******.
One of the many things "thoughts and prayers" cannot reverse.
We're living between the lines of a song.
Constantly listening,
trying to memorize,
but never learning the lyrics,
despite the replays of each verse.

I left the house this morning forgetting my goodbyes,
Not knowing I will end the day looking into death’s eyes.
Running away despite my parents cries,
Forgive me.
Wrote this piece sophomore year of high school and I don't even think I understood the gravity of the meaning. Running away from a home that was always safe to ultimately never go back.. "Death's eyes" was a metaphor for an internal death, not a physical one.
