take a bath
do your nails
and don't let boys be mean to you

curl your hair
call granny
and don't let boys be mean to you

write in a journal
walk the dog
and don't let boys be mean to you

eat your favorite food
watch a little netflix
and don't let boys be mean to you

hang out with your friends
read the bible
and don't let boys be mean to you

pick yourself up
dust yourself off
but above all
do not let boys be mean to you

a promise of a word
a boy who means the world

a day here and there
a second never to spare

a promise of forevers
a dream to maybe come true

a lifetime in a minute
a quite little "i love you"

I don't ever feel lonely
as I lay in bed awake
knowing I'm in my city
as my boy is in his
it makes my heart just break

So I stare at the ceiling
maybe count a couple sheep
by this time of night
I'm sure he's fast asleep

Tomorrow will come and it will
all begin again
but I wouldn't have it
any other way as the
stars are my best friends

How spiteful it is
that I spend an abundance
of time on
the things I need to do
and not the things I want to

I sit in history and paint pictures
with my mind
swirling and twirling

I sit in chemistry and compose songs
with my mind
bounding and leaping

I sit in english, even, and write poetry
with my mind
meaningful and mine

I sit
I sit
I sit
