Sometimes the sun just doesn’t break through, And the world feels heavy, and cold, and blue. The plans I made are scattered like glass, Watching the shadow of the struggle pass. I’m tired of being "strong" today, Of finding the words I’m supposed to say. My body remembers the fear and the fight, The long, lonely hours in the hospital light. It’s okay to sit in the quiet and weep, For the peace I lost and the scars I keep. For the version of me that I used to be, Before the storm took a piece of me. Life isn’t always a victory song, Sometimes it’s just staying where you belong. Holding the sadness, letting it stay, Until the heavy air starts to drift away.

The weight of the fog
They call it a name I didn’t know, A sudden tide, a heavy blow. When the blood turned tired and the pressure rose, I faced the fear that a mother knows. The world went fast while I stood still, Surrendering to a different will. Between the labs and the IV lines, I looked for hope in the smallest signs. It stole the peace I thought I’d find, And left a different strength behind. A body scarred, a spirit mended, A journey I never apprehended. But I am here, and I am whole, With a warrior’s heart and a survivor’s soul. The storm has passed, the air is clear, I’m breathing out the ghost of fear.

Broken Silence
For a while it stays dark, For a while it's bright, For a while I'm at the park, For a while it feels right, For a while it stays cold, For a while it burns, For a while we grow old, For a while we were young, For a while the sky's blue, For a while it's black, For a while the birds rest, For a while they flew.
