"sportsman" poems
When winter's glaze is lifted from the greens, And cups are freshly cut, and birdies sing, Triumphantly the stifled golfer preens In cleats and slacks once more, and checks his swing. This year, he vows, his head will steady be, His weight-shift smooth, his grip and stance ideal; And so they are, until upon the tee Befall the old contortions of the real. So, too, the tennis-player, torpid from Hibernal months of television sports, Perfects his serve and feels his knees become Sheer muscle in their unaccustomed shorts. Right arm relaxed, the left controls the toss, Which shall be high, so that the racket face Shall at a certain angle sweep across The floated sphere with gutty strings--an ace! The mind's eye sees it all until upon The courts of life the faulty way we played In other summers rolls back with the sun. Hope springs eternally, but spring hopes fade.

The Sometime Sportsman Greets the Spring
141 Some, too fragile for winter winds The thoughtful grave encloses— Tenderly tucking them in from frost Before their feet are cold. Never the treasures in her nest The cautious grave exposes, Building where schoolboy dare not look, And sportsman is not bold. This covert have all the children Early aged, and often cold, Sparrow, unnoticed by the Father— Lambs for whom time had not a fold.

Auden wrote "weep for the lives your wishes never led." But I think it's better to be happy instead. Why need I shed tears and feel such regret? I've the rest of my life to achieve better yet. I might not be sportsman, I might not be a star, I may not be rich or drive a flash car, I may not be known in my own local bar, But who is to say that I won't travel far? "Wheat is wheat" Van Gogh once said, "Even if, at first, like grass it seems." I've amazing things inside my head, And I can paint my dreams And oh, my friends! The things I dream Would make you laugh and cry As they focus on the age-old theme; The persistant question- Why? Sometimes I'm the cat who's got the cream, Others; a web entangled fly. It matters not much what I do, Much more so what I think, So to quote the great W.C.Fields; "I believe I'll have a drink."

I Am Worth Something
Daddy says join the football team. Daddy says answer me when he talks. Daddy says be the best. Daddy says be a man. ||| But I wish not to be a footballer. Or any kind of sportsman. I wish to write. I wish to read. ||| As much as I long for the words. The ones that form in my head. They cannot be spoken. They cannot be heard. ||| Being the best is what I want. Yet it is so hard if you know not what the best is. I am not the best. I am never the best. ||| How am I to be a man if no-one will show me what a man is. My father is a strange man, one who beats his son. My father is not a man. My father is not a man. |||

925 Struck, was I, not yet by Lightning— Lightning—lets away Power to perceive His Process With Vitality. Maimed—was I—yet not by Venture— Stone of stolid Boy— Nor a Sportsman’s Peradventure— Who mine Enemy? Robbed—was I—intact to Bandit— All my Mansion torn— Sun—withdrawn to Recognition— Furthest shining—done— Yet was not the foe—of any— Not the smallest Bird In the nearest Orchard dwelling Be of Me—afraid. Most—I love the Cause that slew Me. Often as I die Its beloved Recognition Holds a Sun on Me— Best—at Setting—as is Nature’s— Neither witnessed Rise Till the infinite Aurora In the other’s eyes.

Hopeful maiden, Mistress of cotillions, Depthless, devoid of culture, Unquestioning, incurious, Seeks her warrior-beast-of-burden, A man's man, a sportsman of sorts, Yet sensitive and without ego, A staunch provider, Seeking beauty for its own sake, A coy, coltish fawn, un-artful, Un-fawning, who cannot keep a house, Hold her tongue nor navigate Social gatherings, one whose passion Is only on offer, never proffered, She seeks an old fashioned man Who appreciates her Mannish manner and business Acumen— artists, musicians, And above all penurious poets Need not apply, I wish To learn to cook one fashionable Day, I am working on Being famous, it is such A burden being lovely, Beautiful. **What if, i didn't find my calling? Do you love me the way i am?** Neither very attractive, Nor hardworking. Neither a sportsman, Nor a marksman. Neither an engineer, Nor a doctor. Neither a poet, Nor an artist. Neither a boon, Nor a bane. Do you love me the way i am? My grades are not upto the mark, Yet i could be much more than you could ask! People call me vain, Passions none to name. May not fulfill dreams cherished by you, May not walk on the path shown by you! Do you love me the way i am? All what my peers have is better than mine! For me, unconditional love is just fine! Oh my dear parents! Am i not worthy? **Maybe someday I'll find my calling! Till then, please love me the way i am?**

Just Mien Pap Smeared Vapid Yawping
Filled with the fullness of measure Of Christ, the wholeness of his stature In grace, endowment and wisdom-- No faliure alibi hast thou to tender Why you can't glitter in thy kingdom Calling in life, be it as a preacher, Sportsman, teacher, trader or musician, Save you are super fool--a politician That fritters away the flourishing treasure Of his country: promising always an elephant With vain bogus budgets and speech lofty; But for maze, could only deliver folks an ant. But here are the effulgent stars: Lo, Behold *baba Adeboye! see *bishop Oyedepo! Thy own gift can shine for the entire earth Also to see, without comparing thine glory With another's, focusing on the blessed berth Of heaven, when your labour and life cease.

Here are the Stars!
Oh baby, prepare yourself for a fitting tribute at the hands of my lyrical ability. I will rhyme effectively much as a successful sportsman might employ his talents in order to win a tournament of some kind. Indeed, my mastery of rhythm and rhyme will be such that you will find yourself very powerfully attracted to me. Girl, you put me in mind of a famous celebrity noted for her physical beauty. If you were, let's say, a car, you would be a really good car. The sort of car I would wish to own and drive. Not convinced? Then let me assure you that I can easily put paid to my rivals by deploying the linguistic and musical prowess which I believe I mentioned above. Oh yeah. Incidentally, I would think nothing of expending quite considerable sums on nice things to give you. That would be nice, wouldn't it? So, baby, if these enticements are sufficient to stir your interest in me then I would be delighted to exchange contact details or something. Oh yeah.  Get down.

