're a beautiful rose quartz with calming energy,
A sense of inner peace, a divine synergy.
Before you, people thought diamonds were god's decree,
A look in your eyes, tanzanite blue open skies, a captivating sea.

You're that pretty pale pink lily that captured my heart,
Autumn, past summer, trees changing colors, a work of art.
Met you, witnessed your glamor, a dazzling start,
Rising from your seat, discussing data rates, a sweet impart.

In that autumn, watered a seed, uncertain where it would reach,
Grew into a lily, through fall into winter, a love to breach.
With it, a desire blossomed, a heart's gentle speech,
Fell for a smile, in the open air, kilometers away from the Nile's beach.

"Every Dream"
Islam Marzouk Feb 2019
She visits my dreams in a gown so divine,
Pearl white, enchanting, like a sparkling sign.
In every night, she looks incredibly fine,
An entwined vision that my eyes can't decline.

Lost in time as I gaze upon her face,
Realizing she's the one, my heart's rapid pace.
In her embrace, destiny and fate trace,
My heart confirms, accelerating its chase.

It takes a moment to gather my wits,
To ask her for a dance, create enchanting fits.
Dancing to Mà Vlast, hands around her waist,
All the moments before her, now gone to waste.

The remaining seconds, all dedicated to her,
Dancing, smiling, laughter, a magical blur.
Jumping like music notes from staff to staff,
From Treble clef to bass, life on pause, epitome of love's craft.

Her cuteness defies all defining laws,
A smile as natural as waterfalls.
Every time she talks in every dream,
Love recurs, a recurring theme.

"First Ring"
Islam Marzouk Feb 2019
After the first phone call, a smile graced my face,
No longer on Earth, but in outer space.
Her sweet, wondering voice took me to a perfect place,
Where nothing existed but her, in a blissful embrace.

Moving on to the third phase, she's adorable in every way,
Anticipating the next few dates, like a fairytale at play.
A symphony of her plays in my mind over and over,
Captivated by her, like a melody from a lover.

Talking to her is remarkably awesome, filled with humor,
Her heart-capturing laugh, a sound that I savor.
She seems sent to Earth on an angel's behalf,
Everything smooth, like midnight's jazz.

Melt into her voice like listening to a saxophone,
Can't wait to get home, grab the phone.
Once she says "hey," flown to the kingdom of happiness,
Not just there, but king on the throne, a realm of sweet bliss.

"Where are you?"
Islam Marzouk Feb 2019
Are you gazing at the stars right now?
Do you miss me as I do, wondering how?
Are you peering into the future, to the day of my vow?
I'm searching for you; tell me how.

Looked in bookstores and concertos with classical grace,
Discussed symphonies for lost loved ones, wars, and embrace.
Scanned every sunset on all shores,
Hoping you're there, enjoying the outdoors.

Have I been in the wrong place all this while?
You're not on the moon, right? Not in outer space, that's not your style.
Finding love is hard, not an effortless grace,
Feels like I'm trapped alone in a maze.

Is it taking forever, not just a life phase?
If you're wondering how to recognize me, I always have a book,
And you, with the key to my heart's lock.
Can't wait for the day to show off when I cook.

Listening to a cover of Tove Lo's "Stay High",
The one that says, "You're gone, and I stay high all the time."
She lost him, and I can't find you; it's a lonesome rhyme.

"Between Lines"
Islam Marzouk Feb 2019
I need you to read between my lines,
In a few steps, cover what could be covered in miles.
I'm sure you'll get it when everything aligns,
But it's not cool making lemonade out of limes.

That's the norm; sometimes you need to go pro,
If this poem didn't work, perhaps vines I'll throw.
Everything rhymes, it's going super awesome,
Let's open up some minds and free them from the blossom.

Around you, I figure there's more to my laughs and smiles,
Life hides other sides, taking you by surprise in its styles.
You bring blue open skies beneath my ceiling tiles,
Love the talks and sarcasm, everything between and within.

Fun is different with you, a twist or a spin,
Smart and funny, you're a perfect ten.
If life was a guitar, you'd be my favorite string,
Strummed, your resonance brings peacefulness.

When it stops, I actually kind of miss,
The melody that's filled with bliss.

"A Fix"
Islam Marzouk Feb 2019
This poem is meant to repair,
Won't just ask you to "cheer up," that wouldn't be fair.
Different symptoms, but it's either the heart or spirit,
Neither could heal alone; together, we'll find the merit.

