[I accidentally deleted this, so now I'm reposting it] This is not an attack, it is expression. *This apparently isn't a very popular subject, but then again, when has popularity changed anyone's mind..* -- **** the 'Selective Service System'; the SSS. It's neo-conscription. FDR made us a deal we couldn't refuse which included a stipulation that about half of us still cannot refuse: Selective Service also known as Peacetime Draft But only for males. Only the males. Not the females, though. Oh, no, not the females; We need the Females to bake the next batch of mindless soldiers/housewives/neoslaves. We need the women to uphold the status-quo. We need our women to remain passive, docile, and beautiful ******* doormats for our glorious and infallible western society. We need our women to be complaint, subservient, sex-starved, archaic-gender-role embodiments. I see it as overtly 'cherry-picking' as well as misogyny both ways; sexist, selfish, and prejudiced on both sides: 'Feminists' (read: Feminazis) claim to plea for true gender equality, but here is my plea: If such is true, where then are their demands for mandatory selective service? Why do they feel above reproach when it comes to the unsavory sides of society? Why do they turn a blind eye to the ******* Draft if they ***** up such a storm about equality? Why is it not a federal offense punishable by a $250,000 fine as well as up to 5 years in prison for a female to not sign their life away to the military from when they turn 18 until at least 25? How is that 'gender equality'? Huh? They, too, are cherry-picking. -

There came a time in the history of Nigeria when she dreamed for independence, There came a moment in the history of Nigeria when she groaned to gain freedom from the British; There came a season in the history of Nigeria when she desired to obtain independence from her rulers. The moment when she groaned for independence, The season when she was ready to groam freedom; The moment when she desired to be independent as a country. The moment when she seeked her elites to stand up and fight for independence, The season when she awaited the voice and appearance of her freedom fighters; The moment whe she believed that independence was ready to answer the call of nature in her country. The moment when she believed to find freedom and independence which as that missing part of her that made her a complete country, The season when she trusted and believed in the treasure called independence; The moment when she hoped and desired to be called an independent and sovereign nation in the history of the world. The moment when she was expectantant of the mother called independence, The season when nothing meant anything to her except for the father called freedom; The moment when she still believe to be an independent country despite foreign exploitations, with the understanding that she could still stand up on her feet as an independent country. She believed that someone who understands her tears and passion for freedom and independence, will arise and fight for her freedom knowing that he will never bear to see her travail in birth for independence. The elites she knew not but believed was out some where fortiing and preparing themselves for independence and fight for freedom. Independence she waited for like an expectand mother of a child, Each step she took was believed to bring her closer to freedom and independence. She believed in freedom and independence for her country and it's occupants, and not colonisation and exploitation from the British colony. She believed in fighting for freedom and independence than dying a coward, She believed in her elites efforts to obtain her independence and sovereignty. She expected her elites to stand up and rage for independence to freedom and sovereignty, which they did when the opportunity and strategy came for them to uphold. She believed that destiny will bring her independence and freedom, when the hour of liberation from exploitation comes. She believed that her pains and heart beat was felt and understood by her elites. The name independence she was passionate about and the fame freedom she was desperate about. The memories of colonisation she groaned to erase and the histories of exploitation she desired to filtrate. The name independence she struggled to uphold and the gain freedom she strived to unfold. Before her moment of independence, she strived to make full proof of her countrie's ambitions, she sort self asset and not self liability. She seeked and desired independence and freedom from exploitaion which she got. Her dignity and hour as a country was restored on that fateful day of October 1, 1960 whe she gained and famed her independence and freedom. She believed in independence and freedom which she got. The death of her elites and freedom fighters was never in vain. This is Nigeria At 53 and she is still a sovereign and independent country.

