So Blunt you can smoke my truth
Black men locked up while in their youth
For an ounce or a half, Nickel or a Dime
Incarcerated wantonly, Healthcare was their crime!!

Healing is stealing or so they were told,
Daring to hustle, meant they were too bold
****** or coke, was reserved for those white,
Probation or counseling, made everything right.

A Blunt smoked the truth, a cops gun was the pipe,
The bullets were free, only we had a gripe!
A voiceless Nation, of Negroes unwanted,
A media circus, made sure they were taunted.

Medicinal value would then change the game,
When White you are right, while minority's stayed the same.
Convictions remained, we could not understand,
The Truth spoke the Blunt, revealed their master plan.

Divide to conquer, they're way too big for britches,
Separate then impregnate, their gullible black *******!!
The Blunt Smoked Truth, cathartic at best
No One left to listen, downtrodden while at rest!!

I know why!
Frustration when you're stuck in traffic
Nothing has meaning, safer being stoic
Food costs keep rising
Leaving us clueless--now we're surmising
I know why

I know why
Stopped by the cops for no reason
Same cop? Just a different season
Fruit and veg. Rotten in two days
Is the farmer at fault, or this the new way?
I know why

I know why
The Medication kills faster than the disease
Doctor knows best!! People please
Plight after plight, it never seems to end
Family getting on your nerves, no more best friend
I know why

I know why--
The caged bird Sings, with joy in his heart
The prisoner freed, doesn't want to depart
I know why

I know why
The ends just don't meet
Dollars don't stretch, and sugar not sweet
I know why

I know why
The meat is infected
The elderly not respected
Husbands and wives feel rejected
Kids are purposely neglected
I know why

I know why
You reach for the gun,
The pain killers are the pun
Those left behind seem stunned
While your cold lifeless body is no longer shunned
I know why

I know why
Then I Don't know why!!
It makes me sad
It makes me cry
Still I know why.....

The rising of the sun each day, signals a new beginning,
From birth to adolescence, extending to old age and hair thinning.

When it sets for the close of day, it's beauty has no parallel,
At night while we sleep, the moon lights the path, while causing our oceans to swell.

The Sun and the Moon, daylight and darkness, oceans with waves that must crash,
A simple equation, that reflects all our lives, anything else, is nothing but trash.

A mother gives birth and happiness reigns, like the rays of the sun springing forth,
Excitement abounds, A new day has dawned, this life has no match in its worth.

Darkness descends like a thief in the night,
Confusion abounds at each turn,
Friendships castrated, lovers rebuked, its safer to light them and watch as they burn.

Destruction of self and the turmoils of life, they swell like the tide as it rises,
We wait for the crash, because all waves must break, regardless of difference in sizes.

Stop for a minute and think of the magic, guidance both day and at night,
A radiant Sun, majestic the Moon, an ocean of food no matter our plight.

Each and every one of us, must travel the path ordained,
Some are good, others indifferent, while some are so bad that they stain.

Regardless of the one you've walked, commonalities yet exist,
An open mind, and forgiving heart, attracts goodness no one can dare resist.

Apples and Oranges, Figs and limes, opposites beyond their true nature,
Yet purposeful they are, necessary for us, who cares of their difference in stature.

Forgive me for my ranting, it may not make much sense, the lines seem like many, yet they barely skirt the fence,
Look beyond the obvious, peer through the blinds you wear, decipher what seems wrong to you, Investigate pretense!!
