"watchdogs" poems
UNDERDOG RAP
We are a population which is
Awaiting loaves and the fishes
And other unfulfilled wishes;
No chance to know what rich is,
While graduates are digging ditches
Immigrant PhDs are doing dishes.
Never quite knowing which is
Snake oil salesmen pitches.
Politicians too big for their britches.
Fools don’t know where the hitch is
Whatever the larcenous pitch is;
Reacting with kneejerk twitches
Due to governmental glitches.
And creeps like that guy Mitch is
Are rapacious sons of *******
Hunting for Democratic witches
In all the freedom fighting niches
With hearts as black as pitch is.
And the rich have a wish list
In which they scratch their itches
Regardless of what our ***** is
By wallowing in stolen riches
Punishing watchdogs snitches.
Politicians too big for their britches.
We are a population which is
Awaiting loaves and the fishes
And other unfulfilled wishes.
No chance to know what rich is.

And the monstering comes to this
the result of the ignorant taking the ****
the product of shaming
by society's ill-trained watchdogs
gnawing at the bones
before the body's cold
before the body's aligned with mind
and still gnawing when all's done
to make sure we know the price
to keep us in our assigned place
to monster us, to demonise
to create and feed self hate
so we hide, turn inward, upon ourselves
so we don't disturb
the comfortable myths
by which they live
the black and white
wrong and right
binary fantasies
that allowing us to be would challenge
so the real monsters monster us
and impose on us the binary
of life and death

Fire. Replacements.
Issues? Productivity.
Decision in order, severe
Raising questions
Consumer, retailer, associates
Market based.
Will not reveal
Range for their role
Earn, risk, deflating, left behind
Probably thinking they don’t have a future there
Do these questions offend you?
Hourly workers, open positions.
We have and continue to control what’s next
Stiff competition, corporate struggle
Watchdogs fail
Demoralized

Darkness haunches over me
The mountains swallow the obsidian sea
A thick chill weighs heavy on my lungs
Like the sinking night
The ocean with no will to rise and fall
lays still to the weight of time
And I, knees tucked tight,
watch the minutes pass by
contemplating, soul searching
as the calvary draws from the east
Arterial red spears pierce the darkness
Copper ink bleeds from sky to sea
casting colour like rose petals
and cotton candy
to welcome the sun
as it’s light drowns out the night
The mountains retreat like watchdogs backing down
The chill lifts
unfreezing the motionless tide
Lovers take to the long stretch
And so the day begins

*The world we see today
The world we human have made
Polluted, corrupt, unequal,
Filled with
Classism, communal & casteist...
With 70% of flora-fauna extinct
Since advent of agriculture
Industrialization & new age
A world where
People are insensitive
Where they even cheat
Their brother, sister & family
And acquire wealth illegally
This world we live in today
Did not fall from the sky
Did not happen in a day
It happened because
People were indifferent to LOVE
People were indifferent to
Those who LOVED them
Bystanders just stood and watched
Jesus crucified, Mansoor lynched
All LOVERz of history
like...
Layla Majnun
Romeo Juliet
Shirin Farhad
Sohni Mahiwal
Heer Ranjhana
Stand as a reminder
That they and their LOVE
Stood to save
Humanity and the world
The BELOVEDz & LOVERz
Died in longing pain
Because the world
Treated them as sick & mad
Considered them as criminals
And ousted them from
Their lives and society
All throughout history
The LOVERz-BELOVEDz
Died because
There were those who
Even though knew about "LOVE"
Sat back and watched LOVERz
Die a slow painful death
This life, work, wealth,
Money, power, fame
Are tools of the
Modern age we live in
A Machiavellian design
To mark and **** out LOVERz,
Deprive them a right to LOVE
And to finally annihilate them
This is new world's
Biggest betrayal of
To those who came with
The message of LOVE
Every day world demonizes
The one who LOVEz
By calling them names
And keeping them out of
Their lives and society
Three things:
a. The majoritarianism herd mentality
b. The subservient pseudo intelligence
c. And a lack of conscience
Any one alone can not
Destroy LOVE as we know it
But...
A combination of all three
Could prove deadly on
Those who LOVE - like us...
LOVERz are not betrayers of life
But they are the whistle blowers
And the watchdogs of conscience
LOVERz show the mirror of
True self to the world
So that one can save humanity
Where are those who believe in LOVE?
They are here, they live in us..!
In the BELOVEDz - LOVERz,
In YOUz & me, In me & YOUz*

