"volumes" poems
Keep it honest, maintain it humble. Let it show... From deep within... Fabricate if you must, adorn with tassels. First know the seed before you begin. Let it sprout wings, in your cradle. Let soar from emotions and thoughts akin. Let honesty shine forth from the rubble, Let humility speak in volumes of what we mean.

Smiles
when a boy shows you his hands bare except for the dust he’s begging you to look past take them in yours. squeeze them once. twice. say without speaking that you understand that the valleys in his palms were meant to cradle shooting star wishes that he’s allowed to still hope for. when a boy shows you his eyes of milk and crimson and melanin a bloodshot vein for every night he can’t sleep let him shut his eyelids. say without speaking that you understand that the black hole pinpricks of his irises hold more than the universe should allow. when a boy shows you his soul shivering but still working toward friction iced over but still working toward melting let him come to rest next to yours. say without speaking that you understand that he is lonely and that his silence speaks volumes and that you kept his treasure close because you love him. when a boy shows you his hands show him your hands. when a boy shows you his eyes show him your eyes. when a boy shows you his soul show him that this is a comfortable place to rest it. when a boy shows you the hardness that shaped him show him the softness that you have in store.

to the boy whose poem i saved
The landlord rented his space. The landlord became suspicious. He received complaints from other tenants, Within a couple of weeks about loud music And laughter coming from her room. Banned from having friends in their home, People would arrive in a van nightly during the summer. The details of which emerged in the trial of insurance businessman, Who was accused of helping her, Without their knowledge. She accused the abuse after a plea. His mercy, Her punishment. ‘The past is still very much a reality’ she whimpered. Forced to watch for five months, The wolf spoke as she faced the hearing Without a translator. They are forbidden to speak. For her first 23 years, she was tortured. Anti-social behaviour is having more than two people in his head, Playing music so loud, That it can be heard, Outside of him. The only person to feel the same resigned. The landlord asked the hound to verify the affair. He handed two leather-bound volumes containing a map of the marks. It was on that day, The landlord took the decision to leave seriously. Once known, He made the claim and gave no hint as to the tenant’s identity. Up for a chance to win, We wish you safe travels.

8. Render Loyalty
She's an alphabet artist she paints in words, from a palette of adjectives, nouns and verbs, the landscape she finds in the folds of her mind she exhibits in volumes of verse.

Step one, the first steps... So Joyful was I of every single stride, Impossible for me to hold back my teary eyed fatherly pride... Not much more through the years could I have said with genuine adulation, At times though a fathers words unspoken, will express volumes about his deepest hearts jubilation... A balance of tenderness tempered with sympathy, things that have to take first place. Discipline... must come in a way that will heal without any harmful trace. To be a father is sincerely like nothing else, To actually understand what our heavenly father feels and makes his heart melt... Fatherhood, Fatherhood to me please be kind, I beg you make the memories of my child's heart always desire to rewind... J.I.F. 1 Corinthians 13:8a 8 Love never fails.

An enigmatic smile she’s dressed with to chant mystery, Poets and bards with their magical poesy tried the mystery, Philosophers and thinkers broke their minds to unravel the secrecy, Scientists and law makers built hypotheses and verdicts to read hers, Painters and sculptors fatigued with their colours and clay, Actors and directors enacted to unknot the thread of obscurity. Odes and epics, long-written, attempted to sing Lisa’s Smile; But reflections of their beloveds’ smile read in their verses, Philosophies and thoughts expressed in huge volumes; But less understood even the painter’s invention, Theories and laws built around Science and Law; But little is the outcome of their propositions sans the mystery, Colours and clay played on mighty imaginative realms; But Mona Lisa ne’er spoke of her mystery Smile. Enactments on massive stages thrilled the collective audiences; But Mona Lisa hid the mystery of her Smile. I walked around the garden of poetry with fragrance of mystery, I saw a poem in her distinctive beauty ruling my mind’s eye. She smiled at my heart and in turn my heart smiled at her, Her smile taught me a mystery and it took time to read it; Yet there was a veil betwixt us, and I took my plume to write. She took my heart unto her, and I romped in joy. She’s been decked with melody and rhymes, And the string of verses stretched beyond the horizon, Where the mystery of Lisa’s Smile be found. She took me with her beyond the horizon, And I followed her with no utterance till our destination. She laughed at me for my silence; Yet she smiled unto me; but her smile looked unfathomable. She smiled and smiled at me; yet she had no utterance for me; She looked a little bit puzzling unto me, and I had no answer; Yet her smile dwelled in me, and I invoked the Muse of Poetry. “Thou art to be a silent lover, and her smile is the answer unto thee, She’s the Mona Lisa; she can’t speak, but smile and smile.” I lay on the soil of the kingdom of poetry, imbibing Lisa’s Smile, I adorn her smile; I worship her smile; I revere her smile, Let me not move away from the garden of poetry Till Lisa’s Smile is translated unto me. I waited and waited and I found the answer: Lisa smiles and her smile is the love of silence. My heart rests in silence that her love is felt within. She uttered into me:”Speak not, but love with smile, And that the mystery of my Smile and my Smile lasts.” I know why Mona Lisa smiles. She loves me with her silent Smile.

