Poker face is what I wear,
Emotionless I walk on the road of pain,
Not shedding a tear,
Yet doubting my every step,
Insults hit me in the face,
I let them sink in,
The terror increases ,
So does the fear of failing,
I stand adamant on my point,
Only to be told I'm never right,
When will it all stop?,
When did it all begin?,
I'm pushed into the darkness,
My last ray of hope flickers dead,
I drop down on my knees,
But I still believe I'm right ,
But am I really?

There she lays in her sorrow,
Wafts of past memories blow in her face,
Cracks appear through her armour,
And a drop of pain rolls down her face,
Wails of darkness spit out her mouth,
Her nails puncture the skin of her palms,
Blood flows as her agony,
And a bloodcurdling scream echoes in her existence,
Red and black shows in her eyes,
Tendrils of forgotten joy whisper through her hair,
Her legs nimble stand on the cold ground,
She takes a step,
Only to stumble with a broken smile,
Disappointment is the last straw for her sanity ,
Her will shatters into a million crevices, never to glue back together,
Her heart beats into silence,
As her soul mirrors her shattered will,
In the last moments ,
Her life flashes before her eyes,
And then slowly she withers into the wind.

I'm not who I seem to be ,
But you bring out the best in me ,
You whisper in my ear,
And wash away my fear,
I take a step back ,
Uncertain not sure,
But you push me 10 paces ahead ,
And that's how you become my cure,
You give me the strength to get everything done,
Because you are my only one .

Darkness rolls in,
Soft and soothing,
Gently stroking my cheek,
Wiping away my tears of despair,
Lifting me off my knees,
It washes away my wrinkles of sorrow,
Helps rejuvenate my face with happiness,
Tendrils of darkness rinse away my hardness,
I feel the corners of my lips lift,
And finally I realize,
What many others have already realized ,
That the darkness too can make you smile .
