Singed Wings
There is a butterfly inside me.
I am a jar.
Gossamer wings broken and singed
I magnify the sun
And burn her
Fragile, feeble flutter
All the beauty that could be
Glass is merciless
I am a jar.
There is a butterfly inside me.

Roll with Me
Two dice tumbling, over and over
Shaken together, rolled over leather,
Always coming up a double six.
Enjoy this game, this sweet duet,
Revel in the harmony of chance.
Together, we will always be the most, the best,
Without you, I roll one,
A sad, lost, lonely die.

I Know
I have never met you,
And yet, I know how you taste;
Like hope, and dreams, and
Like my love
You taste like my love.
You taste like the first warm wet raindrop
Of an English summer storm,
Like release, and peace,
You taste like my love.
You sound like a crackling fire on a frozen winters day,
A seagull's cry above a wild, unsheltered bay,
You sound like my love.
You feel like the sun's first gentle kiss,
Rebirth, and warmth; you feel like this,
You feel like my love.
I have never met you
And yet, I know how you smell, taste, sound and feel
Like my love
My love, my love.

Desire of the old gods
Bacchus begone,
I will never taste a wine
As potent or as sweet as those soft, pink, dew-kissed lips.
There is no grape as round or luscious
As her dimpled, yielding globes,
And when she dances, I die
a sweet death, and beg with every breath
To have her in my mouth again,
To sip her honeyed juices,
As she writhes upon my tongue.
An experiment, inspired by the myths of Bacchus/Dionysus and Greco-Roman deities.

What we create
Amidst the ultimate creative act
I am written
Into and onto and out of myself.
Cursive curving down my spine,
Skillful penstrokes, muse divine,
I am your masterpiece,
And you will be my opus.
My mouth is a new page,
My tongue your first chapter.
Lay me across your lap, open me,
And read, and write, with pure delight
What we create
Our love, our fate.
“Do not be afraid; our fate
Cannot be taken from us; it is a gift.”

Dreamstar (haiku)
Baby sees a star
Makes a wish, hands clenched, eyes shine
Yes, dreams do come true.
Saw a shooting star, my three year old made a wish and it's a secret, of course.

Koh Samui Rain
Fat round raindrops fall
And flood the fetid street,
A warm, wet treat
For an island owned by heat.
A slippery deluge, a storm,
Lamai welcomes the warm
Caress of wet hot rain
And I am birthed into this land,
Into sun, colour, and sand.
Waters break,
A lake, deluging me
Willingly, I bathe
In amniotic rain
Reborn, in heat, and hope, and pain.

Just after dawn
The heady scents of night recede,
Unfamiliar birds call, plaintively, into the lightening sky,
Morning-flowers unfurl, rich and lush and greedy for the heat.
Stars retreat, but the moon lingers, proud and unrepentant,
Fading, but resolute; a promise to return.
In this garden of delights I sit and think of you, so far away, oh,
You are so far, you are too far.
I close my eyes and dream that you are here with me,
Sharing the newborn sun.
Coy pink petals unfurl, to a sudden brazen blaze,
The day is here, and you are gone with the night,
Back into my dreams, I know you will emerge
When the thai moon rises, I know that you are with me
And I know that you are thinking of me,
Unfurling, opening up, reaching out,
Drinking in your love.

A Dancing Heart
Sometimes, you must take action
In order to avert a calcification of the inner self,
A slow and sad decline.
My brittle heart was dessicated,
A cuttlefish, broken and alone,
Upon a windswept shingle beach.
Now, it pulses, it throbs,
The bass beat background to my life,
An eternal dance of joy.
Sometimes, life will gift you a great friend, a kindred soul,
Sometimes, you find someone
To revive you, make you whole.

Virtual Musings
Virtual kisses scattered across cyber-skin
Can feel more real than an actual press of lips,
Each a little pull, an ache, within.
Sensual stories do provoke a rush,
Evocative, delicious, stirring, lush,
But, there is no substitute for strong arms, encircling
a slender waist, there is no online-version of the warm sweet taste
of lips and tongue. Such precious words
Should be whispered, to a trembling, eager heart
Not typed onto a screen, too many miles apart.

