After hurting my heart, they say,
"When did we ever hurt your heart?"
"Your heart is just delicate;
when did we ever trouble you that much?"*
"You cry so easily;
otherwise, when did we ever make you cry that much?"*

Do the same, act the same,
do as they once did,
but what would I truly gain?
Wouldn’t I become like them instead?
Would they do the same to me,
the things I never liked done?
Doing the same is not the way,
it only worsens day by day.
All it does is slowly change you
into someone you said
you’d never become.
Simple advice, clear and true:
be wise and answer as yourself.
If they curse, then do not curse,
remember what my parents taught.
Answer wisely, kindly, firmly,
stand up for yourself the right way.
Not with hatred, not with spite,
but with goodness and self-respect

I was sitting, doing nothing
Saw a light, started jumpin’
It was so small yet so mesmerising
Then it occurred oh, it’s movin’
Wanted to take a closer look
But the light didn’t wanna show its source
Remembered something and jumped with excite
It was a firefly
oh, did I see right?

The moon can't replace the sun
the sun can't replace the moon
the stars can't replace the rainbow
the rainbow can't replace the stars
but I'm neither a star nor a rainbow
neither a moon nor a sun
“Old is gold,” they say
but old is slowly forgotten, I think
of course I can be replaced
for being too human at heart

Roses are red ,
but they can be yellow
violets are blue ,
but they can be purple
marigolds are yellow,
but they can be orange
You can be anything
but that anything should be magnificent

The sky had a mysterious amethyst hue,
I sat in the college bus, unsettled.
The sky was beautiful, yet exhaustion and frustration furrowed my brows.
Then I noticed some flower beds nearby,
full of purple and white blooms.
But it wasn’t they that caught my eye—
it was the marigold, standing alone,
a different color, bright and free,
that bloomed my mood beneath the mysterious amethyst sky.

Who am I to say
Who am I to stop
Whenever we see wrong
These thoughts come along
But then a voice comes,
deeper than none.
It comes right from the soul
But only for those who know
What is happening is wrong
It’s our responsibility to stop.

Tick tock, tick tock
Hickory dickory dock,
The time doesn’t stop,
So, dear passengers you,
Go with the clock.
Because the time will keep on,
Hickory dickory dock,
And if you lose to tick-tock,
You’ll be left with regret.
People will say, “O fellow!”
There’s no use crying over spilt milk,
So the advice is clear ,loud and near
Move with hickory dock
Or you’ll be left with misery.

I stand,
I sit,
I lay,
Thinking the same thing:
Should I become a liar
to make my place in this lying zone?
For this world is a lie.
Love hides behind lying hearts.
For this world itself is unkind,
thinking non-lying people are fools