Hearts crack when rough words are spoken,
Broken by others whose hearts have been frozen.
Luckily, time and distance can heal,
A new heart grows, sturdy as steel.

No need for poems to tell you how to feel,
Once the last traces of ice are gone, the heart will zeal.
If it's the spirit, beyond my expertise' limit,
But call someone you love, talk for a minute.

From my experience, that's a spirit refueling ticket,
I know you'd prefer she was there to pick it.
For now, exploit her skills at their best,
It's a temporary remedy until you're together, no jest.

"Love Birds"
Islam Marzouk Feb 2019
I can see you in his wondering brown eyes,
In the way he moves, breathes, and drives.
Girl, you cover his skies,
Your calls take him to paradise.
He looks adorably resistance-less, to be precise,
With you, he is him, he needs no disguise.
Talking to you, he laughs, smiles, and never fakes replies.
Even when he's around me, he's somewhere else,
To be your perfect man, he excels.
Because, girl, you're his soul, life, and wealth,
You can always trust a guy who has books on his shelf.

And you, my friend, you exist in her smile,
Something in her eyes twinkles when she looks at you.
Saying by her heart, she's ready to step by your side a thousand miles.
Isn’t it cute when she’s jealous of me too?
I know if it was up to her, she would stick you to her by glue.
But seriously, how is it even possible to get jealous of me! I don’t have a clue.

You two are singing a love duet,
And you two sure have bet, Romeo and Juliet.
I am glad you guys met,
Can’t imagine you two with anyone instead.
Just perfect like Peanut Butter and Jam on bread,
So harmonic like when chords go in thirds.
And now I officially give you the title of 'my favorite lovebirds'.

"Easy To Dream About"
Islam Marzouk Feb 2019
Aren’t you just easy to dream about,
With that smile of yours, I cannot doubt.
Are those cheeks made of cherry?
Because I’ve never seen those before, they are not ordinary.
How about those lips, are they strawberry?
The perfect combination of everything, you're just Legendary.
With that hair falling down framing that masterpiece of God, just imaginary.

You took me to another world, literally.
You’re not just someone, that would pass by my life and I would just miss.
Doing all this,
To the guy who is likely impossible to impress.
You must be something special, a young princess with a bless.
You are adorable as it gets,
Soul-capturing like when Beethoven is played by quartets.
Peaceful like when an angel sings,
You're flawless like a Mozart’s concerto of clarinets and strings.
A conversation with you stays attractive however it swings,
Young and alive like violins.

And I guess this is how this poem ends.

Silence,
You may want to talk more or less,
And leave me all day to play the guess.
Yeah, sometimes I am close and other times it's a big mess,
But you’re not just someone, that would pass by my life and I would just miss.
Doing all this,
To the guy who is likely impossible to impress.
You must be something special, a young princess with a bless,
You are adorable as it gets,
Soul-capturing like when Beethoven is played by quartets.
Peaceful like when an angel sings,
You're flawless like a Mozart’s concerto of clarinets and strings.
A conversation with you stays attractive however it swings,
I love when I tease you by throwing on random things.
Young and alive like violins,
Although sometimes you make my head spin,
Being naughtier than any princess ever been.
But unfortunately, I can read you like you were my twin,
LOL but teasing is always fun, whether you or I decided to begin.
Sometimes I wish you were here, to throw you with a pen,
Although I can imagine what you will do then.
But I would still do it again,
Because I am the strong one in this friendship and I’ll always win.
So girl, do not even think about leaving, and ending my spring.