Stereotypes are a commodity Stereotypically My childhood should be filled with only happiness Happiness because of my color No struggle Struggle should never have confronted me Never should have shown me how to survive Or how to better myself Because me being me I realize I realize the uneducated hide Hide behind stereotypes the unconsciously enforce Enforcing by proving the statistics and stereotypes Statistics and stereotypes that have to have an origin If you judge me by stereotypes You will fail to realize The stereotypes you fight to uphold will never define me I will succeed not because of my color Or because of a stereotype I will accomplish my goals Only because I refuse to let others limit The excellence I can achieve By pushing stereotypes that hold hardly any truth onto me

GENERATION EQUALITY It is equality when you work with her. It is equality when she leads the team. It is equality to see her, think her and call her the boss. It is equality when she promotes her accomplishments. It is equality to pay her the same as him for the same job. It is for sure equality when you give her credit for that brilliant idea. It is totally equality to admit she is more competent so she gets the job. It is equality when she has an opinion and is confident to make it known. It is equality when deciding for herself is norm. It is equality when bias and stereotypes no longer define her. It is equality when her achievements are no longer firsts. It is equality when she is well represented in critical areas of concern. It is definitely equality to treat her with respect and dignity. It is absolutely equality to fight alongside her for peace and justice. It is real equality to be her allie, support her future openly. It is surely equality for her to reclaim and take up spaces. Not just a woman, not just a girl, not just because she is your mother or wife, Not just as your sister or your aunty, not just because she is your daughter, But as the very evident, clear as day Human that she is in this generation and Generations more to come. An integral part of a collective whole, we all need to better uphold. Each one responsible, Each one acting consciously, Each one shaping up, A generation for equality. Belema .S. GENERATION FOR EQUALITY
stand fast raise your warrior arm in splendour and dissent carve the path besieged on all sides; the penance of deviance awaits with open arms embrace the battle cry let it ring in the ears of your foes and their kin fulfill the oathes uphold all that is good in a world of devilment that crawls beneath the skin You are a Viking in this life and the next do not falter your name depends on it; resolution and absolution await only the brave the Viking exists in you do not ignore your dreams until your grave your last breath will be the final kiss upon this world; make it count.

.      ...is a fragile little thing,      that most tend to overlook.      Small word with a **** big meaning*.      Some may uphold it; some may      conveniently have it mistook... Trust...      ...is in the grasp of the unknown      stranger,      that helps you up when you've fallen      down. Trust...      ...is the pact between you and the cab      driver,      as he takes you to where you want to      be, across town. Trust...      ...the bough on which your swing does      sit.      Pray that it doesn't break as you enjoy      its joyous ride. Trust...      ...your cook, hoping in your food he      doesn't spit...      Especially when you've provided      feedback that scuffed his pride. Trust...      ...lays exposed when the keys to your      house you surrender,      to your neighbour who'd keep an eye      while you're away on a retreat. Trust...      ...exists latent in the open palm of your      caregiver...      As a child you'd take his hand so he'd      ferry you safely across the street. Trust...      ...is the unspoken oath that I had thought      we both held sacred...      When I spilled the contents, my heart      couldn't bear much longer. Trust...      ...meant nothing when you took it all for      granted,      when you weakened and succumbed...      ...and then shared with another...

I am much too alone in this world, yet not alone enough to truly consecrate the hour. I am much too small in this world, yet not small enough to be to you just object and thing, dark and smart. I want my free will and want it accompanying the path which leads to action; and want during times that beg questions, where something is up, to be among those in the know, or else be alone. I want to mirror your image to its fullest perfection, never be blind or too old to uphold your weighty wavering reflection. I want to unfold. Nowhere I wish to stay crooked, bent; for there I would be dishonest, untrue. I want my conscience to be true before you; want to describe myself like a picture I observed for a long time, one close up, like a new word I learned and embraced, like the everyday jug, like my mother's face, like a ship that carried me along through the deadliest storm.

