Kurds Seeking Democratic Autonomy
Morsi stands among his people as an expression of Egypt's democratic will democratically elected his feet are rooted in the constitutional right to rule Morsi has one foot on a pillar of secular democracy promising to uphold Egypt's journey to an egalitarian future this pillar advances the republican ideal that safeguards diversity and a people's liberty to express free will this pillar brought him to office and justifies his right to rule ironically it’s also a pillar that Morsi's guiding philosphy find impossible to suffer Morsi's other foot is firmly planted on a pillar of Sharia sympathies upholding the divine foundation of his rule over this earthly principality Muslim Brotherhood’s cardinal principles undermine the pillar of secular precepts that equally enfranchise all citizens Sharia Laws allows no standing to equal rights of women, religious minorities, LGBT civil liberties and advocates suppression of atheistic and progressive political groups this has riled the democratic sympathies of the Egyptian people Morsi's actions threaten to tip the pillar of secular democracy back into the Nile’s murky waters Morsi's stance is precarious and as his feet slip he realizes he is not the Colossus of Rhodes he believed himself to be discovering it impossible to bestride the pillars supporting incompatible structures the generals have declared a road map for stability that rescinds the constitution, dissolves the parliament and places the military as sole protectorate of the nation is the preservation of a democratic republic more important than the return to the rule of a military junta?   is it more wise to place principles before personalities? Morsi’s next steps are uncertain The pathway of the people’s democratic journey remains unclear the sound of the military’s marching boots grow louder Music Selection: Sweet Honey on the Rock Marching Off to Freedom Land Oakland 070313 jbm

AKHI, JIKA BENAR ENGKAU MENCINTAI ISTRIMU... Ijinkan dia berdakwah... Berkumpul dengan akhwat seperjuangan.... Relakan kepergiannya ke berbagai majelis ilmu... Sekalipun itu mengurangi waktunya, untukmu... Banyak suami salah prioritas... Istrinya boleh bekerja di luar rumah... Bebas beraktivitas jika hasilnya menunjang ekonomi keluarga... (QS. Az-Zukhruf, 43: 70) ‪#‎women‬ and sharia

Ya Akhi
The Sun in Sudan is unkind. There beauty withers into dust. The people there are primitive, Their ways are alien to us. A Christian woman, eight months pregnant, Has been condemned to lash and rope. convicted by Sharia law. Our outrage is her earthly hope. For Meriam refused to yield, In Jesus she maintains her trust. She would not convert by force To a cult that seeks control of us. A modern day Antigone, condemned to death because of faith. A prisoner of Conscience, she, Like the Lamb, endures their hate. She is not clothed as with the Sun. The child she bears, no Savior King. She’s labelled an adulteress though she wears her husband’s ring. Her faith provides no easy path, that often is the way of things. Like all those Martyrs who came before her, She puts her trust in Christ the King.

For Meriam, A Prisoner for Christ
He is ancient steadfast I am sure he was here when the world was created I am sure he will be here when it ends His gentle face carved with hard lines He poured forth knowledge in his native Persian tongue He called me Shohre I learned it was his sister's name He looked at me like a granddaughter and treated me just as sweet “Ghabl az enghalab...” Before the revolution... After which would follow painful reminiscing of The days before the current regime When wine bubbled out from Shiraz Men and women danced late into the night And soft voices wove love songs in street cafes “Ghabl az enghalab moalem dar daneshgah boodam.” Before the revolution I was a university professor. “Yeki az daneshjooyanam Ahmedinejad bood.” One of my students was Ahmedinejad. And in English, clear as hate, “He was a ******* One night I stayed back for extra lessons We ate cherries from Costco and Read excerpts from his autobiography Pages crafted from right to left, vignettes of His military service in Mashhad And consequent teaching career “Ba'ad az enghalab...” After the revolution... Was always followed with war stories Political dissidents lost to Evin prison Sharia law imposed on moderate minds Escaping Iran by night with a phony visa “Ba'ad az enghalab dar ketabkhane bayad kar konam” After the revolution I had to work in the library. “Khoastam yad bedahm, pas man o zanam be Amrika raftim.” I wanted to teach, so my wife and I came to America. He has not been home since 1981. On December third of 2009 he walked smugly into the classroom Setting a tape player happily on a desk. He opened a folder from right to left Produced a well-worn cassette And played Happy Birthday, in Persian, for me. He smiled at me with hands folded throughout the song As I’d imagine he had smiled at All the other special women in his life named Shohre. He never played Happy Birthday for any of the other students. Or gave them cherries, Or went to their weddings, Or held them while they cried when their grandfather died. I do not know what he saw in me But in each other we found family years and miles away from home.

