NATURE'S ANGER
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
Nature’s getting angry
And the signs are there
For all of us to see
So mankind beware

But does Man really care?
Yes, he does care; but only about himself.
He is not bothered about how others fare
All he is bothered about is transient power and pelf

Nature’s getting angry
For we have molested
And ***** her bare
Until she lies neglected

But does Man really care?
Yes he does care; but only to satisfy his desires
He is not bothered enough to spare
All he wants is fleshy fissures

Natures getting furious
Earthquakes, Tsunamis, volcanoes
Tell us things are serious
A portent omen of what follows

But does Man really care?
Yes he does care; only about saving his own skin
He is not bothered enough to share
All he wants is to wallow in destruction and sin

Natures getting overwhelmed
But does God really care?
Yes he does care; that’s why he does us spare.
And shelters us for we are his beloved.

MY STEADFAST LOVE
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
Go take a flying ****,
Get ******* by all,
Even a duck
But remember my fall
Is not the end
Of my love
Which will neither
Wither nor bend
I apologise for the vulgarity but this was written in a fit when I came to know that an old flame had moved several times over to other Men..... Sorry...

THE INDIAN GIRL CHILD
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
The Girl child wanted to do things differently
But Papa wouldn’t just let her be

The girl loved classical music so resounding
When she was eight years old
She wanted to learn and practice singing
But Papa refused and he did scold

The girl loved classical dance
When she was ten years old
She wanted to learn tantalizing dance
But Papa considered it an art of harlots old

The Girl child wanted to do things differently
But Papa wouldn’t just let her be

The girl loved the guitar
She found it cool and fine – sounded sweet as wine
She wanted to play the guitar
But Papa felt it was a waste of time

The girl loved writing poetry
When she was eleven years old
She did write her first piece of poetry
But Papa couldn’t appreciate and was cold

The Girl child wanted to do things differently
But Papa wouldn’t just let her be

The girl entered a competition in poetry
At her school during the same year
She knew she did have a talent for poetry
But Papa felt education would suffer

The girl wanted to learn painting
And so saved money to buy water colours
She had both talent and longing
But Papa’s writ over all still towers

The Girl child wanted to do things differently
But Papa wouldn’t just let her be

The Girl wanted to dance at her school’s annual Day
So she practiced hard to be the principal dancer
She hoped she could have her way
But Papa was more destructive than a Cancer

The Girl wanted to study fashion designing
After she completed her high School
She sought her Papa’s permission and blessing
But Papa wanted her to study Law which she didn’t find cool

The Girl child wanted to do things differently
But Papa wouldn’t just let her be

The girl is now a full fledged adult
No more a girl but a very beautiful woman
She wants to be treated as an adult
But Papa is indeed a stubborn man

The girl has written more than four hundred poems
And many more lovely short stories too
She wants her Papa to appreciate her poems
But Papa doesn’t even know that his girl can write too.

The Girl child wanted to do things differently
But Papa wouldn’t just let her be

The girl turned woman started attending music classes
Without anyone knowing she had mastered the art
It was said her voice was much better than the braying masses
But Papa never knew the difference between a note and a ****

The girl stealthily attended a school for traditional classical dance
She was so good; her teachers wanted to nurture and promote her
She was flooded with offers to dance free lance
But Papa  didn’t recognise her talents nor encourage her

The Girl child wanted to do things differently
But Papa wouldn’t just let her be

The girl turned woman has turned twenty six now
But Papa will still check the messages on her phone
He tells her he is doing it only out of love
Even if she does in despair cry or moan

The girl turned woman is working now
But Papa expects her to be in bed by ten
He will tell her what to eat and how
As well as what to do and when

The Girl child wanted to do things differently
But Papa wouldn’t just let her be

The girl turned woman is most misunderstood
Her tastes remain unknown and her likes unimportant
Never once did Papa even try to learn her favorite food
For Papa’s wishes were more important.