"You're A Smile"
Islam Marzouk Feb 2019
You are a smile, you are the universe!
You’d always go in the right direction, even if the whole world is on reverse.
You’re a million things that I’ll need a lifetime to rehearse.
I have no idea what I am writing in the next verse.
But whatever I write, will be a pint from the oceans you deserve.
From the first game, from the first serve.
I knew you're not from earth.
I don’t need to be smart to know what you're worth.
I lost my breath, and went out of words.
I can put together thousands of poems, but nothing will work.
Trying to describe you is like attempting to stop the clock.
Writing a few poems says nothing, I should write a book.
I was never exaggerating, not even a little bit.
Look for everything you can adore, and she will be the perfect fit.
I am positive, you want to bet?
You name it, chances will always be a hit.
I am sorry, I am still writing for you but I can’t quit.
Why? I don’t know, maybe the few hundred thoughts I have and need to admit.
Things I may have always skipped.
But it’s worth it.
I had to give a hint.
Because in my world, you left an imprint.
Like a piece of candy mint.
Even when it's all gone, it’s still there one hundred percent.
Although with time it starts to go away.
Unlike you, you stay.
You just asked what can you do.
When you just smile, you take people out of the blue.
People can sense when someone is just being true.
In a world, where there is only one of you.
I strongly believe you are capable of everything.
You can touch a cold ice heart, and in a moment it will be all spring.
You’ll have a job that doesn’t yet exist.
Because no one like you ever existed.
I personally can’t limit you to a single title.
You were just perfect in everything I listed.
Girl, you're gifted.
You're holding a bright future ahead.
A rose dressed in red.
Nothing from what you are was hardly said.
Do you want to hear a secret?
You're my idol.
So yeah, I am a big, big fan.
And I've had this question since ever.
With the purest intention.
So if I have your attention.
Help!!!

The cutest young lady, I have ever seen.
If angels had a kingdom, she would be the queen.
Getting prettier every single second, she has a unique beauty gene.
At first sight, you’ll think how did she become so charming at just seventeen.
You’ll wish you were immortal like the wolverine.
Because you’ll never get enough, looking at her is addictive like nicotine.
Your heart starts beating so hard, because of adrenaline.
You wonder if she's an angel, or a girl or a sweet soul in between.
Nothing on her is from real life, she has to be out of a fiction or a movie screen.
Just so natural and true like the tree’s green.
She has the blushing of a rose.
A rose of paradise I suppose.
A rose that glows.
Making all the other flowers jealous and try to copy her pose.
And swing in any way she goes.
And anything down around her, with colors and life, she would impose.
Fabulous like the crystal of ice when it snows.
Just the princess of everything.

She may hide it, but I know for sure that she’s an angel, no doubt.
Like, she makes you wonder why there is a logout.
Why would you choose not to stay around?
She’s adorable and endearing like a white fluffy cloud.
Sounds better than any violin was ever bowed.
Exceeding my brilliance when I code.
As spectacular as the most sophisticated crystal of ice, snowed.
Brighter than the brightest star that ever glowed.
One of a kind around the globe.
Meeting her was the best coincidence ever.
Sweet, pretty, and clever.
Her name should be the unit where beauty is measured.
The scale would go from zero to her name.
All the other girls would be like, micro, nano, and pico on her scale.

Girl, you charm from every angle.
All the cuteness of the world, you can handle.
I guess you were sent from heaven as a sample.
Your smile is a light-bringing candle.
That can light all the way from Vegas to Bangkok.
You had the mystery of my heart unlocked.
Since day one, when at you I looked.
All my feelings and senses were hooked.
My life and being were rocked.
Down off the horse of ego, I was knocked.
Then I flew up high as if gravity was no more, as if the field went to zero.
Because, I found you, my love hero.
Who knew.
I thought that I was destined to live in a torturing loveless hell.
But now that I fell.
How can’t you just love her with every cell.
Falling deep for her eye’s spell.
I know that my eyes tell.
Well, my eyes are just reflecting her magical smile...
I now know that I was created to admire.
Loving like never before.
Love made of warm chilling fire.

Who am I?
And what do I see?
Everything is beautiful through my eyes.
I am random but I am wise.
I am so different from other guys.
I cry through movies.
I like cooking and making smoothies.
Staying at home to read.
And I like cruising smoothly, I don’t like to speed.
I know what a woman would need.
I know how to be sweet.
How to keep up the excitement and the heat.
Keeping life up to the beat.
I deserve more than a girl who just won’t cheat.
Someone who would really love to keep.
I am ensuring perfectness, nothing will be incomplete.
I am looking for a lady, not a girl because I am no boy.
I don’t play with love, because a heart is no toy.

Greetings, Miss Silence, a paradox in finesse,
Dancing between words, a delicate art to address.
In the game of guessing, I may confess,
Closeness and chaos, a nuanced duet, no less.

You're not a passing breeze, a transient bliss,
Investing effort in this, not an aimless miss.

You stand out, a young princess with a bless.

Adorable, capturing souls like quartets play,
Beethoven's notes in your essence lay.
Peace exudes as angelic hymns sing,
Flawless, akin to Mozart's clarinets and strings.

Conversations with you, an ever-attractive fling,
Teasing with randomness, the joy it brings.