As militant Mullahs mutter and pray And plan their Mosque near ground Zero Protesters march and people say: “This isn't right! They'll have to go.” But let's demur and make no noise No tears, no threats, no signs approve. It would profane our civic faith To tell the Mullah he must move. The Towers’ fall brought harm and fear Men reckon what that did and meant; But building a “cultural Center” near Though demonized, is innocent. Dull couch potatoes of the Right Those ditto heads who can't admit Tolerance, cause it doth reprove Those thoughts that have them in a snit. But we, my love, are so refined that we ourselves don't care one whit. Let them build it, come what may But build a brothel next to it. Two buildings place there, cheek to cheek: the Mosque and “Annie’s House of Pain”. One dealing with things spiritual, The other deals with things profane. In both, salvation is for sale It seems to me a perfect fit. For do not both invoke God's name? -and both, I fear, use whips a bit. students at the Madrasah may hear the cries of Joy next door on her mattress, hard at play While they use prayer mats on the floor. . Will they too prove as tolerant? Live and let live, for now- they say When they enforce Sharia law, The folks next door will learn to pray.

What's Done is Done
O Tree of art! let me give you ample sunshine. Let me give you plenteous water, I pray you grow tall and wide, I pray your branches grow day and night, I pray you bear fruits bright, but be cautious, make sure your branches don't cross boundaries of sharia, For beyond its boundaries thier is blazing hell fire.

O Tree Of Art!
Rights are inconvenient things, I’m sure you must agree. Why guns remain in private hands is quite the mystery. Felons will turn in their guns I’m sure, without a peep. (Tyrants always take the guns Before they slaughter sheep) Once you cannot defend your rights Who cares what you think or say? Harry Bellefonte thinks You should be locked away. Wouldn’t trials be quicker, Would not be justice served, If truth serum was administered Instead of oaths with words? Your guns and your religion are quaint relics of the past. Sharia law is coming, Beheadings ought to be a blast. You clamor to give up your rights. The leftists are amused. The ****** of the innocents For their purpose will be used. Quite soon you will be powerless before the Almighty State. When you fall ill some bureaucrat will sign off on your fate. A land without the Bill of Rights- It ought to give you chills! Your birthright gone, your children slaves of the Marxists on the Hill.

The Bill of Wrongs
I-I-I want to put her head on a robot's body; I want to be w/ u @ midnight maybe, the sentences white men get is too slight; prisons should be filled w/ them--- Bandy in negligee quite a wide-eyed wonder--- Her eyeballs full of goldfish, the neighbors who walks the hall w/ no clothes on--- in the Pyongyang condo she reads the NYT delivered by the tall, bearded boy who doesn't want to draw attention to his naturally silver hair he wears in a pompadour beneath an American baseball cap; She sits in the stairwell & smokes cigars & he joins her when the lights go out which is often--- Trump's self-sabotage is rooted in his perceived sense of failure; never enough, never good no matter how high, enough---he's made of gold & it's only a black hole--- He's a kook, crazy & mentally unfit 4 office; when cross-dressing her bra can't be **** but u never know--- She's calling outside my window & complains my room is freezing (364 - 58) All the Jews want to move to Israel; from my window I can see the fortress-settlements in the red hills---garrisons of Palestinian girls, A loaded Palestinian girl knocks on the door holding a bottle of gin; I let her in, violating Sharia law she lies down & pets the cat---

Mistakes and Ramblings
The Congressman said fluoride in the tap water would effectuate Sharia law. The Congressman said immigrants would hire water sommeliers. The Congressman said immigrants open froyo shops on every corner. The Congressman said immigrants suckled like a dewy, famished baby. The Congressman said terrorists suckled on the **** of welfare and secretly ran things. The Congressman said Season 2 of The Wire was the best one, beyond question. The Congressman said net neutrality would stifle board game night, blot out the imagination. The Congressman said that true patriots were never neutral. The Congressman said that drag queens were using the library, checking out books. The Congressman said Taco Tuesday was fake news, a grand globalist conspiracy. The Congressman said big government was coming for your houseplants and moist towelettes. The Congressman said big government was the enemy. The Congressman said terrorists were the enemy. The Congressman said immigrants were the enemy. The Congressman said the other was the enemy. The Congressman said anyone who would order $7 avocado toast was the enemy. The Congressman said anyone who read newspapers was the enemy. The Congressman said that anyone who fact-checked a politician’s statements was the enemy. The Congressman said enemies would burn the Constitution in a pile of seized towelettes. The Congressman’s challenger said she got death threats and promptly dropped out. The Congressman said she was lying, there were no threats. The Congressman said she was really a liar all along. The Congressman said he had tried to warn everyone.
