Nathan Roman Sep 2020
Within these four walls, time moves slow,
As morning light fades to afternoon glow.
This day the same as every other,
Devoid of certainty, purpose, or a lover.

Weeks and months have traveled briskly by,
As we struggle to separate the truth from a lie.
Now when we venture out, everyone’s a threat.
As millions fall into deeper and deeper debt.

In the end, I must protect you, and you, me
If we want to defeat our shared enemy.
