Last Dance in Vienna
Camille Apr 2021
Blended, faded in
Consumed
I held all your love
Its sweet, heavy caress
Floating luminous, blessed
With its tail dragging the sea
Held it till the misty eve
You said goodbye to me
And we danced in Vienna
Our farewell
In that great, dusty hall
Of silent chandeliers
A thousand mirrors’ memories
And dried Hyacinth on the floor
Wondering from floral graves
What my tears were for
As, where death cannot take the past
We held one to another, and danced our last
There in Vienna

Take Me to Spain
Camille Mar 2021
Darling, tell me again about Madrid
Towers of Córdoba
Or the Andalusian moon
How you know my spirit’s there
And that you’ll take me soon
Tell me again
All about Spain
Land of crystal tambourines and pristine shores
Beauteous hearts and ancient sores
That shoulder where death comes to cry
When the wind rises with a longing sigh
To the skirt of Preciosa
Una cosa tan Hermosa
Oh, my love
Take me to Spain!

For Kevin
Camille Mar 2021
Sometimes, Kevin,
When you sing of love, Hyacinthe, and rose,
You lose me in the beauteous clamor of perfect prose,
Grappling for that which you would convey
With praise for you enduring, bidding me stay,
Where my lips part to say,
Regale me, Kevin, make my soul to feel ‘n see
Past the sphere of an English Lit degree,
Into your world of placid fairies, golden-blue haze,
Framed with critiques, all singing high praise
Not sometimes, but always,
For Kevin
