Clouded by knowledge
Hidden by love
Small and trembling on the verge
of breaking
Pulling up tight against the onslaught
That is sure to come
Fingers that ache
Lips that are pale
Voice an inaudible whisper
It pounds like the waves against
the shore, crashing
Scattering pieces
Of what once was

“Quietly she waits

Waits for life to catch up
To dreams;
to memories
,
To her heartbeat
She wrestles with demons

Pulling her further into darkness

Leaving her to crave and to desire
Silently they come

Without warning
tears, warm, wet
Salty.

They taste of longing
of  need, of conflict
Conflict within herself
Quietly she waits.....
