The beautiful leaves gracefully flow
But sometimes they fall
You go where people want you to go
But then you don’t stand tall

The sun gives light
But it runs from the moon
You give hugs that are tight
But then they’ll make you sad soon

The wind you can’t see
but it's sporadically loud
You let your friend free
But their voice is still found

Flowers grow and extend
diminishing the weeds taunting
You find new friends
And done is the haunting
This poem is about losing a toxic friendship and a new one sprouting, leaving the past behind. It is symbolized and connected through natue.
He was bleak and dark
But benevolent and special
She greeted and made a spark
Bringing light for him to nestle

She warmed his life
And he cooled hers
There was never a strife
Thought forever occurs

He promised stars
But smoke veiled her rays.
She felt behind bars
As he went back to his alone ways

Now she rises, he descends,
Loving but couldn't together be in it
This is how the world tends
So neither one can admit

That she still burns, and he still wanes
But neither look the other way
Even when one rains
They are stained far away
This poem uses the symbolism of the sun and moon resembling a relationship that has failed due to smoking, and the relationship remains separated.

I look for the one with a heart

The one who smiles genuinely at strangers
The one who opens doors longer for others
The one who's humor nothing tops
The one who picks up a toy a kid drops
The one who returns the lost wallet to someone
The one who believes and centers God the One

Not the one without those from the start
I look for the one with a heart
This poem is about what I notice in a man, rather than looks.