I have a gift for you, it is my heart.

with affection.
I ask for nothing in return
But your promise to cherish my gift.

Ample (haiku)
A little wobble
Pleasure's payment, my own, earned,
Juicy little bounce.
You’re just rough enough
To make me tremble, and squeal,
And this delights you.

Make me helpless, Take
Everything you want, push me
Facedown, hold me fast.

Desire, raging fire,
Clothes rip, teeth nip, you devour,
Merciless master.
Apparently, 'Desire' and 'Fire' can be either two or one syllables, handy!

Minus One
There are two
But should be three.
Little he? Little she?
I never knew.
Sometimes it catches me,
A scent of a memory
Taking me back to those first months of joy...
Little girl? Little boy?
I wrote you a journal
Charting happiness and hopes
Dashed in moments
By a still and silent screen,
And a heart wrought silent scream.
The pain has never left,
I still mourn
Ever bereft,
Little lady? Little man?
Where a mother first began.

I see, I see
That you have brought a box, for me.
It is so very small.

My heart, my heart, will fall apart

Lashed by turbulent waves.
Salty surging choristers

I just want to sing.
I offer my heartsong

Selfless Succubus
The night is an endless winding road,
And you are weary and travel-sore.
I will send you a vision of a moonlit lake
Where we can bathe together, gently embracing.

Sensual, searching fingertips
Slowly brushing parted lips.
Water black and still and deep
The darkest, most refreshing sleep.

We glisten softly
With the burning light of a billion stars,
Two hearts burn there too.
The night won't seem so endless
While I linger there with you.

Conquered Queen
I have such power
But wily Knight could take me
If he moves with skill.

You are behind me,
Where you belong. Careful now…
I can move backwards.

A pawn is in my path.
I can’t take him,
He is protected by you.

There is a way out
But I do not want to win
I want to be won.

Take me, game over,
I willingly concede, my
strong, sweet Knight, checkmate.
These are linked haikus/senryu's but I don't think the poem needs to be labelled as such.

Another kind of intimacy
Let's just lay together, fully clothed and intertwined,
Whispering secrets far into the night.
I need to breathe in the soft warm smell of you,
Bury my face in your neck,
and chastely adore you, just for tonight.
Ah, let me lay here,
And if you doze, and dream of a franker kind of love,
Then keep it in your sleep, for now
I simply want to hold you,
Please, take me in your arms.
I want to take your hands,
Pull you firmly against my body,
Wrap myself around you,
Let you feel me tremble.

Take a moment to register the connections.
Take a moment...

I want to press my cheek to yours and hold it there,
Let your fingers tangle in my hair.
Move away slowly and place my lips against your neck,
Let you taste mine.
You'll want to linger, but I'll look up
And softly press my lips on yours and moan,
Such utter longing, inadvertent, impossible to suppress.
I'll open your mouth with my tongue
And flick your own, flick, flick,
The most delicious lick
becoming deeper, probing sweetly, and now we are touching
in so many ways, I am
about to explode just thinking about it...

How I want to kiss you.
How I want to be closer than this.
How I want.

What He Wants
He is begging me to touch him.
He wants me to take him in my arms, and love him.
“Please, do this” His eyes say, “Nuzzle and caress”
But he sits there, guarded,
Unwilling to make the first move.
He can’t take his eyes off me.
Transfixed, he trembles, wanting this so badly,
I wish I could reassure him
But If I try to move towards him, he will flee,
So I wait for him to make a leap of faith.
There is nothing to fear, pussycat,
Let me stroke you, let me hear you purr.

A gentle storm (haiku)
Your gentlest kisses
Are like thunder and lightning
A storm in my soul.
A pearl is kissed; licked
By a gentle, questing tongue,
Ecstasy greets her.

How I want to kiss you
I want to take your hands and pull your body onto mine,
Wrap myself around you,
Sense your pulse quicken, hear you breathing hard,
Let you feel me tremble.

Take a moment to register the connections.
Take a moment...

