CRASE MEN
CRASE MEN

They are hiding their crase
Democracy it is
But it's not demonstrated
Their crase in obscurity
Pretentious crase men

Dwelling in gigantic villa
Their violent color Agbada
Picking money from the flaws
The masses they prey on
Our needs they scatter for
The people they stranded for

Their hobby is to lobby
They buy us electional movies
They are unpredictable
Make us watch vulnerable movies by crase men
Here we are
Looking like the real crase
They are dangerous
If you see a crase man
Run!

Purpose is defeated
Long time ago, they left the  boundaries
Like an eagle from afar, they sight our mysteries
In the system, they saw mismanagement within
They robbed their way in
They killed their fellow uniform man eventually
And the cycle continues circularly
Civilians pursued
Powers misused
Purpose is defeated

We have formally forgotten those days
When virtues of peace were promoted with violence
When the press were oppressed
When justice was jeopardized
When our constitution was constrained to contempt without conscience
When the scales were afraid of scary blood, but love printed papers
When the beaks of singing parrots were broken
When religious teachers were treated rigorously
Purpose is defeated

Purpose came again
Our uniform men are well informed
But they are not well equipped
A great battalion with good  training
Against that without training
A great battalion with pieces of metal
Against that with powerful machines
Ready but not resourceful
Purpose is defeated

No longer dying for the nation
Lets bring down those rebels
A call of duty to the north
They respond with gallant boots and courage
They respond with pieces of metal on their hands
They respond to a place where many have fallen
Even at that, they fought gallantly
They were made to improvise arms
Purpose is defeated

They return with blood stained boots, hands and courage
Their faces and pieces of metal looking down
They have fought a good fight
But sorrow lurks around our families
Women now widows
Offsprings now orphans
Uncle died as one of them
Father retired as one of them
Pension still on attention, no ease?
Purpose is defeated

Purpose is here again
Retreat!  Retreat!!  Retreat!!!
Fela Kuti sang 'Zombie! '
Check point checking for phone users
****** civilians!  Dont make a call here!
Sheep flogged, goats flee
They get recruited just for revenge
Purpose is defeated

Purpose is here again today
Where natural death is rare
People are killed
People are killing
People are on their way to ****
Cows are chewing crops
Crops are chewing cows
This is not normal!
Purpose is defeated.

NATION AND NATURE
NATURE AND NATION

Compare
The nature of nature
And the nature of our Nation
How eggs break into chicks
And bad wax into worse

Compare
How birds fly across roofs
And how Politicians cross carpet
How winds direct their flight
And how greed divert their purpose

Compare
How birds transport the public sky
And how Politicians transport private air
How birds adapt and  build next
And how Politicians possess and destroys

Compare
The bird called vulture
And the government of the people
How the sky cry when nature insist
And how the people cry when government persist
Compare Nature and  Politics

MEN ON BLACK
MEN ON BLACK

Knight of the printed or paper sky
You pay and sly
They flee when strange bullets fly
You pay or you park
Then credentials be provided in packs
While you delay your dance,
Knights release their fans

They enjoy the song
Required sounds don't play along
Be patriotic, and your journey prolong
Then eventually you belong
No one is wrong
In the innocents they are strong

Abeg, who get Sky for there?
Their just entitlement for a beer
Be nice to them dear
Men on black are your friends
Don't pay then you offend
Bail of gifts exchange a crime legend
This brings a criminal case to an end
While Innocents they reprehend
This isn't what our people recommend
Therefore, we need amend

Obviously, knights buy their own shoes
Hence, who are these fingers pointing to?

When it rains
WHEN IT RAINS

When ponderous rain slap earth like rocket
We envelope ourselves into big blanket
But others lie on the floor without jacket
With water rolling from the roof into their bucket
There they lie close to their wastebasket

Everybody respects the fog
Clothes flee the rope without utterance like a monologue
The Rich man take in their dogs
Lazarus brings out their mugs
Our people go out to struggle in a pirogue

During this rain provision,
There is agricultural productivity to the nation
But if in excess supply causes erosion
Meats added to some pots
Others have nothing in short
Homes hardly purchase maggot

Vote in dry and vouch when it rains
Graduates hustling in the rain
People baptised on ATM queue
Vehicles visit their hospital
Network on vacation
Lives and property at stake

*** holes draw the various maps
The depth and numbers measure our nation's goodness
Wells on our road
Is yours as deep as ours?
Ours never run dry

Leaders ashamed to fetch from it
They splashed it on mama's tomatoes in the market
They splashed it on that prophet's white garment
Look at the road to our schools
Where future leaders learn
Look at the road to a leader's village
The road to Banks, hospitals, churches, mosque, and shrines

Look at that old man carrying it's bicycle
They are splashing it on us
Look at that man with splashy cars and manifesto
Look at him with cups of rice and promises
He is inside his mansion when it rains
Look at your body.

