Haunting like an infestation
Lost within a barren wasteland
Who am I?
Tormented by evil within
My soul in clutch of the devil
Toxic words like poison
From a double sided dagger
Festering in our hearts
Putrefying in our minds
Noose around my neck
My words make me jump
Towards calm ends

Please save me
Lying is never worth it. All lies will ever cost you is everything you love. Be truthful to yourself and everyone around you. It feels much better this way.
James Cushman Feb 2020
Crushing black
My mind is fractured and shredded
Vexing pain
When will the torment end
Haunting memories
Thy flesh consumed
Nightmares
Even demons cry
The horrid terror
Dripping down my face
Clawing at my skin
Run...escape
Take my life
My soul is an empty husk
Peel my crust
Brittle and shattered
Such is my time on earth
I can’t be saved
Things will always get better. The night is always darkest before the dawn.
James Cushman Feb 2020
Vanquish the darkness
From within you
Even abyss cannot reach
The beauty inside
The chasms of your mind
Will never fault
Won’t you take my hand
To serine places
Tranquil thoughts bring us
Upon this journey
A nebulous entanglement
Forever intwined
Unto the farthest reaches
Of the cosmic infinite
I will show you
A hue of Colours not seen
Staggering emotion
No masquerade
Of broken thoughts
We are here
If you love somebody, be sure to let them know that. Even on the bad days it’s important to never let go of what you need and love.

Shred my soul to fragments
Take my essence and incinerate
The very fabric of my being
Is wry and deformed
Take a baby and rip it’s spine
I only crave violence
Life is so daunting
Hopeless and bleak
Wishing to expire
Abolish my entire existence
And eradicate the innocent children
Their cries amuse me
The slaughter is not enough
No carnage or massacre
Can save me...

Blade grasped firm
I slash at my flesh
I only see blackness
Darkness encloses in
I am finally at peace
Never give up on yourself.
You matter.
James Cushman Feb 2020
Have you ever gazed?
Upon geometric glaze of frost in a window?
Or into the vast expanse of the diamond shimmers in the blackness of night?
The bedazzling mysteries of the universe cannot compare
Nor the beauty of salmon and amethyst sunrise
A field of rainbow efflorescence
Emotion soaring higher the the tallest precipice
I am lost in her eyes
Lost in the forest of beryl
Passion like white hot intensity of infinitesimal stars
When my life is in a cacophony
She is there to quell the turbulence
She gives me vitality
She gives me fortitude
She makes me walk on air
And I will cherish her eternally
A few nice words for the woman I love more than anything in this universe and the next!
