"stargirl" poems
her tightrope was a feather, balance weighing on the tips of wings held suspended above the ground summer skin taut against her bones, thousands of stars threaded beneath each of her freckles she found solace in satellites, the man in the moon winking from his place among the planets she felt galaxies coursing through her veins, the Milky Way bubbling up from her belly and somewhere within -- tiny heartbeats mirroring the shower of asteroids falling from the sky

stargirl
scatter my body among the stars let me float nameless in the sky so your eyes may never know me and your mind will be whole and free but I’ll feel your gaze burning bright (as always as always) from your bench in the garden giving me whatever meaning you decide

stargirl
She is my light in every pitch black evening. Her light cuts through every angle brightening up each part of me. She is my only guide the star I follow to a final destination of home, of happiness of eternal warmth and security. She is my inspiration. The reason I wake up everyday with purpose, with intent of becoming a better me. The reason, I go to sleep with a smile. For every slumber, comes another morning which means a day closer to her. She is my stargirl. :) She is loved. She is yearned for. She is worth waiting and risking for. Yours and only yours, Anne. Your Mims

Stargirl. Letters to Anne 11/03/2013
Allow me to fly far in your arms as the   leaves in the wind, I soar in the tides of the sky, I am lost in the skies above, my soles touch the clouds, the gaze of my soul has seen and known each thing as you, deep is its song in colors of stars, indigo and art, I touch the white fields,   and, there you are, the breath of your embrace opens, I am lost, the roses in your eyes hold me close, understand how you take my heart as your   silent whisper and call, “stargirl, awaken in the chests of those who had never known of their light” I ask, “how can they not know of it”, to which you answered, “the broken souls, they seek and know not of how it was always there” your words became my wings opening, to the darkness, I cry, “surrender!” and all became love, the only home.

The Only Home
What do you want to grow up? A StarGirl! "A StarGirl you shall be", they said giving spraying neon paint on me and letting me stand in the night. But when I stood there they asked me again, "Are you happy?" I couldn't answer. I was too busy shining to know. They washed the paint off me and painted the earth all over me, lying me down, pined to the ground. "Are you happy, now?" I couldn't answer.

what what what
In the right place At the right time On the right day In the northwest sky You can see star girl You can't always see her But she's there Oh, she's there People admire Stargirl from far away But no one sees Stargirl They see 10,000 lights All suspended up in the sky No one sees the 10,000 ***** of gas burning They burn explosively emitting blasts of passion But no one sees those No, one sees her fire They see Stargirl Shining in the sky But not her fire Oh, not her fire They see Stargirl Perched upon a constellation They see her perch But what they don’t see is how precarious it truly is They don’t see the immense amount of weight The weight she balances It’s as if, if she moved The world would come crashing down around her They see the planets the constellations and the stars They see the glitz and the glam The pretty things What they don’t see is the void she floats in. Nobody asks about the pressure Only she, remembers the excruciating pressure. Because all stars shatter Before they show their true colors. She can only hope That one day somebody will look With their mind Not their eyes And see all of her Not just the parts that shine

Star Girl
The train flew past us, we were there, waiting for our time, until, he walked towards where I was to be found, he nestled my body In his arms, I looked up, gazing deeply, I Iistened as he said, you are the one who has not yet known the truth, I will tell you, the one who has been in tears, when you are broken, you will always remember, to love who you are and others, the untold story lies beneath, bring the torn fabric and sew your heart back together, you will heal, as I have always done, you will forget the dew falling, and heal, only then, will you see how love is unconditional, when you see with the heart rather than the eyes, you will see true beauty, let the lost clouds come together, hold hands and make them feel special, warm them with your heart and gently place a tissue on their tears, touch their souls and hold them close, how you want to be loved is how people will love you, you will look at the night with them and say, we are lanterns of the sky, filling the oceans of the universe with the galaxies in our hearts, we are more luminous than we think we are, as the butterfly unaware of the delicacy of its wings, resting under the sun, we are roses opening for the love awaiting them, yet, these hearts are unaware of how they call for their soulmates, not knowing their names, rather, the wind was already within the leaves, creating the music they have known before, the tides becoming one, as your hand becomes the pulse of this heart of mine, I want you to listen when I say, you are a infinite light shining through the cracks, you are, the one and only, stargirl.

I'm a girl of stars not hearts I shine in the dark Yes I explode cause I can't take the heat If you need me to I'll repeat I'm not romantic and yes I can be mean So cold it burns Guess you earned the golden heart But the glitter was just a collage of art And when you erase There is nothing left You see this black mess It's just a void I took my crayons and glitter and gold And tried to decorate my heart and soul I'm a girl of stars not hearts Either way I'm torn apart But I think I'm good I'll just stick to my golden art

Stargirl
Sunflower face Bright eyes Gorgeous smile Sister golden hair She says To call her Stargirl She's free She's the warmth in a spring breeze Yellow all around her A halo of light surrounds her Rainbow lights Lift her up Like a hammock Being carried By invisible forces Up Higher and higher Into the true blue Of an endless sky.

I love space If that isn't obvious By now It's magical The constellations The stars The vastness The beauty I love space It reminds me of you Constellations Remind me Of the freckles Dappled across Your porcelain-like skin Planets Such as Neptune or Uranus The captivating blue Reminds me Of your bewitching eyes Stars Remind me Of you Radiant and glimmering Luminating the darkest hours When I need it Most You're my stargirl Brightening up my night With your glimmer and shine I love space It reminds me of you

Television makes it sound like a fun, 30-60 minute adventure into the lives of our favorite comedy or drama characters. But not for me. For me, an episode swells up through my soul and eats me from the inside out. The story doesn't get a comic relief, or a satisfying arc. All it gets is cyclical, depressed me. Where creativity and dreams once thrived, there lives a barren waste of hopelessness. Its like my body is in constant phasing shifts between dimensions. One place, I'm normal. I'm a writer in a dry spot trying to figure out where to go from here. Another, the world and my mind are boundless and I could be on the precipice of becoming exactly who I want to be, whoever she may be. And the last, everything's been gutted and that shadow of a woman dreaming has been reaped of her happiness; there's nowhere good on the horizen, only desolation. If my moods were a television series, they'd only leave fans dissatisfied and sad. They get to watch a hopeful stargirl dream of the universe only for her body to crush her mind from the inside. Its like watching her sharply get possessed, like watching a hopeful underdog tale with the ghost looming quietly in every shot. Before anyone would know it, this star story turned into a horror-fest. Like this, I'm so tired. I'm not someone wanting to make the world better. I'm not a writer with big, celestial dreams. I'm not a woman on the cusp of adulthood and the truths of her future. I'm a wanderer, lost in the nuclear fallout of her own head. And its exhausting. That's not an episode anyone really ever wants to see.

Spending all this time on the cruel leaves an overall bad feel to my soul Compassion my love You come from trans-cen-dental love Heart space and open chakras I ignore anything but all Vipassana practices I pray Baby girl, you're the world You catch clouds all along the sway Across the way and okay Mindful count as the stars crawl and fall And make a sound out of manner Cause I'm your Stargirl Here to shine and brighten in these very dark times Baby boy, I’m your girl Here to shine and brighten in these very dark times Baby boy, I’m your girl

The sensitive soul Fated to journey The blinding dust of earth Through the spirit unseen Like a porcelain angel A stargirl cries Tears of light The noble language of eyes A pearl of wisdom The blessing in every curse A long dark dream to a sun-filled day Must hope die here In this land of tears To water our future gardens.