The girl turned woman is not permitted to make any decisions on her own
Papa chooses her car just as he does her friends and her life partner
She can never go out unescorted by family into the town
But yet no one can tell her to rebel or make her

The Girl child wanted to do things differently
But Papa wouldn’t just let her be

The girl turned woman is not even allowed to go alone to the Temple
For she is made to agree that only Papa knows what is best for her
This girl has been conditioned to be meek, submissive, docile and gentle
For Papa choose everything for her; even from school bag to life partner

The girl turned woman cannot come out and be independent in this world
No one even knows that she has a little heart and someone else lives there
But whatever it is she still loves her papa more than anyone else in this world
For she doesn’t want to break her Papa’s trust in her.

The Girl child wanted to do things differently
But Papa wouldn’t just let her be

A TRIBUTE TO WOMEN
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
Be proud to be a Woman
for a Woman has greater inner strength than a Man.
Women are worthy of worship
Since they fulfill diverse needs and roles in a Man's life.
Praise be unto thee O Woman!
Thou art the Mother Goddess
The provider of energy and strength to Man.
Written on the occasion of International Women's Day 2010, I would like to pay my respect and show my gratitude to all the women in my life, including all my dear female poets here.

In ancient times, Men were exhorted to "Be a Man" but in this new Millennium we must exhort all Men to "Be a woman", for I find the ways of women far better than the ways of contemporary males.

I wandered lonely on the road
Nothing to do and no one to talk to
Unemployment and loneliness had made me bored
When I heard a voice say “Do you want to?”

I turned behind to see a young not so innocent girl
With painted face, sensuous lips and hardened eyes
Her saree like a flag over her shoulders did furl,
And her eyes glittered just as brilliant as ice.

With nothing to do; desolate and with no one to talk to
My mind did stray from silence to taking her away
For I just wanted to be with someone whom I could talk to
And so I asked her politely if with me she could stay

She said it would cost me a thousand bucks an hour
I agreed and said, “That’s O.K. With me it is fine”
For I felt it would be better than going on a lonely tour.
She wanted the bread upfront and not down the line.

I found her reasoning fair and parted with ten big ones
She grabbed them from my hand and asked where?
I asked her to share a drink to break the ice, at once
She agreed and we headed for a bar somewhere

She ordered ***** while I had my whiskey
We completed a couple and she loosened her tongue
She revealed the truth behind her mystery
While I breathed in companionship to which I clung

The hour passed quickly and the lady wanted her fee,
For the second hour of happiness and pleasure.
I fished out another thousand as if it were free,
She grabbed the notes as if she had no leisure.

“What next?” she replied, when I offered another drink
“Aren’t you interested in taking my body?” she asked
“You’ve paid for it”, she said as another round did sink
I’m not interested in ***”, I said and just talked

At the end of the second hour the professional woman got up
I asked her to sit and desperately offered her another thou
She looked at me scornfully as she would a ***** mongrel pup
You know you are just a put on, she said, just another pseudo

As she walked away, I sat wondering if I did deserve such scorn
A harlot who copulated everyday with multiple partners, faking ******
Just a cheap ***** at that had the temerity to call me a put on
While all I wanted was freedom from loneliness like a deep chasm.

MAGIC IN THE AIR
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
There’s Magic in the Air,
There’s Magic everywhere.
No need to seek,
Mysterious phenomenon called magic;
Just take a peek
And you’ll find it even in the tragic.
Its there for all to see,
It makes you humble and feel so wee.
The wonders that are worked,
Are far above our understanding;
Nature we have shirked
And don’t see everything outstanding.
There’s Magic in the Air,
There’s Magic everywhere.

THE MANGO TREE IN MY YARD
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
A mango tree grew and flourished
in the yard around our house
No one knew how it had been nourished
For none had bought it to the house.

Within a few years the tree grew big
And yielded many a tasty mango
That when ripe were quite big
Though how, we don’t know.

The mango tree attracted a lot of attention
At first did come crows, squirrels and parrots,
The whole place became a peaceful situation
Of bliss; indeed so cool and far out.

Next came the street urchins
Throwing stealthy stones over the wall
It only led to house break-ins
Under the pretext of picking the fruit that did fall.

Last but not the least were the neighbours
Educated so called honest folk
That climbed their terrace for the fruit of their labours
With long sticks they did poke

Respectable people who were lawyers and teachers
They found nothing dishonest in stealing the fruit
These people who were morality preachers
Found nothing wrong in plucking the fruit

“It’s just a natural fruit”, they said
“What’s wrong in taking it?”
They asked with consciences dead
Revealing that that they were just faking it.

