Perhaps it was all a play.
If one obnoxious day
I decide to walk away,

Will someone hold my hand and say,
“You’re better than this, please stay.”

I know more colors than grey.
I’ve just forgotten to dance in the rain
I’ve forgotten to smile through pain.
I know there’s more colors than grey
So I’ll try to remember today.
P.S. it was a nice challenge to try and make all the rhymes with grey. I encourage you to try it out with any word of your choosing 😊

I broke a glass cup.
It shattered in my feet,
I stared as it fell, for
It didn’t cut deep.

I wanted water,
Just a cup of water
I was very busy
being the eldest daughter,
I ignored feeling dizzy
And kept cleaning.

I didn’t mean to, but I broke you.
You can’t serve water any longer
With a plastic cup I wonder:
Did I crack first—
Or did I become my mother?
It’s not really about a cup. It’s about the glass that was once a cup. When I don’t pay attention to myself, I end up like that. Take care of yourself, and do what you really want ✨✨

If you can still breathe,
It can still happen.
If you can still move,
Keep your pencil sharpened.

If you can see the dark
If you can feel the cold,
It means you still have a heart.
Just— your story’s untold.

Let your wings unfold.

Im not being rhetorical,
Or sarcastic, or philosophical,
Or any fancy, poetic way.
I’m just saying, there’s always a way.
There’s always something you haven’t tried, something you haven’t done, keep on fighting. You deserve all the good things in this world ✨✨

Every day is a new day.
Hours wash quickly away,
They meet unknown bays.
Why can’t we, escape a sky of grey?

Time is like waves
crashing into the shore,
Every minute
It’s funny how I think of the ocean quite often, when I live in a desert. One of the hottest places in USA, AZ 🥲

Tree tops, tree tops,
Air swinging back.
Driving, driving,
Until water pops.

Fallen and dying trees,
who lived to help.
Wood that stands
With sticks as hands.

Hands that stay still,
As you go downhill.
The world follows
This oblivious drill.

Yet you drive and drive
Until water you find.

You’re an evergreen.
You don’t take to survive;
You’re a shelter for life.
If you drive and drive,
I know water you’ll find.
I went camping recently, but we couldn’t find a river. There were so many dead trees, as well as beautiful evergreens and open fields. As always, I came up with something✨✨
