Eye of the Ice
Eshua May 2019
A land goes forth once known to man,
His hearty agreement with winter's hand,
The frost mobilizes into blizzards of hail,
The feelings of humanity grows cold and frail,
The ice creeps in the statues of gold,
Sensing memories of honor in its hold,
During three months it gives its dire best,
To place strength of man through trial and test,
When all is done and time's taken its toll,
Man will emerge again, for the taxes are in
full.

My horse chuckled,
swaying this way and that,
expecting to travel
through the frozen flat,
but the reigns turned right,
to travel the woods,
My partner neighed and slacked
but than understood,
a runaway man and
an outcast horse,
found by a man in the woods,
This man in a hood spread out the sun,
made stars give their lightened fun,
though the people with torches and stakes,
they were the ones with the final mistake,
freedom isn't free,
they were given a price,
while this hooded man made it right,
the man and the horse fought the good fight,
gone as they were, into the night,
the war was fought, the war was won,
the human gave his horse his last final words,
and the horse gave its human its last nudge forwards,
that night they slept, the ice over them leapt,
as each together let out their last breath.

____________

Swiftly now child, you will see them abound,
leaping over rocks waiting to be found,
but you must swear to never tell,
that man is me, and that horse is my Bell ~

Ice Pheonix
Eshua Mar 2019
A frozen Phoenix of wind,
wings ablaze from limb to limb,
its ashes creep into a chill, a twinge,
No comfort here, no home, no inn

A frozen tundra of sea,
a delicate feast for the eyes to see,
slowly and gentle it rocks the boat,
but ice is traveling while something's afloat

Chills
Eshua Feb 2019
Dismal cold flying from coats,
from every seat inevitable chill gloats,
a single breath makes my veins ice,
curse this air its worth summer thrice.

Untame
Eshua Feb 2019
Out in the wild?
I feel the ignorance,
When exhausts scream,
An animal dies again,
A bear protects its cub,
And a wolf its puppy,
But even they mourn,
For a human baby,
So lost from its mother,
And destroyed by its father,
It counts itself among
The stars.
Now next time you say,
The dog must go,
The lion will ****,
And the indians will stone,
I will show you to realize,
Humans are the most untame,
The mother nature will get.