I am Much Too Alone in this World
To see beauty by definition, when you gaze upon your reflection. To uphold an image of society, exhausting is perfection. Lost in trance by magazines, she's never made the cover. But I guarantee her beauty, is unlike any other. There's sunshine in her smile, freckles bless her face. She's got a light about her, that consumes this whole space. She says that she's not beautiful, until someone places value to her worth. But she's to blind to realize, she's art upon our earth. Blessed in individuality, she holds her head up high. Not knowing that her beauty, radiates outward and inside.

Submissiveness:        give into man. silence yourself. his word is final. rush to his beck and call when he is angered. we are wrong. man is dominant, and woman is soft. if man is the bone, we are the gushy cartilage cushioning his fall. body dominated and composed of bone, but we are the organs that keep the body functioning. forever being transplanted, while our men are broken. submit. Purity:        save yourself for man. wait for him with all your white so you are not tainted. innocence upheld. it is all for him, only him. wait for him to take it all, whenever he desires. be pure. Domesticity:         the home calls our name. it is our calling. our knees bound to scrubbing, hands tied to kneading because our family needs us. we are to be the slaves of our homes just as we were to the white man. permanency of pressing collars that are not our own. domestic labor. Piety:         we come from the rib of adam. without the presence of man we, ourselves would not exist. for this reason, we worship. we worship to reiterate our purity, to maintain our sanity when others challenge our virtues of womanhood. the lord is our shepherd. we uphold our lord. besides our husbands, he is all that we shall want. womanhood.

Make me your emblem Adopt my colours Let them be seen Through actions and verse Make me your flag Fly me high upon the sturdiest masts Watch me billow with purpose Catching the wind that forever lasts Make me your anthem With truth in words that rings so clear Sing me loud and true Sing me always for all to hear Make me your creed Pledge yourself to always uphold My name in thoughts and writes Emblazoned across as your brand in gold Make me your home Your shelter for when the day's done A safe haven to return to With the setting of the sun Or just... Make me someone... Anyone... So at least I know that I exist Make me a simple somebody in your life Not just a name on a forgotten list

Dear, let me startle you by slinking my hand into your smart, ethical decisions while I touch quite gently ripping to shreds your photon ends. Dear, let me caress your supple virtues and vows until they blow out of proportion merging your interests with mine like the longing of eyes uncanny in its distortion. Dear, let me rip off your clothes as I grip your tight notions ideas slipping carefully into place like a sterile, unflinching blank slate inching towards computed devotion. Dear, let me carry out some foreplay as long as you bend, not break, delightfully stroking the edge of your plate. Dear, let me come so close to your face so close that it becomes blurry. Where are my glasses in all this flurry? Of feelings resembling photo reels on fire shooting flames out the window beyond everything you’ve ever known; beyond anything you desire. Dear, let me kiss you to submission, your brain waves in motion as I twist and slip into them hormones ablaze lighting up for days your synapses recapturing in a binocular haze. Dear, let me flop on top of you like a floppy disk, uploading your lips into my hardrive. Do I make you hard as fire? Slowing burning my hot fingers curling up your robust spine cracking it into chiropractor sublime. Massaging your tired broad shoulders like large sofa ends. Is this keyboard only made for pretend? Dear, let me mind **** you take you and light you brighten your screen uphold and unseen neurons fighting as I whisper ***** words directly into the folds of your tulip ears too large to hear, and Dear, let me engage my rage into a productive haze bolting out words, unheard of for days. Dear, let us become undone together like the battery of a computer rebooting after a hectic hardware phase. Dear, let us breathe and walk through this maze.

