Young Puppet Master
Eamonn O'Connor Aug 2019
I was born into a family full of love and care,
A normal looking family, mum, dad, Sean and Claire,
The memories are happy, full of joy and laughter,
But as I grew older, I became the puppet master,
I learned to stay hidden, grow my own strings,
Little did I know, Id be the one to mend broken things,
I liked to play and be involved with ye all,
But when things kicked off, ye forgot I was small,
At first I ran, so I wouldn’t have to see,
But then I saw ye actually needed me,
I would take out my strings, attach them to ye,
Then calm it all down with my smart puppetry,
Ye all seemed so solid and strong,
No one acknowledged sometimes things went wrong,
Ye would forget the fights and random explosions,
This family at times, like others, was broken,
I try to stay away from all the eruptions,
To keep my distance so no one could notice,
All the strings, I have grown for all our protection,
Ye may never know how important I was
But those strings on yere backs were for a good cause,
I grew them to help us survive and stay connected,
Ye will never know of it, never detected,
But at times the puppet master kept ye protected.
