It was no great loss
I was in pain, I knew of greater pain, I wanted pain
But the hunger of man came with an emotional grip
I was not there to heal, I was not there to hear
He said I didnt deserve that
He said you must take your own virginity
I said rip it from me
Truth be told my body had been seen, had been used
strewn out on the chairs of a church, left uncovered.
Carnage had begun in front of an altar, so pure, so clean
I thought it was a lesson in war with a mother's love
She took from me what men took from her.
She gazed at me like I could be a child no more
She said it was protection.
Maybe that's where it starts
Maybe thats why
there are no artful words for what I wanted
and what I got