I watched all this from my room so small
Every summer the mangoes came and so did they
Stretching their hand across the wall
“Why couldn’t they just ask and take?” I’d say.

MAKING MY DAY
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
Whenever,
I'm mentally troubled
Whenever,
I’m ruffled
I look at your picture
I look awhile and depart
with a few kisses
that leave me refreshed
and charged
to last through
yet another day.

Thanks for making,

PLEASURE IN PAIN
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
A koel* is born
In the nest of a raven
At birth it is torn
From its surrogate haven
With no mother born
It spreads its wings

In agony it sings
When out of its screams
A song in the morn
That echoes its dreams
Indeed a symphony, it is sworn
A eulogy it seems………..

An ugly dark mother
Has orphaned a melodious singer.
*Koel is a black bird with a long tail and resembles a crow. They are usually found in Tropical countries where they have been praised repeatedly by poets in the vernacular for their melodious sweet voice....

SNAKES EVERYWHERE
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
I had a strange dream,
a rather eerie kind of dream
and in my dream,
a crystal clear dream,
all that I saw was
snakes everywhere.

Snakes that transformed to human,
snakes that worshiped mammon,
snakes that slithered here,
snakes that slithered there.
These human snakes,
were everywhere.
Other snakes,
they trust not nor care.

Every snake,
an enemy of the other
These slippery human snakes,
These sly cunning snakes,
With venom in their hearts,
and smiles on their faces,
happy when a friend departs,
for hate prevails in all their hearts.

I had a strange dream,
a rather eerie kind of dream
and in my dream,
a crystal clear dream,
all that I saw was
hooded snakes everywhere.

In the midst of these snakes,
These writhing slippery snakes,
I saw a face of innocence
A simpleton full of benevolence
With nothing much of a contribution
to any worldly institution.
A simpleton who considered
these snakes a mere illusion

Noticing the simpleton among them,
The snakes swarmed towards him
They struck him with their fangs
And waited to witness his death pangs
But the simpleton just smiled
And stroked them with fingers mild
The more they bit him
The more he stood firm

I had a strange dream,
a rather eerie kind of dream
and in my dream
a crystal clear dream
all that I saw was
striking snakes everywhere.

The snakes struck their fangs deep
But the simpleton never did weep
Their poison they emptied quickly
While the simpleton stood simply
His blood immune to the poison
Surrendered not to this treason
Until their fangs tore and broke
Leaving behind dead snake folk.

The poison made the simpleton stronger
And his life time all the more longer
While the remaining snakes ran in fear
As towards them he came near
He sought them out as friends so dear
But to them he appeared an enemy clear
They bit and bit and bit and bit
Until they all died bit by bit.

I had a strange dream,
a rather eerie kind of dream
and in my dream
a crystal clear dream
all that I saw was
dead snakes everywhere.
This was written during a time of great upheaval in my career when all professional colleagues appeared poisonous and could not be trusted at face value...

IT’S A MAD MAD WORLD.
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
It is indeed a mad mad world
A world that talks of love
But only knows lust.
A world that speaks
of the benefit of being positive
but only makes others negative.

It is indeed a mad mad world
A world that talks of protecting animals
But only knows how to torture them.
A world that speaks
Of love and compassion
But only does it as a matter of fashion.

It is indeed a mad mad world
A world that talks of protecting nature
But only knows pollution and degradation
A world that speaks
Of going back to nature
But only destroys all hope for the future.

It is indeed a mad mad world
A world that talks of brotherhood
But only knows hate and destruction
A world that speaks
Of unity and hope
But then hangs the victim on a rope.

It is indeed a mad mad world
A world that talks of equality
But only knows caste and discrimination
A world that speaks
Of all men being the same
But then provides reservation*, Oh! what a shame!
*reservation here refers to the caste based quota of allocation in jobs and educational institutions. Though I belong to a so called Backward caste in my country, I refuse to accept any of the benefits of such reservation for me as well as my kids for I believe such a policy of reservation is destroying quality of Human Resources in my Country...

I sat inside the coach on a hot summers’ day
looking out through the barred window
as the train moved into a small station
along the winding way.
I watched another train coming our way
from the opposite direction;
entering and halting at the station
on the platform opposite
the one on which my train was standing.
The heat made me irritated
as I sat watching the summer haze
making heat waves that danced around me.