Hear ye, hear ye hearken from the medieval times of old where knights in the round once roamed jousting with deeds fought in truth and honor to protect the weak, the helpless, the oppressed with an ideology lurking since the dawn of time that all are born free, unshackled from contrived ordeals only to soar high with the eagles to become one with the heavens and bask in the glory of serving the frailty and holiness of mankind Hear ye, hear ye it’s Merlin conjuring a magical spell for the spirit to behold, to marvel, new stages of self-enlightenment where the essence of the King invades sleeping visions possibly foretelling ominous events awaiting new missions or predestined journeys one must endure to become so bold in knowledge and wisdom offered, living in this world’s mold not necessarily realized, instead shrouded with unimpeded urges akin to the signs found in youth, immaturity, the close-minded Hear ye, hear ye the quest to sip from the Carpenter’s silver chalice and taste charitable love for family, friends, and foes where reckless pride and hatred are speared with the arrow forged in devotion of a noble belief, tempered with selfless feats where the sun rises and sets on the wicked actions of human nature slaughtering the divine lights prematurely, locked within many souls yet crusades against evil continues, no retreat, no regrets, no surrender price to uphold the spirit of Camelot, payment in full, services rendered.

*The fire's glow upon her skin Tantalizing Hair a water fall Black cascades Dripping down her spine My greedy fingers itch Attraction sweet Temptation divine* Just a note here About the movie romance which has us to believe that a lover must be "needed" That without the other we are incomplete And inadequate. I challenge you To find the whole within yourself Retain your own respect and self- value Understand and accept that We are all unique and different And, in that, my friend, there is wonder Joy, independence, freedom We will be attracted to others - but this does not mean reality's touch will be so sweet Attraction does not retain the depth Of your lover supporting you, Comforting you, Knowing you... Attraction is fickle And can be enjoyed as this in itself Watched as it passes through the mind Knowing another with the boundary of trust and friendship, Exposing minds, open and vulnerable, Is a more beautiful and deep connection Than shallow attraction's fulfillment Because attraction does not equal love divine. Or respect, or worth, or support. Only you can grant yourself these things, Retaining the strength to uphold them. There are times to love and learn and nurture - And there are times to be with one's own and grow in strength. There are challenges in love Just as there are challenges in life.

A note on love and attraction
(Author's Note: For those of you who have read "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton, here you go.) I am used to insults after seventeen long years. I should be, I create half of them and suffer through all of the rest. I lived in New York for part of my life, so I am also used to violence. I am able to rebel against everyone, opposing gangs, the Socs, even my own little posse of greasers. They are like brothers to me, and I am willing to lay down my life for them. Not that I'd ever say that out loud. I am not without pride and I have quite the reputation to uphold. I am rough, tough, and a guy you want to have on your side in a rumble. But at the same time, I have seen to much for a kid my age. Fighting, blood, and a good guy getting in trouble with the law for something he didn't do. Death is the worst. I am affected most by this, so I have built up a wall. I am truly the one on the edge of our gang. I am an outsider. I am a greaser, a hood, and proud of it. So you can call me what you want to, but I am used to insults after seventeen long years.

Compassion isn't just a word; it is not a sensation or a behavior. Compassion is a moral; it's a standard to uphold and live by. To be compassionate is to show thoughtfulness and to be caring to people. Being compassionate is to extend humanity a second chances, even if they may not deserve it. The kindnesses shown through being compassionate will extent; this kindness, though sometimes hard to find, is always there. To be compassionate is to be human; however, this humanity sowing is not just what the average person sees every day; it is the light in us, and is the best of what we can be. Everybody has times that they are down and just can't get up; the people that are willing to go out of the way to help these people out and bring them up are what I consider compassionate. Showing compassion can do a multitude of good things; these things being a chain reaction of kindness and love or something as modest as a start to a new friendship. Everyone at some time or another will do something unscrupulous; to be compassionate is to forgive these misdeeds and to give a second chance, no matter how undeserving they may seem. With compassion up held in society the world truly be a better place. The world would be so much better if everyone set aside differences, greed, the anger, the hatred and war; the world if we just showed a little compassion to the population would flourish and be a truly great place.

