No More Words
Robert Mullin Jan 2019
So many words have been said before,
So many thoughts will be repeated evermore.

Sunrise’s warmth may touch our hearts,
Illuminating hope for the shaping day:
Sunset’s dark may foretell the gloom,
Of a loved one lost, transformed in clay.

There is nothing new in heaven or earth
As we grow each day in endeavor’s dream,
Words that say I love you,
Convey exactly what they mean.

Read these words tomorrow
And in ten thousand years,
Understand that compassion will endure
When words overcome our tears.

Observe beauty with an inner eye
Which cannot be described,
Its magic should never be left to die
But be in our heart’s inscribed..

No more words; yet hear my soul crying,
For the lost and suffering’s pain,
Oh, that man’s compassion will prevail,
Over his self destructive reign.