The strive in life is forever a race We line to hear the sound of barking guns We in sprinting blocks, the sweat in face Because we know we have to be number one We feel that spark, arise to sprinter’s stance The hands to box the air, to grab that inch. We fall behind, and think we lost that chance. And then we see the one in  front of us flinch This chance  is close  and so illustrious The finish line is coming up too fast to stop. As we approach, a burst of legs beats us. And we receive medals, but not the top. To have the grace in loss is important Because winning is great, but its better to be a sportsman.

Boy, oh boy Will boys be boys And oh boy, that’s gross to say, I at least get that, I mean I try to but here’s to trying Kind of like trying to speak for women Or anyone that isn’t you, you should just not do that… There’s a difference in defense for the good of all And then, there’s what we were talking about 50 ******* years ago Oh, excuse me 30 ******* years ago, Last ******* year… 2 ******* days ago… OK RIGHT THE **** NOW… But I really want to go back to 69 Oh, The Summer of love… Or the summer of forcing a woman to go to court over the ability to receive an abortion only to be decided by a group of old men if she has any rights over her body to receive a safe medical procedure, all while the media doing no one any favors guiding a blind division nationally between people and God fearing busy bodies, calling her names and questioning her character as a responsible person, in a not very god-fearing tone, all while forcing Ms. McCorvey again, to get burned more for prolonging an unwanted pregnancy due to waiting on a decision that is determined in court by that aforementioned group of men, which is like the sportsman’s equivalent of just killing the clock to win a game but it isn’t a ******* game it’s a woman’s body, which clearly they didn’t care anything about just as long as they get that **** baby in the next 6 months or so, but as stated above it is indeed unwanted, so really who is going to take care of the ******* baby because we know how much people just love adopting ******* children? Let’s ask 25 republicans! But some people talk of 69 differently, Some remember the Beatles. Some recall Charles Manson. Kind of like today Some say we are putting god back in our government And The rest of us in 1972 to 2019 are wondering who the **** invited god? I never knew God and every white person’s, “one uncle” has the same opinion. Amazing! But Uncle Alabama shouldn’t speak for God. Wait until he finds out she’s a woman. That’d be a kick to the unregulated nuts we can just spew anywhere, like a natural ******* disaster. That’s what the name of this ******* poem should be, but it’s not. Sincere, ******** That’s what I call this one, That’s what I call the last 2 and half years too. And this poem. And telling women what to do with their bodies. Some people would think differently. But I don’t think some people think.

Thou art now subject to moral decay, Moral display is factored in thy oddjob list, Wherein snob-ball Lisp's are sumblime in groupie sets!!!! Woe to be pondered, Sky's souly to be wandered through broken holed boat's, To neat-nice pottery stinking nets!!! Astute loons maketh their graces high and mighty, Where tribes stay rewinding their beginning end's of birth, Art thou a leader from many kingdom's? Or a lubricant to zealous curse!!!!! Spoon's replace knive's, Deadly sin to replace wive's, Crimes against humanity puppeteer the market's trail, Crumb's reach the helpless, whilst snarling dog's drag tail!!!! Embankments to fit the streamed beauties, Where prestine muting is sound fit to cold coated bones!!! Infrequency goes higher to the laughing in lover's valley, Wherein pin's to sportsman's ball goes rallied, Tallied up zero to zero four score!!! None makes a difference if thou art the lonely beggar at loves lost door!!!! A premium stands by for the serpent who make's it's pass, Crawl through the fiery hole thou stained creature, Step out betwixt the cities of the now and forever future!!!!

752. Inner soul haunts
She had that "impress me" vibe over her. If only she could be impressed by anything I knew about. If only she cared of my dazzeling good looks. And my smooth lines. If only I could make her head turn. But she never looked. I could never say anything That stirred her heart. She was that conquest we all wanted But could never have So we never admitted to really wanting her. she's not that easy, she's too smart And boy was she ever smart. Nothing I could do, surprised her. She was one step ahead. So I took her down, like a good sportsman Or hunter who takes down a gazelle. But she never quivered. She never admitted that anything I had done Really impacted her. She smiled like statues smile She looked right through us Like an x-ray scanner And we felt small Insignificant. And we took distance She was the only thing I could never figure out completely. She was the hero Who never showed her face And Villain who never told anyone She had a beautiful heart aside a beautiful face. The illusion of a woman was embodied within her.

Life...
Historic day for the world today As Trump and Kim sign away Nobel Peace prize guaranteed for Trump As North Korea will rise out of their sanctions slump Nuclear disarmament surely on its way But to me it just feels like I'm watching a screenplay Dennis Rodman a friend of both A great sportsman but a bit of an oath But what if it was all a total farce Trump phoned Kim said test those nukes and make things worse I'll then scream and shout and call you names Don't worry if internet is full of our memes The world will sanction you it'll look really bad It'll be ok mate soon we'll both be glad We'll both back down and agree to meet I'll sort it out and send you a tweet Then in Singapore we'll sit down together And people will talk about us more then the weather Without the charade it would have never been allowed We'll do it in front of a nice big crowd North Korea will surely come out of poverty And the world will avoid our prefabricated atrocity Is the world now a safer place I'm still not convinced for the human race