Contemplating the grandeur a poet would evoke,
Yet attempts would falter, surrender to the cloak.
No verse captures the entirety she presents,
Her essence, a dream elusive, defying all pretense.

Words falter, inadequate in portraying her grace,
An enigma akin to a paradise's elusive embrace.
Her laughter, celestial, inseparable as one,
Since her inclusion, the laughter revolution begun.

Passion fuels her spirit, a refusal to conform,
In uniqueness, a charm that makes her heart warm.
Serious amidst jest, a peculiar cuteness takes root,
Her affinity for a bottle of coke, a testament to her pursuit.

Twice glimpsed, at party and on a vote's array,
Yet, a second unveiled beauty in a radiant display.
A personality distinct, marching to her own score,
A subtle brilliance, a truth some may ignore.

Intelligence discerns, a spectrum vivid and bright,
For those who falter, shades of grey in their sight.
Immutable, she stands, no mold can sway,
Resilient and vibrant, like colors in full array.

In simple prose, she's a wonder to behold,
Life's palette adorned, a story beautifully told.

Our meeting, a serendipity to behove,
Sweet, pretty, and clever, virtues she strove.

You lost me, love entwined with potential,
Each fragment essential, each sentiment substantial.
Understanding only surfaces when hearts are good,
Repetition of lies, a choice misunderstood.

Apologies fall short, love became my truth,
In matters of the heart, we don't dictate our proof.
Yet, the pain is real, a wound that stings,
Choosing differently, the hurt still clings.

You should have chosen me, each time,
A recurring refrain, a poignant rhyme.
Every heartbeat echoed the same plea,
Yet, the choice was different, not meant to be.

Mending the broken, as time keeps releasing.

Negative feelings, captive and deceiving,
Soon departing, their grip relieving.
My hands extend, a touch gentle and slow,
Your skin, not cold, but a comforting glow.

Sensitivity, a trait relative,
Defensiveness, a stance defensive.
All fine, if it's not offensive,
Harmony sought, not battles intensive.

You're beautiful, the mirror may be dusty,
Its age revealed, a metal frame rusty.
Labels like manipulative, a maneuver's art,
Leaving no scars, keeping hearts apart.

Distance maintained, a choice in the dance,
Being intangible, enriching life's expanse.
Take your space, keep the resistance,
In the realm of existence, find your insistence.

Witnessing her charm, time ticking, tock by tock.

A chapter in our love story's symphony.

"Beautiful"
Islam Marzouk Dec 2018
In your beauty, God, an exquisite tale,
Accelerating inward, your magical spell prevails.
Describing the loveliness with you, I fail,
Once a poet, now words pale.

Living away, it's a hellish swell,
Every moment, missing you, a story cells tell.
Thrown words lost in beauty's endless well,
You, a priceless pearl, and I, your shell.

"Missing Her"
Islam Marzouk Dec 2018
In my dark room, staring into the void,
Without her, a dying flower, unable to avoid.
Life's pause, only her eyes can hit resume,
Tears cascade, aching for her in the gloom.

Her eyes, her smile, cheeks, lips, and laugh,
Warmth and perfume, a memory to grasp.
My soul falters, survival alone a presumed doom,
In the night, a dark planet without its moon.

Adorable in every conceivable way,
Holding hands, attaching to my jacket, innocent play.
Tears as companions, surrendering to sleep soon,
Dreams of her, perhaps, a honeymoon.

"Humor"
Islam Marzouk Dec 2018
My babe's humor, a treasure so dear,
Her laughter, nothing cuter, so clear.
All mine, with her father's approval,
Wishing our meeting had happened sooner.

Love wilder, growing with every word she speaks,
In the same building after a hiatus, emotions at their peaks.
On the bed, thoughts of her, her ring I hold,
Missing everything about her, memories untold.

Breathing love, notes played for the violin,
Not shallow but deep within.
Her eyes, her cheeks, her hand, her smiles,
In the symphony of my heart, love spans miles.

"First Kiss"
Islam Marzouk Dec 2018
Feel it, my love, this celestial bliss,
Since the kiss, my soul's tethered to heavenly abyss.
If this feeling lingers, I'm content to reside,
Flying high, not grounded, emotions as my guide.

Spirit soaring, value beyond a billion pound,
My love, let's go to town, let joy abound.
Round and round, just us, no one around,
Our world, where even sound can't be found.