Stab these antennas in my head
And a thousand government watchdogs
Are barking at my door
I shall deny no more
The existence of a greater evil
Tune me in so that I may see again
The ****** broadcasts of what I would imagine hell is like
Just like tonight
When silence besets my windowsill
And snow pours forth into my bloodshot eyes
So cold out there in the darkness
Where every winking star's a satellite
Looking down upon the fallen masses
Images so troublesome and more to come
A swift and steady marching army
Onward! We die tonight!
Fall in men!
Keep moving!
Move out!
And so on, it goes on
We tamper with our
"God-given" boundaries
Shock therapy
And can you see the dead eagles,
All piled in the courtyard?
Some melancholy symbol of our chaos.

Thanksgiving Menu Planning for Gaining and Losing
~~~
having shed thirty pounds plus,
another X more yet required,
to be forever properly de-cored,
a happy subtracted scoring
part too,
brought the curtain going down
on a seven year insanity,
paid off the forever divorcing *****
that weight worth more than a Venetian
pound of flesh
now finding myself
in a re-entry orbit,
though hardly gliding,
encased in a capsule,
friction glowing gold
the now never~ending
calorie counting and exercise rituals,
in every aspect of life,
all friendly devils of relentless,
demanding utter devotions,
all watching, wondering, watering, endlessly,
a new perennial flowering of a leaf,
all watchdogs of the truth serum called
what if?
what if
had I lived my prior
lazy loose life,
with the current rigor
of daily barefaced truth
I would never have made
choices that have redline scarred,
some made back in 1975,
into a forty year losing war,
spiral declination that permitted the
insidious, slo-mo of decay,
that could be, would be,
reversed only
by this recent heart
and soul surgery
*nowadays, menu plan my life's
every actionable choice,
limiting the sugared foolishness
from the decay
one can coat themselves in,
survival lies and refrigerator drugs,
until sleep~rest intervenes
what shall I eat,
what shall I choose,
what will be this day's life choices from the menu,
answering daily inquiries from
Oliver and Siri (1),
acknowledging that more-than-occasional slippage will occur,
but taking no true satisfaction
from the periodicself-cheating,
always
daily weigh myself
twice,
first my body,
then, my soul,
upon the rising,
upon the setting*
***to see quantifiable
what I have,
thankfully
yet to gain
by losing***
The World’s perception of Christianity
is generally, an unimpressed disappointment;
we’re viewed as a collection of mongrel mutts,
housed at the local dog pound, foolishly
chasing rainbows for our lost contentment.
Although we’re not domesticated watchdogs,
collared and chained to the Master’s table
while begging for spiritual scraps of Faith,
they believe that we’re hoping for crumbs
to overcome a meager existence, simply unable
to grow and mature with the King’s wisdom.
If we’re not progressing with our victories
and experiences of success, the World’s view
and attitude will not change; therefore, we
need to develop our Faith and testimonies.
I am a stranger
in a strange
land
When asked the time
of day I give numbers
instead of letters
The blank stares
of others
offers no comfort
or help
In a city of well-kept glass,
on roads they’d have you
think were gold, there are
men and women and children
living lives they’d call
“happy”
with a strange feeling
of aloneness,
I cut swath across their
ranks, asking each man
and women and
child:
“what do you mean
you’re happy?”
from the glazed over eyes,
to the obvious lies,
to the corruption and
hatred and greed
above all things I’ve seen
between all things I need
below me I see a great depth
where are the reporters?
the conspirators? the
malcontents? where are
the watchdogs we call
nary-do-wells? or their
brothers the minor
senators? what happened
to religion? and faith
and belief? what happened
to god and to justice?
why are the front doors
closed and the back
doors open? why do
we not look into our