A final inhalation, farewell to oxygen submitting to oblivion a conscious lack of everything. The very absence of air, sickening and desolate, destitute, despairing tearing at my aching lungs, my vacant mind. Call me a vagabond, a wanderer entrapped in the extrasensory. My breath escapes.  The empty core within myself rings in tune with the extant and extinct. Neck arching, mouth agape a single note transcends my lips of stone unadulterated, unwavering, a melodious sound  building and joining in harmony to create a symphony of life, of death, of everything we cannot comprehend.  Sonorous and assonant my soul cries out at ever-growing volumes. My eyes begin to flicker and fade away. God, can You hear my screams in space in this vacuum, void of sound?

I wished for you excessively.   greedily.      immeasurably. I craved you for days on end and finally,    finally. I got to see the way your lips form around the precipice    of my name; I felt your hand on my waist as your touch provokes every minute nerve         in my body; I drowned myself in the      depth of your eyes that glisten with wonder as you           decipher the spell you've cast upon me and how it speaks volumes of every    fairytale ever made; and I have had a taste of all of this     I've had you     right within my breadth, just until the warmth     of the rising sun   kissed my eyelids awake, like the tender whisper of the            cosmos or the discordant bellowing of the void    as it reminds me:       You are unattainable. Right then again I was able to      comprehend that you will remain an illusion to me       until our paths cross once more    and in that moment, nothing will be capable of surpassing       the bewitchment    the resplendence the luminance of the mere reality that is you

I remember my old grand dad Always wore his Sunday best We always called him "Poppy" It was always pinned upon his chest For as long as I remember He always had that piece of red Tattered, torn, but sturdy In memory of the dead Echoes in his mind of years Images so real I never asked him what he saw His tears...they sealed the deal A silver screen of vintage flicks In his brain of days gone by Of good times with the friends he had Of the days he saw them die "Poppy" sat out on the porch With his beat up Meerschaum pipe He kept it tight between his lips I never once saw it alight He'd stare out in the distance Seeing things from back in time He'd listen to the voices He never quite heard mine We lost him back in eighty three When "Poppy" got the wire He was the last of his platoon They had just lost Cpl. Squire Echoes in his mind of years Images so real I never asked him what he saw His tears...they sealed the deal A silver screen of vintage flicks In his brain of days gone by Of good times with the friends he had Of the days he saw them die "Poppy" went inside himself Never spoke another word He was back with his old friends As free as a free bird Each year he would get dressed up "Poppy" would go out on parade He never, ever left the house The porch was the longest trip he made On the eleventh of November He'd would polish up his boots And at precisely eleven hundred hours He would stand there and salute Two minutes more of silence From a man who didn't speak But his actions, they said volumes They showed that "Poppy" was not weak Echoes in his mind of years Images so real I never asked him what he saw His tears...they sealed the deal A silver screen of vintage flicks In his brain of days gone by Of good times with the friends he had Of the days he saw them die "Poppy" never left his prison The one he created in his head His world was just the front porch And the life that he once led I remember my old grand dad With his poppy, beat by time It would adorn his chest proudly And I now wear it on mine.

Spring Cleaning

SONNET TRIBUTE: RACHEL BUGG
When you get nostalgia For previous episodes, books, volumes, or songs When you understand the world better By comparing it to a million fictional ones When you obsessively hit the reset button on YouTube Waiting for the next episode or song to come out When you have tons of fictional or celebrity crushes But don't like anyone in your school When you understand the characters Better than the people around you That's when you know you're a fangirl

You Know You're A Fangirl
Still running, never ceasing, she screams silently. the breath escapes as a wisp. Remembering the past command: Take the demon carefully, his sting is heavily laden with sweet addiction. *** soaks through the front of her gown and the bloodied fabrics drain rusty shades into the tepid moon water she spilled before. Break her chains she will not thank you she will despise her freedom and lay waste to paradise with her filthy torn wings. Let her know of her once-natural beauty she will hiss in derision that she is not still stunning as the rose. BLEED, child. You of all creatures were fantastic in visage You have put to waste the precious fragility of your frame Your yellowing teeth speak volumes your mouth should stay sealed. We have no use for ingrate angels that roll in the muck cheaply selling ******* and chemical highs.