In your kiss, pleasures of the world unfold,
Let's run away, a house between the clouds, untold.
Living forever with you, no room for doubts,
Our haven, where love forever sprouts.

"Everything Is About You"
Islam Marzouk Dec 2018
The universe dons stars like a celestial dress,
Yet, when it sees you, an envy it confess.
For you are gorgeous, a beauty untold,
Your eyes, pure magic, and kisses, a story to be unfold.

A million years of talk, yet imprecise,
Describing your lips, a poetic device.
When our skin meets, the magic your fingertips create,
A feeling indescribable, love's ultimate fate.

Crafted like a strawberry dipped in chocolate's array,
Glazed with honey, a creation in love's display.
You're my cute bunny, a blend of hot and funny,
In love with you, everything revolves around you, my honey.

"On Her Ring"
Islam Marzouk Dec 2018
In that pink scarf, an adorable face,
Eyes twinkling like stars, a captivating embrace.
Cheeks blushing with the hue of Mars,
Music dances to her smile, the violin, drums, and guitars.

Beyond all beauty bars, she gracefully flies,
A smile, a crown on God's cutest chin lies.
Her touch reached me, to places unbeknown,
Softest skin, a sensation of love well-shown.

The luckiest man, carved on her ring,
My name echoes, a testament to the joy she brings.

"Never Ever"
Islam Marzouk Dec 2018
I'd never hurt you, dear, please don't misconstrue,
I'd rather cease to exist, than bring pain to you.
Never, honey, let go of those thoughts so dread,
Talking to you, a treasure, one minute on our bed.

You're the only one I need, sweet and complete,
My lovely wife, by my side, a love that's concrete.
To love you hard, to love you deep,
Growing our love seed, a promise to keep.

Let it ascend to the moon, perhaps even more,
Honey, it's me, and I love you, truly and adore.

"Chaos Of Boredom"
Islam Marzouk Dec 2018
Wishing the moon would explode, end the day.
Feeling grumpy and low, a mood astray,
The love of my life is near, yet I can't convey.

Stuck and unfair, unable to reach,
To express my love, lessons life teaches.
Nothing else interests, for what else to care,
All energy spent, kisses taken in the air.

Now, just sitting, reading a book,
Interesting to me, but to her, it may look
Dull, my patience overflowing,
Can't take it, the longing keeps growing.

Here for you, not everyone in view,
Sick of everything, craving some amour.
Missing hugs, yearning for a tour,
Time moves slow, the distance I abhor.

I can't reach you, high while I'm low,
Only touching you makes my heart's glow.
Marry me, be mine to the end of time,
Never leaving you, a promise, love sublime.

"Helpless"
Islam Marzouk Dec 2018
Your laughs, pure and childish, a joyful sound,
Living proof, among us, angels are around.
Qualities abundant, let's do the math,
Astonishing eyes, universe's wonder in your path.

You hold a half of the universe's grace,
The other, acting on your behalf, a wondrous space.
Your smile, a reflection, making me smile back,
Love for you, a tag, an unwavering track.

When you fall asleep on your side,
Cute and open, where I want to reside.
In your arms, a comforting hide,
Let's go away, enjoy the journey's tide.

Watching you sleep, something special I find,
Perhaps the vulnerability, a feeling kind.
Lips landing softly, in a lovely kiss,
A moment in time, pure and bliss.

"Beautiful Fantasy"
Islam Marzouk Dec 2018
A beautiful fantasy, now my reality,
Brightest star in my galaxy, your majesty.
Hold on with Jupiter's gravity,
Love me in sanity and insanity.

Loving you with my heart's full capacity,
Adoring each part of your anatomy.
Ask anything, gladly done happily,
In a few months, our love turns to a family.

You'll be all mine, cuddling all the time,
Chilling on a beach, sipping ice-cold lime.
My lady, treated so fine,
Together on cloud nine, our love to climb.

"The Day"
Islam Marzouk Dec 2018
The feeling from yesterday echoes on my keyboard,
Your eyes, heaven's welcome, a melody adored.
Alive in every chord, a higher scale explored,
Joyful memories, each word a cherished sword.

In life's war, your love, my sacred sord,
I'll fight, make you the happiest, my accord.
If I could, I'd buy you the world,
Anticipating our wedding, love unfurled.

An end to distance, a spectacular start,
Experiencing life, a journey to impart.
For our honeymoon, we'll fly to the east,
Every day, a feast, love's eternal feast.