I press my cheek to yours, and hold it there,
Feel your fingers tangle in my hair.
I kiss your neck, you ******* own...
You'll want to linger, but I slowly bring my lips to yours, and moan
with helpless, inescapable desire.
Tentatively opening your mouth with my tongue,
I flick your own, flick, flick,
The most delicious lick,
Probing deeper, sweeter and sweeter,
Now we are touching, in so many different ways,
I am about to explode just thinking about it...

How I want to kiss you.
How I want to be closer than this.
How I want.
I accidentally deleted the original of this poem, this isn't exactly the same, I can't quite recall the exact words I used before, but I think it's as close as I can get to the first poem and I can't bear to lose it completely.

Early Spring Picnic
The sun is out, and England is reborn, as are we.
The grass is singing,
as it pushes through the ground,
Daffodils are dancing in a frenzy, all around.
Let's pack a picnic,
Take a walk in the park.
I'll wear my vintage dress, with flouncy petticoat, seamed stockings
And cherry earrings, you'll make me your dessert
under the willow trees down by the lake.
No-one can see us, lose yourself in all my layers,
Find the seams, follow them up,
And tug at my tight little belt.
Yes, I am edible, do I taste sweet?
Let's make the most
Of this unseasonal heat.
Joys of spring, and all that...

A brief reminder of grief
A poem is a living thing,
Born of love or hate, joy, or despair.
When it is received, and loved by a reader,
It reaches it's full potential,
Matures, becomes layered and complex, almost sentient.
Has relationships, prompts reactions, stirs emotions,
And such a poem, being lost, must be mourned, will be grieved.
Indulge me in my sadness, for these treasured words
Conceived and birthed with such joy that they overflowed the page
and ecstatically overwhelmed me.
I know, they were just words, I know...
But this grief is familiar. It reminds. It rewinds.
And I am back in a place I do not care to revisit,
Waiting to be haunted, by "it wasn't meant to be".

Gouge harder, please
If I fall, unbidden, into your idle daydreams,
Do you scourge me from your head with thought-blades,
Gouge me from the soft grey jelly with a blunt steel mind-spoon?
And how precise are these eviscerations?
Perhaps you may just miss a lingering memory;
That birthday kiss, your hands like angels whispers on the nape of my neck.
The glance across the room, or one of my fleeting messages,
Vanishing in seconds, but scribed indelibly into your psyche.
Or not so indelibly; perhaps you never think of me at all,
Or only as you think of other embarrassments, and guilty pleasures,
With a vague distaste, and a promise to yourself to do better.
If it's the former, and you find yourself gouging,
Dig deeper, my darling, I would wish to be gone forever
from your lightly troubled mind,
I can bear to be reviled, I can bear to be a torment,
I cannot bear to be a troublesome fly-thought, easily swatted,
An irritating echo, or a faint and tainted ***** dream.
And still, it hurts...

Intimacy
Where you want it, you won't find it,
Where you find it, you will return unbidden,
Hopelessly addicted
to the chemicals of connection.
Tentative mental kisses
Become heartfelt communion
Elusive and fleeting and forever.
Breathe it, live it, be it,
Love it, shape it, coax it gently into life.
Do not run from it, do not be afraid
to grasp and hold it, to let it overwhelm you,
Or, to let it go.
It may be gone in a moment, or
grow, and change,
It might live forever, or instantly die.

Don't mess with my friend!
I'll craft you an arrow with a poem-poison tip,
Forge you a grammar-sword to hold at your hip,
Ride into battle proud to be by your side,
Wordsmith a cave where I’ll take you to hide.

Give me a word, and I’ll light it ablaze,
I have a million wonderful ways,
Wrath bullets launching from literature-guns,
Shiny and sassy and loaded with puns.

Seed me with words, and I’ll birth them for you,
Transformed and ready, and scathing, and true,
I am your friend, your protector, your muse,
I will comeback, and attack, and confuse.

Dim sum
Between finger and thumb
Canny little package
Dip it in soy.
Got a craving.
Where did you come from?
What is this all about, and
Where will we end up?

I came for the wish
You made from your hurting heart
I am what you need.

But I am scared, and
I am worried, I am not
me, I am not free.

*I will crush your fear,
Allay your worries, I will
never hurt you, hush.
