Repetitions and sets to look your best
Taking pauses in between to give your body rest
The machines and dumbbells clang and clash as you complete your last exercise

You bench press in time to the rhythm of my heart
I know my routine but confused as to where to start
I can’t help but stare and stare for too long as I admire your beauty and form

It’s always a question of confidence and fear
Will I walk up and chat or stay afraid to be near
At times I surprise myself, maybe this will be such an occasion

I know that the fear is all in my mind
As there will come a day where I will find
That after all this time you were waiting to talk to me too

I think I’m good at filling the space. I am not a presence in itself but more so like a liquid, filling the volume of all that is left. Filling in the blanks. And I think that’s what people love, appreciate and connect with the most.

In a world where everyone has or is making their mark, there are those of us who are praised, for filling the space. And what a prestigious title that is. For everyone in their own assertiveness and dare I say, arrogance, there are those of us who find content and purpose in connecting the dots so to speak. Filling. In. The space.

The pursuits or goals you ascertain, one day to find they’re all in vain
You try and keep trying, crack a smile when you feel like crying
For all the riches you attempt to attain

You make a few mistakes and for judgement that’s all it takes
You try and keep trying, crack a smile when you feel like crying
For peoples opinions make you pump the brakes

But still you take the chance, to view life at more than a glance
You try and keep trying, crack a smile when you feel like crying
To escape this matrix induced trance

Now you’re on the other side, filled with joy and love where once was pride
You try and keep trying, crack a smile when you feel like crying
And enjoy the remainder of the ride