Suddenly, I felt the train was moving
and heaved a sigh of relief at the thought
of the cool wind that should and would
waft in once we were in motion
As we departed the station.
But there was no cool wind blowing
as I soon realised that it was the train
on the opposite platform that was moving
and making it appear that our train was leaving
While in fact, we were just a standing

Oh what an illusion indeed!
The moving of the train outside
that made it appear, it seemed
that the train I was sitting inside
was moving as if in great speed.
It only served as a reminder
of another illusion of our creator.
The illusion of ever flowing time
which enacted out a weird mime
that made it appear we were growing
and permanently and rapidly ageing
while in truth it was the other way going
it was only time that was a flowing.
Oh what an illusion indeed!

The politician went for a walk
Inside the nearby park
To rid himself of all the evil
Committed by him; the ***** devil.
It was a tropical twilight,
With the sun already set
when on his constitutional walk
a snake so long he met.
The politician wished the snake
With folded arms as artificial as could be.

The snake was surprised to see
that the politician was not even afraid.
“Aren’t you scared of me?” it asked the politician.
“Why should I be” he replied
“when an entire nation is afraid of me,
why should I be afraid of a snake so wee.”
“That’s true indeed”, said the snake in all humility
for my bite can only poison a single man or woman
while your deeds can destroy all men common.
You poison the system while I just poison
only a mere individual; indeed
you certainly are much more vile than me.

It was at that juncture a common man
entered the park so pretty as a picture.
He noticed the hooded snake
as well as the political hood.
He took a stick from upon the ground
and rushed towards them making a wild sound.
He raised the stick above his head
and struck the politician dead.
The snake smiled as it slithered away
into the bushes growing wild.

The peasant so proud muttered as he looked all around,
“The snake has been around for ages in the park
but has not bit even a single person in the dark.
The politician has been around only for a few years
but has made many a family shed tears.
Therefore my friends if you ever see a snake and a politician
do not hesitate and whack the politician on his pate
and let the snake so wee go away Scot free.”

WHEN ROBOT ARMIES MARCH
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
The day is not far
When robot armies march to war.
The day is not far
When robot armies march to war.

When robot armies fight
With all their terrible might
Complex Software will ensure
That weapons are precise and sure
To make their own value based decision
By using ethical governor software
They will act without doubt or hesitation
And responsibly use the hardware

The day is not far
When robot armies march to war.
The day is not far
When robot armies march to war.

When robotic attack aircraft strike
With an inbuilt guilt operational system
They will not shoot the enemy as they like
Even inside a **** zone defined by their system
When the software certainly indicate
Our enemies are within a cemetery
“Do not fire” the systems will dictate
In unison and in perfect symmetry

The day is not far
When robot armies march to war.
The day is not far
When robot armies march to war.

When robot pilots therefore open fire
They would breach international law
And draw many a nations ire
As enemies will seek shelter behind the law
When robots identify enemy
convoys close to a hospital
The system will allow damaging fire to the convoy
but the hospital in its entirety; it will not destroy.

The day is not far
When robot armies march to war.
The day is not far
When robot armies march to war.

When robot armies march to war
Then the day is not far
That hackers are employed at war
To ensure victory by far.
When hackers hack robotic attack systems
And corrupt their ethics and guilt systems
Then ultimately it is Man and not his invention
Which is behind all this corruption.

MISUNDERSTOOD
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
I watched in deep earnest
as the squirrel peered at me,
through a crack in the tiles, it
had slipped in to see
a face revealed before it.
In anticipation I waited
for it to approach me
as I smiled benignly at it,
I waved for it to see
My gesture of friendship towards it.
In fear the squirrel bolted
as if I’d aimed to hit it.
It didn’t wait for my friendship to see
a vain misunderstood gesture before it.

SHADES OF BLUE
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
Shades of blue; forever blue
Life is nothing but shades of blue.
Shade and shadow playing on
As we remain blissfully
Unaware of the big con.

Playing our petty games,
Ruling our own world,
Thinking we know,
More than most others know,
Mastering subjects and professions,
Unworthy of our time,
Wasting our bodies,
With food and wine.