Extended Definition of Compassion
Morsi stands among his people as an expression of Egypt's democratic will democratically elected his feet are rooted in the constitutional right to rule Morsi has one foot on a pillar of secular democracy promising to uphold Egypt's journey to an egalitarian future this pillar advances the republican ideal that safeguards diversity and a people's liberty to express free will this pillar brought him to office and justifies his right to rule ironically it’s also a pillar that Morsi's guiding philosphy find impossible to suffer Morsi's other foot is firmly planted on a pillar of Sharia sympathies upholding the divine foundation of his rule over this earthly principality Muslim Brotherhood’s cardinal principles undermine the pillar of secular precepts that equally enfranchise all citizens Sharia Laws allows no standing to equal rights of women, religious minorities, LGBT civil liberties and advocates suppression of atheistic and progressive political groups this has riled the democratic sympathies of the Egyptian people Morsi's actions threaten to tip the pillar of secular democracy back into the Nile’s murky waters Morsi's stance is precarious and as his feet slip he realizes he is not the Colossus of Rhodes he believed himself to be discovering it impossible to bestride the pillars supporting incompatible structures the generals have declared a road map for stability that rescinds the constitution, dissolves the parliament and places the military as sole protectorate of the nation is the preservation of a democratic republic more important than the return to the rule of a military junta?   is it more wise to place principles before personalities? Morsi’s next steps are uncertain The pathway of the people’s democratic journey remains unclear the sound of the military’s marching boots grow louder Music Selection: Sweet Honey on the Rock Marching Off to Freedom Land Oakland 070313 jbm

We walked amongst the ruins famed in story Of Rozel-Tower, And saw the boundless waters stretch in glory And heave in power. O Ocean vast! We heard thy song with wonder, Whilst waves marked time. "Appear, O Truth!" thou sang'st with tone of thunder, "And shine sublime! "The world's enslaved and hunted down by beagles, To despots sold. Souls of deep thinkers, soar like mighty eagles! The Right uphold. "Be born! arise! o'er the earth and wild waves bounding, Peoples and suns! Let darkness vanish; tocsins be resounding, And flash, ye guns! "And you who love no pomps of fog or glamour, Who fear no shocks, Brave foam and lightning, hurricane and clamour,-- Exiles: the rocks!"

The Ocean's Song
To Two Nonnas @2007 Linda Barrett We can't afford to go to Italy So you both bring it to us We hear in the music of your names, each syllable coming from your mouths, vocal chords and tongues that dance fast Italian tarantellas from your shared cubicle You both should have been sisters Born on the same month And sailed into America on the same ship. You bring us Italy through your cooking: olive oil drenched cole slaw made zesty with ground pepper and salt, amaretto cookies placed on our desks deep fried calamari rings at the Willow Grove Bennigan's and Italian restaurants in a Maple Glen shopping center. You both embrace us with still strong Nonna arms and crochet bright pink baby clothes for expecting employees. On the weekends, you become bocce ball champs in Montgomery County where Italian is still spoken, To uphold up the old country's heritage This poem comes out from our love to you because just by being our friends we want to save all our pennies to see what Italy is really like.

They tell us not to look into the light. But these are the same people that tell us Not to worry about politics just yet, While they pile onto an unbearable debt That we will have to shoulder when we grow. They tell us not to be so loud, While they have stopped making noise About things that mattered long ago, Leaving those who can’t speak for themselves To suffer injustice in silence. They tell us not to try and change everything, While the traditions they uphold Are helping our society crumble. They tell us not to aim so high, While they settle for what the world Has told them they deserve, Has told them is safe and normal. So I have something to tell them. Are they listening? Yes, there you all are. I dare you to look into the light. I tell you not to look away as I do everything you’ve told me not to. If this is breaking the rules, then rules were meant to be broken, And broken doesn’t mean what I thought it did. I will look into the light. I’m not turning a blind eye anymore. I’m going to seek the light, the truth, the complicated in the world. Looking into the brightness will not blind me, But blindly following a lost generation of settling, Of deafening mediocrity and suffocating quiet, Of hiding your own brightness Would do worse than blind me. It would **** me. Or worse- make me just like you.
