"sandiest" poems
Cradle my emotions in the gentlest of whispers Lace my heart with sultriest of ribbons Fill full my sail with the worthiest of winds Engulf my being in the sweetest of notions Colour me beautiful with the most vibrant of rainbows Propel my universe into the farthest reaches Soothe my aches with the most abundant love Carry my vessel to the sandiest of beaches Embed my thoughts within the fluffiest clouds Let soar my dreams on the bravest of kites Set my destination in the furthest horizons Present me with life's buffet with the tastiest of bites

Don't Wake Me
Along the city’s second longest street At the end of its second longest month Walked a woman, in plaid, Lugging an incongruous antique lamp Toward the sun. In the desert, the dunes, The piles of grains of sand, Are constantly rearranged, Redistributed, reconciled by the winds-- Are, in short, in flux-- Are never what they once were, And never will be again. When the wind’s favor, for a while, Aggrandizes a particular pile, Does it look down upon its fellows? Does it call itself a king, and proclaim, “Bow before me, for I am the mightiest, The grainiest, the sandiest Of all possible piles of grains of sand; For I have, I am more of nothing Than you will ever understand”?

Piles of Grains of Sand
* Forgiving doesn't always take away the pain As if washed away by some mythical rain Generously applied truth is the only salve Duel-edged and sharp enough to cut us in half Pain-reaction, recoil, trauma response Defensive action, budding trust is lost This is normal human behavior PTSD drains, Hope is savior Catalyst for anxious dread Water in the desert when nearly dead Grateful hands lift life to lip Thankful for the sandiest sip Kindness inspires compassion and understanding starts Enlightening dark corners in sunlight and healing the heart *

Action
Under the grayest of skies On the sandiest of shores With the saltiest of seas Did we lay. Hand in hand Heart to heart Soul to soul Nothing separating us but fear. Let the birds of the sky Or the fish of the ocean Bear witness to what would be, Two bodies becoming one In a castle by the sea. No place forbidden No scar unseen My only desire, to love And be loved By he. When the sun set The tide came in And my love was swept into the sea. And there was no soul In all of forever Quite as lonely as me. Alone by the sea In our kingdom by the sea.