Shades of blue; forever blue
Life is nothing but shades of blue.
Shade and shadow playing on
As we remain blissfully
Unaware; of the big con.

Hoping to conquer
All horizons viewed,
Ol! Life is
Nothing but *******.
When we sincerely assume
We are about to conquer
We only do so presume
For ultimately it is death that to dust us conquer.

Shades of blue; forever blue
Life is nothing but shades of blue.
Shade and shadow playing on
As we remain blissfully
Unaware; of the big con.

Before we even realize it,
Our life is soon over.
This veritable life indeed,
Which doth seemed to flower.
Is death a leveler?
Or, just a plain destroyer?
The cessation of breath,
It’s not just a meaningless death.

Shades of blue; forever blue
Life is nothing but shades of blue.
Shade and shadow playing on
As we remain blissfully
Unaware; of the big con.

THIS IS LIFE

I know that there is Light
At the end of the tunnel
I’m sure, Life will be bright
After all this trouble

I know that there is Joy
In the beginning of the new day
No sly cunning: no ploy
Can hinder my way

I know there is Hope
For I see light all around me
I’m sure I will not in darkness *****
After I have been set free

I know that there is Love
For there is Joy, Hope and Light
Pure, compassionate, deep and running true
For after all; this is Life.

GLOWING FROM WITHIN
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
Hi! Have you noticed
That the new born of all species
are beautiful when witnessed
for the first few infant days;
but then the beauty fades
when further away from purity
and truth they sway;
until ugliness creeps in and
age makes bitter
the soul as ***** as litter
since having lost its glitter
the mind doth turn
to thoughts not befitting
a soul so pure
that turns unworthy
of the divinity within.

No lotion, no cleansing agent
can bring that glow
that doth from within flow
when the soul is maintained
in a state of purity
and humility so low
that enables the noblest charity
of shedding the ego
which causes arrogance and vanity.
Therefore, let me myself clean,
Myself of thoughts so selfish and mean.
Oh God! Let me glow.

BEFORE………..
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
Before this body does turn to dust; my friends,
Fulfill your mission here on earth,
Go deep within and you shall find ere death,
The Godhead within us all; my friends.

Before this body does rot and putrefy to dust,
Do what you have to do; my friends,
Realize that God is not far away; my friends,
Plunge deep within and in the divine put your trust.

Before these bones turn brittle and break; my friends
Strengthen your soul and let it burn bright,
Look within and face the dazzling light
That is called God by all things living; my friends.

Before the invisible rope from which you hang like a puppet,
Is snapped and you fall lifeless; my friends,
Learn that that rope is your breath; my friends,
And doth God’s glory in many ways trumpet.

Therefore my friends waste no time but seek the divine
And drink of that Air that tastes like wine.

CALLING A SPADE A SPADE
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
All that I did
Was call a ***** a *****
And I became enemy number one,
Of many a *****.
If calling a ***** a *****
Can be termed a betrayal of trust
Then so be it
For it is better to betray the trust of such
Than just be another hypocrite
And become another *****
A ***** can dig when it wants to
Dig deep into hearts
As well as the earth
But a ***** can never
Ever understand the
Purpose of calling a ***** a *****
For it is after all
Only made of cold metal.

JUST BOMBING THE MOON
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
Here we go;
Just bombing the Moon
In our quest for knowledge;
Just bombing the Moon
Assuming it has no life;
Just bombing the Moon
Assuming it can’t feel pain;
Just bombing the Moon
Not knowing its all in vain;
Just bombing the Moon
Not realizing its significance;
Just bombing the Moon.

But then;
Just bombing the Moon
Tears me apart;
Just bombing the Moon
Sends a dagger thro’ my heart;
Just bombing the Moon
Makes me wince and cry;
Just bombing the Moon
Not realizing it is within;
Just bombing the Moon
All creative endeavour a killin';
Just bombing the Moon.

For little does Man know;
That the Moon lives within us.
Though we can’t prove or show;
The Moon within us.
Posted on HP in 2010 after hearing reports that NASA was bombing the Moon. It later turned out to be rumours.

Knowing fully well
that nothing is permanent
in this life,
Man acts as if he is eternal
With arrogant temperament
That he can never be destroyed.

