an ink drop falling on dry paper the sudden silence turned the sunrise dark every wind gust projecting a vicious panther the absence of your hand on frozen skin crumbling, shivering with hugged legs awaiting the buzz of salvation But the sun was always there behind my hands, covering my eyes and humans generate their own heat

Crumbling
Placed in the land of titans I fled as fast as I could Lost, unfed, wandering mountains and rivers Hidden from heaven I lay to rest, weakening Protected from friend or foe While unseen mouths satiate in the dark Soaked through the bone Rain hammers the land erasing every mark leaving no path for hope

Lost
Lightning strikes rising smoke. Ash leaking into a shack, filling my sight Coughs echo on the mountain. Every breath traps warmth, holding me still

Hearth
why would i check the weather in august? the searing sun on my skin turns into cool sweat in the breeze, shutting my eyes in emptied fields of wheat. among the cicadas there's your heartbeat, pulling me up to the sky. my desolate farm falling from view, as lush mountains take its place. when i land, the silence is sudden. my bare feet buried in white freezing over to keep you out shivering in the summer snow
