Upon the wings of angels I flew
The world below falling from view
Faster, higher the pace hastens
Forward onward, towards creation
The light intense, inviting though
Too bright for some who fall below
Their fate too hard for one to fathom
Darkness awaits in earths chasm
But one cannot chance a look back
If one hopes to keep the soul intact
On judgement day to dare repent
The best foot forward must present
To turn back now would lose the chance
Of all the heavens song and dance
My eyes peer up with courage and fear
The sound of harpsichord I hear
Nearer now the brightness deepens
A faint shadow of doubt creeps in
Forge ahead, the time is now
The gates open, entrance allowed
Rushing through in case they close
feathered wings flutter and flow
Gently lower me to the ground
I step off slowly and look around
My heart is bursting with wonder and awe
To be welcomed here with all my flaws
I prayed for this joyous day to come
To meet the Holy Ghost, father and son
wings whisper their last goodbye
On their trust I never denied
Final stop not taken for granted
Alas the last flight has landed