How false can this world be?
How false can this world be?
Knowing fully well
that nothing is permanent
in this life
we continue to welcome all strife.

Even though the child
may love his mother
and the mother
may love the child,
it is ultimately material issues
that govern their love for each other.

How false can this world be?
How false can this world be?
Knowing fully well
that nothing is permanent
in this life
we continue to welcome all strife.

Even though Man may have
all that he needs
with avarice and greed
On these he feeds
Not realizing that nothing is his
And nothing he needs.

How false can this world be?
How false can this world be?
Knowing fully well
that nothing is permanent
in this life
we continue to welcome all strife.

TIME IN A BOTTLE
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
How frequently; how often,
Have each and every one of us
Wished we could soften
The blows that life delivers us
And capture time in a bottle?

How desperately; how terribly,
Have each and every single one of us
Wished we could forcibly
Remove the ills that trouble us
By capturing time in a bottle?

The problem with us
Is that we have blinkered vision
And forget that time resides within us
In a kind of a prison
For we ourselves are the bottle.

The joy within us
Is that we create our own destiny
And the choices are ours
To make with careful scrutiny
For we hold time within our bottle.

Where have all the tears gone?
Oh! Where have they all gone?
What was once so copious
as an Indian monsoon;
has like the effect of global warming
now dried up too soon.

Was I a child to cry so long?
who has now matured so strong?
What used to come so naturally
Like healing tropical springs
Does not now flow even artificially
And has hardened my heart strings

Has love betrayed made me cold?
Or is it that I’m just getting old?
Vibrant expression of sorrowful emotions
Those mind cleansing healing streams
Have dried up into something cold and bitter
My hardened rock like heart screams
For love that can make me better.

AN ELEGY TO MY MOTHERLAND
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
Here lies my beloved country,
Buried deep so deep inside,
This morass and cesspit so filthy;
With corruption and nepotism beside.

Here sleeps my mother land,
With no respect for womanhood;
**** and dowry deaths stain it’s hand,
While the poor live without food.

Here wastes the land of my forefathers,
With no pride in its culture or tradition;
Its strong social fabric in tatters,
Its grandeur lost in transition.

Here rests the land of the saints,
In spite of sages so wise;
A picture so ugly and ***** it paints,
With carnal lust, sin and vice.

Here decays the object of our martyrs,
Who died for our freedom,
That has now turned into a satire;
What a waste of their effort and wisdom.

A CELEBRATION OF VICTORY
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
Victory is ours my friend,
victory is ours forever.
Victory is ours my friend,
victory is ours forever.

Let evil thoughts be banished,
to the wilderness of forgetting.
All impure thoughts have vanished,
no more evil begetting.

Victory is ours my friend,
victory is ours forever.
Victory is ours my friend,
victory is ours forever.

The force of good has conquered,
the weakness of evil proved.
Entire armies of evil massacred,
the forces of good are good.

Victory is ours my friend,
victory is ours forever.
Victory is ours my friend,
victory is ours forever.

Let evil foes flee,
and destructive forces run.
Truth they shall see,
and its prevalence under the Sun.

Victory is ours my friend,
victory is ours forever.
Victory is ours my friend,
victory is ours forever.

Good has certainly triumphed,
over all forms of evil.
In goodness we shall walk,
surely we shall and we will.

Victory is ours my friend,
victory is ours forever.
Victory is ours my friend,
victory is ours forever.

Surrender to the pure,
seek forgiveness for the impure.
Blessings are for sure,
to those who’ve turned to good for sure.

Victory is ours my friend,
victory is ours forever.
Victory is ours my friend,
victory is ours forever.

Oh! Goddess of Learning,
to Thee we pray:
our supplication with yearning,
to Thee we lay.

Oh! Spouse of the Creator,
from Whom we are:
our desire for wisdom,
makes us what we are.

Oh! Fount of all arts,
from Whom all talents originate:
desire for expression starts,
making us all create.

Oh! Remover of all illusion,
from Whom all wisdom flows:
remove all our confusion,
that causes all other woes.

Oh! Teacher of all scholars,
from whom all knowledge we obtain:
the Mother of all followers,
hold me not in disdain.

Oh! Origin of all Languages,
to Thee we bow:
to You belong all homages,
give us wisdom with love.

