After all is gone

Do we stay

Do we linger on this planet

To die another day

Do we wait upon these secret angels

To kiss us while we sleep?

Or do we choose to trust ourselves

The secrets that we keep

It's not my job to fill you in

Nor keep you out of mind

But If you look even deeper, then

Imagine the darkness you'll find

A dark so deep it drains the soul

Of all light and happiness

The darkness lives within you and me

You just haven't found it yet

This is for you.

The girl hiding in the corner.

Waiting for the world to change.

This is for you.

The one who feels invisible.

Wishing to be noticed.

This is for you.

The beautiful girl who thinks she's ugly.

Using makeup and starvation to edit yourself.

This is for you.

The boy going through more than anyone can imagine.

Waiting for the pain to pass.

This is for you.

The one who thinks the models in the magazines actually look like that.

Trying to copy their photoshopped bodies.

This is for you.

The girl who's being abused.

Too afraid to tell anyone what's going on.

This is for you.

The one who wishes they could go unnoticed.

Being pointed out for every mistake.

This is for you.

The one who feels the need to harm yourself.

Hoping it goes unnoticed.

This is for us.

The ones who have felt alone.

Just waiting for a friend to come along and rescue us from this hell.

Where have you gone?
Are you away?
Is all this pain left here to stay?

What can I say?
What can I do?
What do I even have left to lose?

You've stayed away.
You won't even talk.
You've ripped out my heart with your claws, like a hawk.

The time we've spent
Has wasted away.
And my brokenness is left here to stay.

Things we see but never know

The spring, the flowers, about to grow

The nice things we notice but don't understand

About their opposites, and things they command

Where there is life there soon is death

Listen, and you will hear it yet

The flower here now, soon will wilt

The beauty you see, soon turned to silt

But we deny these little things

We choose to ignore the mournful rings

Of sorrow deep and sad fulfillment

Wishing they were something else, different

For everyone born, one soon after dies

Their red of blood soon paints the skies

We love the beauty that we see

We ignore the pain and suffering

The people gone, we push away

We choose to wish that we could stay

Here forever in this land

Though death shall soon take you in it's hand

We wish to live but can't forever

This life is pain, a treacherous endeavor

Yet we wish to be here in this place

Instead of ashes in a vase

Wouldn't death be so much easier?

Then this life of pain, so much breezier

You may think I'm depressed, and so may be

But you can't judge, for you don't know me

Or anything I've been through or thought

Or of the people I have lost

So let me be with my poetry dear

And let me wish that I could hear

A soul who thinks of the things we miss

Instead of pretending to live a life of bliss

If we live life to die

Then why does it even matter?

We are told that happiness is the goal in life.

But there is no eternal happiness.

People still leave.

Anger still burns bright in our hearts.

Problems don't disappear.

They only get worse.

There is no way to stop it.

The threat of death is immanent.

You could die tomorrow.

What would your regrets be?

There would be so many in my case.

They say live for now.

But living for now is pointless.

Now always ends.

There is no escape.

We can't get away from it.

There is really no point to living this life.

So why do we make such an effort out of it?

We put up such a struggle to save our own lives.

But we're about to die anyway.

So tell me.

What's the point?
