The thrill of it all.
Homosapien Aug 2019
Life is but the blink of an eye,
Death is the real adventure.
I waited years for the thrill to kick in
Years for the scars to fade
Years of just living

Little did I know
The thrill never kicks in
The scars never fade
Not in this life
Not in any life

That, is a blessing only death can grant
That, is a burden only the living can endure
These are mere words penned down on paper
These are a simple description

A prediction of what I wish death could give me
Hope. Hope that death will give me what life failed to
The thrill of it all.
Was it ever there? Or did I just miss it?

Maybe death’s spear will be kind to me
Maybe not
At least then I will have known
The taste of death
The poignancy of loss.

With a single jolt,
With a single charge coursing through my body.
I could be gone,
But my thirst for thrill would still prolong.
I'd really appreciate some feedback :)