LOVELORN LYRICS - 2.
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
I know not
Where you are
Or what you're upto.

I shall not
Wander afar
Or live without you.

I dare not
Forget 'bout you
For what'll I do alone

I cannot
Live without you
Even if turned to stone.
When I now read these old writes, I can't help but laugh at myself for they seem so stupid now.... :-)

LOVELORN LYRICS - 1.
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
Missing you
When you're gone
knowing you
will be back before dawn.

Hoping you
Will call me soon
Hoping you
Will come back soon.

Loving you
With all my heart
Loving you
I'll never depart.
A very old write from my early youth.....

A DIVINE ADDICTION
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
You curse me,
You abuse me,
But still I’m in your arms,
Away from a few storms.

You bring me disgrace,
I’m last in the race,
But still I’m in your arms,
Away from a few storms.

You make me so glad,
You also make me sad,
So I’m still in your arms,
Away from a few storms.

You made me bright,
You taught me what isn’t right,
So I’m still in your arms,
Away from a few storms.

The wonders you work,
Are far above me,
Behaving like a twerp,
I’m a mortal so wee.....
I had written this poem when I was eighteen and caught in the midst of mind damaging substance abuse and titled it “Addiction”, but had lost the original manuscript. However, bits and pieces were still floating around in my mind and I strung them together to create a new version.

My earlier, “Addiction” has been replaced over the years with a new form of addiction. A rejuvenating and exhilarating addiction to my Divine Teacher (Guru) who is my Lord and Master.  He may have cursed me to a life of poverty and done things that I may have considered abusive in a normal relationship but I soon realised that he was doing all this only to make me stronger to withstand any onslaught of fate and evil, to dismantle my ego and give me that golden quality of humility. This post is therefore dedicated to my Divine Teacher (Guru), my Lord, my Master, my God who has blessed me and done so much for me to protect me for the past twenty years (then when this was originally posted on HP. It is now over 30 years since the Almighty touched me).

The soul
had been anaesthetised.
The whole
had become fragmented

The world
had been put to sleep
The bold
had become too timid

The spirit
had been imprisoned.
The grit
had become less determined.

But…

The love in my heart
has set me free.
The new start
has become me.

I’m just an ordinary wordsmith,
sitting at my smithy everyday.
Allowing the fire within,
to forge the thought of the day.

I’m just an ordinary wordsmith,
hammering away all the while.
Producing the length and width,
that permits my thoughts to sail.

I’m just an ordinary wordsmith,
working at my smithy all the while.
Creating the shape and form,
in my own pattern and style.

Now all these eerie lights,
in my old memory lane;
have burnt out.
Leaving me so badly hurt,
crawling in all this dirt;
to get out.

And now I am free,
from all these evil chains.
And now I am fresh,
to walk through distant plains.
And now I know,
anything’s possible.

Followers of all these Gods,
have turned to satanic frauds;
for peace inside.
No one my voice will heed,
no one will feel my need;
believe me.

And now I am free,
from all these evil chains.
And now I am fresh,
to walk through distant plains.
And now I know,
anything’s possible.

This was my first attempt at writing lyrics for a song sometime in 1979, I guess. The musician with whom I worked on this song was very talented but unfortunately wine, women and drugs got him before we could record this.....

A child yet unborn,
Is conceived in the mind.
A thought yet unborn,
Has occupied my mind.

The thought then rests,
Feeding on the mind.
Until all strength vests,
The power that words find.

The birth of the child,
Is less pain than pleasure.
As words run wild,
And pages do measure.

The life of the child so small,
Depends on its acceptance.
Amongst readers who make it grow tall,
For then it finds its independence.

Objectives fixed and clear,
Goal of life so dear.
Move forward and fulfill,
What you must you really will.

Targets well defined and set,
Aim of life still unmet.
Gaze clearly and aim,
When zeroing in on the game.

Plans laid out clearly and correctly,
Way ahead shown exactly.
Implementation is the key and the lock,
That is when you take stock.

All done exactly,
In word and spirit.
But still then why,
Does my case have no merit?

Men! Men! Men!
Define Men asks my inter-actor;
Who is a real Man?
Does he have only one differentiator?
Is Man just an aggressor;
More brawn and less brain?
Or just an ordinary suppressor;
Of emotions in vain?

