You never noticed,
But I noticed everything about you.
The color of your shirt,
The watch you always wore,
The way your shades rested
Effortlessly on your nose.

I memorized the color of your eyes,
How they shimmered in the sunlight,
How they grew smaller when you smiled,
How you would run your fingers through your hair
Trying to set it right.

I noticed your hands,
The way they moved,
Your silence that spoke louder
Than any words you could ever say.
I memorized you —
Every detail, every stillness.

But what you never saw
Was me.

How I got ready for you,
Choosing carefully what to wear,
Fixing my hair,
Hoping for just one glance,
Just one acknowledgment.

You never noticed
The hours I spent rehearsing my smile,
Or the way my heart raced
Whenever you walked into the room.
You never saw the effort I put in,
The way I tried to be enough
For eyes that never looked my way.

You never noticed
How I searched for you in a crowd,
How my laughter grew softer
When it was meant for you,
How every word I spoke
Carried pieces of you.

You never noticed,
But I did.
I noticed everything.
I chose you in a thousand little ways
That you never cared to see.

I gave effort you never gave back,
I looked for you when you never searched for me.
You never noticed—
But I did.

The one truth I could never confess to anyone who knows me is how desperately I want to be loved, I don't think I could say it. How I want someone to hold my wrists and kiss my palms and smile at me, and want me, More than anything, I want to be wanted. And I fear—how much longer can poetry and songs soothe the hollow in my chest that only being truly desired could fill?....

I love you in verses
in the poetic curses
Ones that are scribbled for you
Ones that are screaming for you
It's a cadence of the melody
won't you hear the beats
I love you in rhythms
In the poetic schisms
In hungers, in thirsts
In devotions, in possessions
I love you insatiably
I love you unexplainably
I love you unapologetically
I love you passionately and
most importantly
I love you hopelessly

She was an empty canvas, a soul untold,
Brushstrokes of dreams, waiting to unfold.
In the gallery of life, a masterpiece in disguise,
Her heart whispered secrets, reflected in her eyes.

Silent echoes of pain, etched on her skin,
Yet, a resilient spirit, ready to begin.
With colors of hope, she painted her way,
A symphony of emotions, in the light of day.

Each stroke, a story, a chapter unsaid,
In the tapestry of life, where love gently spread.
She was an empty canvas, but not for long,
For the artist within, found where she belonged.

Through trials and tears, her portrait took shape,
A resilient soul, no longer an empty drape.
In the canvas of her life, hues of strength and grace,
A masterpiece emerged, in life's boundless space.

They whispered softly, "The art most divine,
Is gazing into one's soul when passions entwine."
To which I replied, with a thought profound,
"In a loved one's eyes, beauty can be found."

A hopeless romantic, I, with self-destructive whims,
Struggles to embrace the love within, lost in dim.
Depressive episodes, a persistent tide,
Yet I dream of a love where hearts coincide.

A wager placed on every chance, "the one" I'd find,
Believing that love could heal a troubled mind,
In my optimistic world, where all can mend,
I hold on to the faith, that love will transcend.

A romantic with an aesthetic so bright,
Manic and passionate, day and night,
Through all the highs and lows, I stand tall,
For in love's embrace, I hope to find it all.

I loved him
Like he loved me.
But,
He loved me
Like she loved him.
Make sense now?