eyes? what happened
to us? all of us? every
one? where have I been
and now gone?
my restless eyes,
quite hypnotized,
cannot comprehend
or think of the
truth
that this land that I’m in,
this one stranger than fiction,
is in fact, my own, and no
other
do we ask for fire?
hell?
damnation?
to die as a thousand
nuclear war heads explode
amongst the clouds?
just because it would
leave a bigger crater?
are we lost
or
do we know our destination?
the oblivion we run
towards faster every
day
what happened to the watchdogs?
the presidents?
reporters?
priests?
are they chained?
muzzled?
or do they bark
at a different moon?
towards armageddon,
forward to the pit,
they howl
that is the place us
holy men must go
am I alone?
am I the last saint?
am I the only one who
can rise above to see
the treasure at the end
of this map?
or am I a man awake
amongst the zombies
fearful of the waking
world?
what have we wrought
what fire
hell
damnation
do we seek
what do we want?
to die?
or die knowing there is
something (if no-one)
to remember?
Come on down
right on down now,
a brand new car,
deluxe washer dryer
brand spankin' new
& all ready to go,
spin that wheel,
turn that square,
answer that question
& gamble that dollar,
Donald J. Trump
has come to town,
the Dealmaker
the Best of the Best,
the All American
gettin' it done
wise & wicked
grinnin' fat cat,
who'll somehow
keep an eye out
for all you smaller
folks as he swings
those roundabouts,
& crosses those t's
& cashes his chips,
Donald J. Trump
will make that dollar,
dig that coal &
bury that pipeline,
negotiate that better
ditch that failure,
scrap that law,
watch out for
that business
& surely curb
those watchdogs,
& money will be
made but not by
you or I or Shirl
or Bob but those oh so
connected & Sheldon's
& Coke Brother's &
Investors & Directors
& Oligarchs & Overseas
Accounts & the select
few who always,
always, seem to
do just fine,
& the pitiful irony
if you will of all
this Making Great
Again & victory
for the Little Man
is that the little
man cast his lot
with someone
who never gave
the slightest ****
& Earl & Nancy
once more get
the short stick,
the bad apple,
the *******
without
the prize,
the pathetic hat
& the broken
soon faded whistle.
I watched "Judgment at Nuremberg" last
night, I have seen that film many times.
However, in light of our nation's current
chaotic political direction, that theme and
topic have taken on a new unsettling and
dire significance. The implied specter of
the term "National Socialism" is all too
ominous.
73 million people died or were murdered in
WWII when a nation of otherwise normal
rational people were ****** in by listening to
a homely, little possibly insane former German
army Corporal rant and rave their nation into
a frenzy of cultism, and "National Socialism".
Through lies and deceptions, Adolf ******
plunged the entire world into a chaotic and
destructive war.
I can't be the only one to see and be deeply
concerned by the undeniable significance and
similarities of our current parallel direction
towards a National Socialism agenda?
Inspired and led by the newly appointed wonky
cult of administrative dimwits and their newly
self-anointed unstable KING, that appear not
to give a **** about our laws, our Constitution
or any of us as individual free citizens.
Our US government watchdogs the Congress
and Senate seem to have lost their direction and
patriotism, grown spineless and mute under the
spell or fear of King Trump.
Wake up America!
We are headed in a very bad direction.
gritted teeth, paving
the sidewalks where we
told each other that this
had gone too far.
market lights illuminating
the cascade of mistakes - lies
we told ourselves at night
to keep afloat
treading water until dawn.
with a cry, savior!, so
soft we could not hear it ourselves,
if our, savior!, did hear
would he bother to save!
two watchdogs disguised as
masochists waiting for
the other to leave
the flock behind,
or would he look
the other way, knowing
that we can't be, saved!
unless we want to
save! ourselves