My interests include Reading old love poems, And reading the volumes in your eyes. Writing new love poems, And writing our future together in my mind. Drinking hot tea in the middle of summer, And drinking the words that your lips spin together like silk. Listening to the late spring birds, And listening to the heartbeat in my ears when you look at me. Watching the stars in the dead of night, With you in my arms and our bodies breathing together. But my greatest interest above all else, Is just you and every way you make me feel. ~S.C. Kelley

Golden Godfather Rises
Venti, I admire, I wish I was like you who soars through the sky. Free like the bird you are, Unburdened by worries, just like stars dancing at night. venti sits. Up in his statue, He admires the city, that he built. Venti, my sweet, How lovely is it for us to meet, Your green hair, your glowing locks, Please comfort my soul, so my heart will be unlocked. Your voice, your longing stare, I love that you're always waiting there. Your dreams, your goals, I love that you'd rather be free, like the god of wind! You fly happily. Venti, my sweet, stop drinking wine, you're higher than a grape vine. Venti, my sweet, You prevent me from getting enough sleep. my thoughts wander, to your fantasy world I wish to discover. Your calming presence speaks, volumes of comfort, You never fail to bring me relief. May you sleep well. I'll be back for tomorrow before you say farewell. I love your antics, I love your voice. I love that you play with me, I love that you bring me joy. Venti, my sweet, Come have a picnic with me! At Windrise, for an afternoon tea. There's cake, there's biscuits, a lovely day, for you and me. A picnic, with me! I'm sorry, I didn't get you alcohol, I worry about your alcohol capacity. It rains. You once asked me to come out and play, over puddles, in patches of green grass, mist and hay, What a lovely way to spend the day. venti, your beauty is like no other, as pretty as the stars under glistening skies, its no wonder. I fell for your grace, I fell for your personality, how your smile brightens up my day entirely. slander your name, they do, but I shall savor my time spent with you. right or wrong, they dictate, but I shall pay them no mind, as always, my playmate. you live in my mind, however you like. as long as you're happy, I feel peace, basking in the moonlight.

Beauty
This here...my heart is a book Sadness and hope inhabit most pages Marred by past experiences that took Scribbled are the ironies and broken adages Worn pages tainted by the lowest of my days Dark ink leave them smeared and stained Fresh ones stay crisp; free from nays Awaiting dreams and wishes I have not gained Silent are the pages still left unwritten As though I have saved them for something For future chapters yet to happen For you to come and begin your writing Welcome the pen that would herald a new start Imagined it's ink to bear the flightiest notions It would speak in volumes ensnaring the heart It would sing a song with the sweetest of emotions Seep in, dear ink, into my pages past and new Seep through, dear ink, feel free to make your mark Seep strong, dear ink, maybe you could undo Seep true, dear ink, and bring light to the dark But rip not the old for they forever will speak Lessons that are learnt, strength that was bestowed Tears that's been shed, happiness that I seek Gloom that was braved, hope that I have sowed Come, my heart is your book You are the sole pen to my infinite pages Ink are your words that would fill every nook Eternal is the bond that would last through ages This here...the rest of the pages are yours Occupy them as you have in my everyday I was saving them not knowing my course Almost as if I knew you'd come to pen the words you'd say A promise as sure as the sun would rise A promise made as good as the noblest of men My book is open to our laughs and cries As long as you would forever remain my pen

Revelations of the heart regarding how one's money is spent echoes volumes about character and our God-given talents. For Jehovah is far from being poor; He owns the cattle on a thousand hills. He's not into ungodly extortion to keep you from paying your bills. By serving two masters, one will be dearly loved - the other sorely hated; so one can never be truly happy until settling the God and Mammon debate. The wealth of God lies in His Word. His principle of tithing is a mechanism to pour out financial blessings upon us. Therefore, purge your mindset of secularism. Jehovah desires our faithfulness to fulfill our ministry to the Earth. We won't be judged on our daily income - Know that money can never define... Our true worth. Author Notes: FYI - Mammon is the church term for the "God of money".
