Enter 2014, the jungle became a democracy,
And elections were held.
The lion won and became the king,
And the opposition were decimated.
A similar thing happened 5 years later,
And the hyenas all united beyond factions.

2024, the elections were held yet again,
The earlier king got lesser votes.
But the lion was chosen the king anyway,
Still, the hyenas behaved as if they won.
The prince of hyenas, 53 years of age,
Claimed a moral victory and they celebrated.

It's like the silver medalist celebrating,
And their minions are to blame.
We voted without thinking,
And they capitalised the game.
Everything they did to build the jungle,
Into a paradise went down the drain.

Don't worry we are not alone, He fights with us,
but He already won it for us!

When was the last time you entrust Him all your battles?
When was the last time you cried for help and say "I need you!"

Don't forget the after every war there's peace and peace is only He can give.

What started out as a trivial matter,
Has grown into something significant.
Even though the approach is smatter
And his words don't seem clarificant,
He still conveys his best,
Expecting an answer, or a sign,
Patiently waits for a closure
With his fingers entwined.

What’s up
Lil buttercup
How’ve you been
What you been up to
Never know this how we’d end up
It’s been a minute for me at least
You were my cup of tea
So what’s tea
How you feeling bout me
Since you’ve been without me
This ain’t even about me
I just hope you see I been miss you
Those beautiful brown eyes
Yeah I’m think bout you
Social media tell me lies
Since I’ve been less social with you
Seem like the stars don’t shine without you
Just think back say we were meant to be
Funny how we had it under lock and key
Coupd up in the house on sum locked up ****
Sun don’t hit the same since you went missing
Bottom line “I miss you “
You told me then that communication was the issue
No longer going on bae-cations with you
Absence makes the heart grow
And your absence has only started to make my feelings grow stronger
You told me then that communication was the issue
No longer going on bae-cations with you
Absence makes the heart grow
And your absence has only started to make my feelings grow stronger
We grew further and further apart
I was starting to think you blocked me
Part of what I’m saying is Do you still think about me ?
Like I think about you
I been feeling blue
Since our last link
Think I really caught feelings
Who knew
We all have that someone we miss

4/25/2020 - Poetry form: Alliteration - This is the 8th poem in my Alliterative Alphabet Series. Each poem describes conversations between two or more people while only using words that start with or sound like the first letter of the title of the poem. I’m publishing the poems as I write them on Wattpad.com, not necessarily in alphabetical order. My goal is to write at least 26 poems to cover each letter of the alphabet. I hope you find the concept interesting, maybe even clever. Most of all I hope you enjoy them :) - There are a lot of words starting with "X", but it's a challenge creating a coherent dialog with just "X" words.  Saved by the definition of alliteration: "The occurrence of the same letter or sound at the beginning of adjacent or closely connected words."   Ahhh... so the same "sound" would fit the bill.  Thus, the use of words beginning with "ex" would provide the "X" sound, alliteratively speaking :) - Disclaimer: This poem is fictional and does not depict any actual person or event.  The names used are ficticious and were chosen to satisfy the requirements of the poetry form. - © 2020 by Mark Toney.  All rights reserved.

The general loved missiles.
He got a tattoo of one.
A big super-duper boom stick.
Boeing MX Peacekeeper ICBM.
Ten MIRV'd 335 kiloton warheads.
City killers on our heathen ****** enemies.
The inker moaned like a boiler.
Huffing and puffing.
You represent evil.
You're the military industrial complex.
You're gonna wipe us all out.
And a dozen more rants.
The general sat there.
Listening and getting his tat.
Why didn't you say no, son?
You never had to do my tattoo?
What you represent is madness.
All that firepower, aimed at Russia.
Well son, that's the way the world works.
They aim their SS20s at us.
It's all madness.
Nice tattoo by the way.
I'll remember you when Reagan orders me
to order my boys to push the red button.