"No Going Back"
Islam Marzouk Dec 2018
No more hearts, sweet loving hearts,
Maybe I should pull back my playing cards.
When it starts, it's a journey uncharted,
Having it from one side, walking alone through boulevards.

Once said, no going back, guards undone,
Fate in lover's hands, a tale begun.
Up high or tossed in the sand,
Three words going grand, heart's expanding.

Remember when hearts danced to the band,
Now cold as ice, can't understand.
Blood no longer pure, love's allure,
Only the lover can move, of that be sure.

Always love, a paradox so right,
Childish, then maturity in love's light.
Love is the poison, love is the cure,
A duality forever endured.

"Life and Love"
Islam Marzouk Dec 2018
Life, a well of inconsistency,
Paradox forming a strange symmetry.
Like Beethoven's symphony,
So unique, just like yourself, so free.

Strong, yet soft as clay,
A heart still mending, a price to pay.
Hurt when he refused to stay,
Or left, perhaps, to find another way.

Maybe love left life fragile and grey,
Sorry if someone played your heart like a fray.
Never fell in love, or fell every day,
In a rush, can't stand the delay.

We only talked for a few hours today,
One side seen, okay?
Super sure, you're a dream,
Walk with pride, love, tough it may seem.

"My Old Music School"
Islam Marzouk Dec 2018
An email from my old music school arrived,
Missing another concert, not feeling revived.
Keening for the first piano, played from my core,
Can't be there anymore.

Missing the feeling of freshly printed scores,
Orchestra setting, violins left, cellos right, on the floor.
The conductor nodding, counting to four,
Memories, a timeline's reminder, galore.

Photo with my guitar on the wall so fine,
Part of that place, a memory that's mine.
My music imprinted, a bit of my soul's design,
Post-class sodas with lime.

Playing in summer, autumn, spring, and in the rain,
As if the clouds heard, playing Chopin, crying again.
Raindrops enjoying our music, on their transient lane,
Instruments, perhaps, missing me, a refrain.

Hard to leave, always a grief,
One more hour, to play there, a belief.
Being naive, it's far away, but my piano is near,
Playing all night, hoping the walls might hear.

"Never Ending"
Islam Marzouk Dec 2018
Eight years have passed, and she lingers in my mind,
Fate uncrossed, leaving some connections undefined.
We didn't make it then, a love confined,
Some aren't simply left behind.

Clear on the first date, good-hearted and kind,
Tried to turn love to hate, a futile bind.
Never succeeding, every attempt declined,
Believing she was rude, but in truth, so refined.

Tried to convince myself she never understood what I mean,
But she was sweet, the sweetest, as it has always been.
Adorable in hoodies, fall's serene,
Charming all in a wedding hall scene.

Her void remains, an everlasting emptiness,
An unbreakable connection, an emotional fortress.
Melt to her perfection, my heart's confession,
Re-firing her affection, a recurring obsession.

"Memories On Scores"
Islam Marzouk Dec 2018
Memories held between the lines of scores,
Cold chills to the core, music's open doors.
Laughs at guitar lessons, moments that implore,
Keenness to times when music filled my essence, a love to explore.

Walls resonating with my presence,
Playing music, an obsession, a lifelong essence.
Drumming jamming sessions, a rhythmic coalescence,
Piano surrendering to accelerando progression.

First show-off to the crush,
Few chords and a wink, making her blush.
A look that can't grasp enough,
Beats on, lights off, into the black hush.

Shut your eyes, turn on music, teleporting back,
Feel warmth in your heart, a familiar track.
Sync heartbeats to the song, a connection intact,
Hold your breath, stay in, before it all goes slack.

"Walked In"
Islam Marzouk Dec 2018
Walked in, saw him caressing her hair,
My heart cried out, firing its desperate flare.
Stepped back, wan face vanishing into thin air,
The love of my life might soon be in his arms somewhere.

The thought gave me a scare,
Messed it up a hundred times with her.
A pinch sweet, a ton of selfish, an unkind affair,
A million careless, love slipping into thin air.

Losing the only true one,
She finds the current state despicable, nothing can be done.
Fixing needs time, she won't wait, it's undone,
Chances diminishing, the heart now weighs a ton.

Forever numb, cut loose,
Left with nothing but smokes and *****.
In the shadows, emotions diffuse,
A heartbroken soul, paying life's dues.

— The End —