Man today says nothing is wrong
And anything and everything is right.
Man has made Truth relatively less strong
And has forgotten to treat others right.

Let barking dogs lie,
They used to say.
For indeed they die,
When you let them lie.

Let them learn the hard way,
They used to say.
For indeed those who go the hard way,
Forever they never stay.

Let them be fooled by a mirage,
They used to say.
For indeed the world’s an illusory stage,
While the show never fades away.

Give me a break
Dear God!
Give me a break.

I have so much at stake
Dear God!
I have so much at stake.

I have much to make
Dear God!
I have much to make

My soul do awake
Dear God!
My soul do awake.

Before my life doth take
Dear God!
Before my life doth take.

What is time?
Is it also an illusion?
You don’t give a dime;
And that’s why the confusion.

What is mine?
Is anything my possession?
You don’t feel fine;
And that’s why the obsession.

What else can rhyme?
Is anything my creation?
You just are a mime;
And therein the whole passion.
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
Pleasure follows pain;
it’s a cycle you see.
Nothing is in vain;
it’s a cycle for free.

Pleasure heightens senses;
Pain refines the soul.
No man in his senses;
refuses to be whole.

Pain empowers and strengthens,
while pleasure; numbs the soul.
Ben Noah Suresh May 2020
The world
is small
but we
think tall;
We don’t look
at the small
we believe
it’s a fall;
Think big
we call.
Look! how big;
is the wall,
we have built;
around all!

You take,
What you give.
You give,
What you take.

You protect and care take,
What you give.
You take,
What you protect and care take.

You give,
What you protect and care take.
You take,
What you give for keep sake.

For nothing is mine.
Everything is yours,
Including the Sun that shines,
I’m all yours.

For everything is yours.
Nothing is mine,
Including this illusion of ours,
Oh God! I’m all yours......

The eye of the hurricane,
what a calm place to be.
Thats where I now am,
with God next to me.

With God next to me,
what do I fear.
That’s how I now am,
with God beside me here.

With God beside me here,
what Joy do I experience.
That’s all I am,
with God everywhere.

What is it,
That makes me live?
It’s Air, it’s Air.

What is it,
That permeates everywhere?
It’s Air, it’s Air.

What is it,
That constitutes my soul and mind?
It’s Air, it’s Air.

What is it
That makes me follow Karma?
It’s Air, it’s Air.

What is it,
That makes me write this piece?
It’s Air, my friends, it’s Air.

Before the Air
Leaves the body
For good
Before the Air
Departs the body
As it should

Look inside yourself
my friends
Witness the Glory
My friends
Heaven shall be yours
For heaven is inside my friends

INDEED, HEAVEN IS INSIDE MY FRIENDS.
Looking back at my old posts on HP from 2010, I kinda wonder if it is the same person who wrote this....

Within and without
inside and outside
Within The body and out
two worlds abide.

The world inside
both wondrous and rapturous
The world outside,
both illusory and sensuous

Go into your world
and pray in the dark.
Learn to be bold
see the light and the mark.

Go out unto the world
and labour in the dark
Learn not to be told
see the good and the stark.

Within and without
both are the same
Journey without doubt
and play a clean game.

Unity in diversity
not only in the Indian nation
but in entirety
across nature’s creation.

The very nature of unity
does not mean oneness
it also reveals a duality
for unity means togetherness.

To unite two or more into one whole.
this being the essence of nature
it would be essential to also extol
the duality found in nature.

Nature exists in pairs
living as opposed to non-living
I’m not splitting hairs
receiving as opposed to giving.

Duality seems to exist
man as opposed to woman
while both co-exist
inhuman as opposed to human.

Duality seems to exist
darkness as opposed to light
following the other’s exit
day as opposed to night.

Duality exists everywhere
Truth as opposed to falsehood
is found everywhere
Indeed, duality is for good.

Wandering thirsty
Through the street
Wandering aimlessly
Dragging my feet.....

Wondering drearily
Through life’s maze
Wondering futilely
Thinking in a daze.....

Worrying constantly
Through out our life
Worrying negatively
Living in constant strife.....

Wandering, wondering, worrying,
Three things one’s mind must not do.
Preparing, praying, pondering,
Three things one’s mind must constantly do.
