If I Was
Flicker Jun 2014
If I were naked
it would be different
flaunting my body
being naughty
a being
only physical
people would see me
and drop to their knees
just because I am beautiful
let me capture your eyes
but not your love
for I am only physical

I am mental
a dreamer inside a dream
the hero to the story
a beauty when the outside is boring
the subtle collapse of darkness
tears when the rain is pouring
killer stalking your heels
a sunburst laughing
the one who catches you
faceless I hold you
caressing your hand
I am the love
your light
the one who matters
when the world goes blind.

My Darling
Flicker May 2014
Write me a story
sing me a song
listen my darling
trees whispering along
hold me tight baby
let me forget
the sweat on my brow
the pain in my chest
silences serenading
love holding me back
bless me with kisses
save me from death
comfort is fleeting
how fast the days pass
please love me swiftly
hold me quick
for in the end
we are the beginning
we are the end
simply living till death

The Closest We Could Get
Flicker May 2014
The part that got me the most
was the way he held me
and his lustful tones

he told me he loved
every lock of hair
upon my auburn head

the way in which
these hands fell
to their side

when I felt
my soul
swim in my stomach

watching him grow
into the man
I now know

our future
leering and taunting
us, only a few steps ahead

I hoped that our
cunning and partnership
would bring us closer

to what would be
a dreamed up world
of perfection

but the closest
we would ever get
to heaven

would be enraptured

in each

   others arms.

16k March
Flicker Jun 2014
Rain fell from the stars
as muddy ACUs marched
hoping the 16k stretch
would be be at its end
the ache in their hearts
only comparable to their feet
their pain numbed by sleepiness
unfocused and stumbling
some dreamed of their families
a scream of the DS
left them phased and alert
a single soldier looked up
hoping for stars
clouds obscured his view
nearly as blurry as his own eye sight
he thought of the end
of how his trek
had begun
a worried young man
who put duty before anything
he had become what he wanted
a soldier someone
who could be looked up to
no longer just a shadow.

Cradling Bones
Flicker May 2014
The dead
risen and reborn
given a body
bloodied and worn

howls sheltered
thunder gathers on the coast
hunters blend among the fallen
cradling a quarrel of broken bones

double-barrels whisper
powdered regrets and heat
falling on the deaf ears
who lost their souls in the unknown
Do not steal...such and such

My Sweetheart
Flicker Jan 2015
If you would let me catch you

I could save you

sweetly and safely cradling you

in these empty arms

The Affliction
Flicker Jan 2015
An ire never witnessed
a symptom never shown
the affliction consuming
in unfathomable hunger
destroying virtuous hearts
leaving a bitter trail
of shattered bones

Reality
Flicker Jan 2015
I'd give up everything
just to make you content
but it isn't my fight
or my gift to give

You gave up everything
without even looking
or acknowledging
what others would
give for you

We gave up
because we thought
we were selfless
but reality can lie
to you

I Know
Flicker Jan 2015
I know no fear in his arms

I hear no harsh words from his mouth

I smell no threat from his clothes

I see no violence in his eyes

----------------------------------------

I know love because of him

I hear kindness in his word

I smell only his sweet musk

I see my heart in him

-----------------------------------------
I know nothing of him

I hear not a single noise

I smell memories of us

I see my world become still

---------------------------------------
I know fear because of him

I hear him tell me of my weakness

I smell insecurity from his clothes

I see only hate in his eyes

------------------------------------------
I know love because I believe in me

I hear my strong heart beat

I smell the anticipation in the air

I can see a future only I can meet