JUSTICE FEVER
JUSTICE FEVER

The Heads have their own desire
Seat round and conspire
Greed rekindle the fire
Never will tire
Until office retire

Injustice is a red wire
***** like vampire
In this crazy empire
Justice we aspire
That conspiracy may backfire

We are faced with gunfire
What they need I inquire
Votes are what they require
And when they acquire
They leave us in barbwire

Justice left for the rich to hire
Justice perverted, money inspire
Justice now misfire
Where are the Esquire
Not just to flag attire
Else, Justice will expire

MECHANICAL
MECHANICAL

The lion of Africa is mechanical
A knock down engine
Left to rust
Producing garbages
Break down to the apex

From one mechanic to another
They always promise to fix it
Get paid and extort us in return
Inflicts more damages
Heaps the faults on previous mechanics

The lion of Africa is mechanical
With quack mechanics
Stealing our tools and equipments
Always seeing a complex fault
At the end of each day

Pleading to fix it if given a second chance
But repeats the same error
When their repair tenure is over
They bring in their kinsmen
To make promises too

Tools and equipments unaccounted for
Where's the employment carburetor?
The infrastructural radiator
The nut of unity
The scale of Justice
The gear for separation of powers
All you political mechanics.

DARK KISSES
DARK KISSES

I see a colour
The colour of tears and kisses
It ought to be transparent
The way transparency in election ought to be
It's a colour as dark as snow

I see dark glittering
But the owners of Nigeria don't
I see dark tears
It ought to be transparent
The way leadership ought to be

I hear the colour eco
In a dark quiet room
From a ******'s eyes
Pouring down gently
Hoping to flood corruption

I see her transparent heart
Growing dark and darker
Pumping a dark blood
Via a ******'s eyes
Touching her green and white lipstick

I see the owners of Nigeria
****** a kiss on her lips
Enjoying the mixture
Dark tears with green and white lipstick
Deceiving her in a dark room

A song for our youths
A SONG FOR OUR YOUTHS

Look, time is swiftly on a rail
Nation in disarray
Youths gone astray
Children like X-ray
Clothes of hope fray

Everyday sound of gunshots
Our sense accustomed to it
As time grow short
conflict didn't realize it
As youthful age get rot

Graduates in bountiful supply
Jobs hidden in their greedy ward
Kept for their unborn to ply
Jobs less than humans afterward
Guns and internet now bread misapply
Rotty bread pushed forward

Tomorrow is our turn for leadership marry
Indeed we need to worry
But no need for the hurry
Leave the rail and let's create a lorry
Else the nation be in a sorry

The first victims
THE FIRST VICTIMS

Walking back on triple feet
From where newspapers float
They sit down forming a nations map
Where tumblers hit the table
Like a bullet sound from Plateau state
The table bearing dry gin and cigarette
The altar of the discussion
They talk sorrows and smoked it to the gods
the gods they pour dry gin to
To get high and hear the people cry
They are the first victims

Their memories still in tact
Their veins stretch and faces rumpled
As they open their mouth
It bled painful events, dates and names
Deep dates like 1914 and 1967
Others few years ago
Too many to remember
Names upon names mentioned
They called today's date too
With terrifying events
Some yet to happen
By tomorrow we will be old too
They mentioned the second victims

FAMILIAR STRANGERS
FAMILIAR STRANGERS

My heart drifts
It pounds hurriedly
I wasn't running
I hear yours too
Beating faster than her shadow
Then I realise
We are adorn with bait
Always running from Predators

Yes, men are no longer taken across
Adorn with heavy necklaces and bracelets
On pants into Titanics
Like modern day fashion
Accompanied with wine from their eyes
They drank to stupor
With whips sounding like applauds
A continuous jubilation

Baited by strangers no more
But the strangers left their culture
Together with their ornaments behind
Invisible ornaments
What an inheritance
Our own now strangers
Our own now prey on us
Even in our Father land
Another jubilation
I thought it was over

A Token
A TOKEN

The word kept ringing
Water! Water!! Water!!!
It flows ones in a while
Patients hustle for water
They smell like prisoners

I thought water is free!
It's now a cost gift of mankind
Make a Nurse smile
With a little token

And win the award
The bucket of water award
A special bathroom award
A special toilet award

But for those without a token
Visit that thick bush
To answer the call of nature
Patients stake their lives to ease themselves

Wish to use the rest room ?
You need two buckets of water then
One for your self
One to partially clear the arena
You cannot clear it all
safe it for drinking
use the natural toilet.

QUESTION
QUESTION

Do you know?
That there's a world?
In this same world?
Looking like another world?
That there's a sick world?
Where people barely say a word?

Do you know?
People lie all day?
Spooned all day?
They admire legs that smash the floor?
Hands that could glide ?
Some cannot afford the hospital ward?
That some left in the process?

Do you know?
We are using the same clock?
That they ought to be with us?
Making a difference too?
That their hearts complain?

Never a day without tears
Grease of smile can be applied
With our presence
With our presents
With out prayers
Do you know?

DISTINCTION
DISTINCTION

We complained
As we were demarcated with colours
We called the situation big big names
Preferential treatment were dished
Black muds all over our body
We were served black bananas for it
We were tagged 'Black monkey'
We all felt gloomy

We complained
As another set of colour rise amongst us
They bleached their buttocks
To look different from the rest
They tagged others by 'tongues'
They claim ownership of the national cake
What about us?

We complained
They should be buried in Pluto
A special cemetery
In a special 12 feet grave depth
A special after life
So that we don't corrupt their bodies
As they tagged us different
