Take one and it began
I went to a brook to chill
So that I could just stand still
It was a brook with a beautiful view
standing meditation
It’s what I’m here to do
A view from a very old mill
A small shale cliff rises from the stream
Still the water looked so clear
and the sky was truly blue
Still were the trees until along came a breeze
gently blowing right through
The freshness made everything new
the canopy begins to awake
as leaves in the breeze do flutter and shake
the trunk stays still and all the leaves all quake
Take two this is true and they were keen
Along came a caravan of stoats to the ravine
A beautiful scene that was fit for a queen
So serene if you know what I mean
Some stoats swam right into view
and some stoats did some diving
All the stoats were handsome things
and they looked like they were thriving
Some stoats went potholing
some stoats had a climb
Some stoats played at brawling
it looked like they had a good time
tumbling and falling
crazy crazy dancing
Some were busy preening
ready for romancing
Not one stoat got to see me in my stillness
But I got to see them all excelling in their silliness
After half an hour I felt really really blessed
As I got to see a pack of stoats looking at their best
Take three from under the rowan tree
My arms and legs were aching
especially my knee
So I had to move
And made it my mission…
Tried not to scare the stoats away
gently change position
To do it real slow so I didn’t stop the show
The excellent exhibition
follow my intuition
A very slow transition
so as not to cause suspicion
They didn’t see me move
so steady slow and smooth
I flow getting in the groove
of strength and calm you know
So as I held my new position
Just like a jungle physician
The mother stoat froze in a pose
She was all ears eyes and nose
checking the wind and the way it blows
I stayed still and silent until she lost her suspicion
Although she is the hunter
with so much competition
Such as talons beaks teeth or claws
Off the foxes cats or even hawks
Yes in nature thats the way it goes
She’ll be on the lookout for anything that gawks
Take four it is hard to ignore as the family explore
So back to the pack thats is bounding about ….
if she goes for a swim she could maybe catch a trout
If she goes underground she will surely scout out.. any rabbit…
and I doubt she will not try to chase and grab it
If she come back up there looking for a hare
Hare beware because the stoats surely dare
They got the flare and they’re very cutely aware
If you ever see a stoat they won’t let you stand and stare
I was so lucky fourteen years ago
Because of meditation
I got to see the show
