"puffed" poems
So the day I say I'm done, and finished with it all.. Was the same day that the house of cards I built began to fall, Karma huffed and puffed and blew it all away, Whether i deserved it or not? well its hard to say, I need to take it easy but im living life the harder way , Living life day to day - there's gotta be a better way, Love Drunk from the potions from Amy's wine house , I sobered up but it was only to find out - Your lion-like roars turned to Microsoft words, I was in my own word - she was in hers, No, I'm not modest and dishonesty's a problem for my nerves, Approach the point of no return? We def on the verge, Better yet the brink, and to think, our past you rubbed away - Washed down the metaphorical sink, And now all sounds of trouble power point to YOU, My mind is now tainted, as you are in my point of view, I'd hate to break the glue we used to make the news, But i have to go away from you - Later boo..

Daddy liked his whiskey Momma liked her smokes Momma cursed like crazy Dad told ***** jokes To all the people 'round here They was ordinary folks Momma puffed on camels Dad drank whiskey cokes I dropped out of high school By the time I was fourteen I had no direction And I got mighty mean Sis, she had two babies But neither one was seen And to all the people 'round here We were just both normal teens The apple doesn't fall far from the tree You do not want to grow and be like me Listen to what I tell you, don't you do the things you see The apple doesn't fall far from the tree Nope, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree When ever there is fighting Folks 'round here go blind They all have got their secrets they don't want us to find That apples in around their house Are not quite as designed It's best to look at others For the truth, it isn't kind Momma kept on smoking Daddy drank his rye sis and I both left here No one ever asked them why Nothing changes ever so nobody will try and all the folks around here live inside this little lie The apple doesn't fall far from the tree You do not want to grow and be like me Listen to what I tell you, don't you do the things you see The apple doesn't fall far from the tree Nope, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree

Apple doesn't fall far from the tree
Her scarf a la Bardot, In suede flats for the walk, She came with me one evening For air and friendly talk. We crossed the quiet river, Took the embankment walk. Traffic holding its breath, Sky a tense diaphragm: Dusk hung like a backcloth That shook where a swan swam, Tremulous as a hawk Hanging deadly, calm. A vacuum of need Collapsed each hunting heart But tremulously we held As hawk and prey apart, Preserved classic decorum, Deployed our talk with art. Our Juvenilia Had taught us both to wait, Not to publish feeling And regret it all too late - Mushroom loves already Had puffed and burst in hate. So, chary and excited, As a thrush linked on a hawk, We thrilled to the March twilight With nervous childish talk: Still waters running deep Along the embankment walk.

I am a fortress. I have withstood wars that should have broken me. Burned down and decimated by the mindless, I rise up from the ashes. I stand with my body, eternally. I am strong. My thighs are battle grounds trodden down three times round and they're blooming new flowers, mending from those who fought over them far too long, my thighs have super powers. I am soft and sultry sweet, full of vulnerabilities. Nature proves if anything that this will never make me weak. My eyes once snuffed out are blazing brilliant brightly now, rivers of tears have been filled in, replaced by peaches and cream and skin. My arms are solid protective forces, my hands, tangible whispering caresses. I wear my broken bits on my ******* puffed out chest with pride, for I have nothing to hide. My feet take me to and from all the places I've ever gone, and my mind, my mind, it tries. It tries so ******* hard, and my heart cares so much that it shows in every scar and battle wound, in every mark that was ever taken as a flaw by boys who never saw that without the storms I wouldn't glow the way that I glow, every boy who told me to 'go with the flow' like I couldn't learn a **** thing for myself. Still, the lessons people preached did teach me a thing or two, just not what they usually intended, my face doesn't face up to face value, belief is most beautiful when suspended. My eyes see lies better than my thighs do, yet resilience sees to it that both are mended, but if there's anything I've ever learned that's true, you should never leave anything open-ended

The tavern roof was smokey with a pall of blueish ash. The juke box was a- booming as it played "The Monster Mash". A giant puffed a burning witch whilst smoke rings he exhaled.... While victims of our neighbor, Vlad...on stakes were all impaled. The Faceless Man was grinning... from ear to missing ear. The hanged man turned his twisted neck to sip a mug of beer. The Headless Horseman shouted for an aspirin or three. He popped them down his gullet where his head was meant to be. The zombies waited tables and the werewolf tended bar. Mothra was the carhop and took orders car to car. Godzilla worked the griddle and served burgers ala carte. Dracula complained about the steak caught in his heart. Ghosts and ghouls were dancing with abandon on the stage While cyborgs did "the robot" 'cause they thought it was the rage. The mummy came unraveled as we took him for a "spin" As Frankenstein played tuba to contribute to the din. Igor brought "the monster" and then Freddie brought his claw. Jason brought his butcher knife and his buddy from "The Saw". The guillotine was working and the raven refereed So nevermore would pardons be allowed to intercede. The pendulum was swinging to the beating of my heart. I hoped that I would wake up soon... then did so...with a START! Halloween is coming.  So, I guess I should prepare. Watch out for bars with men from Mars... 'cause BEASTIES party there!

Dough making with flour and water Salt and butter Calls for kneading In ritualistic candor As parts come together To an irreversible matter The soft cushion of dough between the palm and the bowl pliable with every push and shove stretched and compressed In sheepish conformity Blistered on  skillet Puffed up to a chapati Heavens thanked with each bite For flat bread with savory curry Fills nostrils with soft aromas- Relished as heaven on tongue- One is contented of this flat bread

As I enter the arena and the blood sport begins; I gaze around the room, at the fighting ***** all dressed in battle trim. Angry eyes telling tails, chests puffed out, **** and ****** feathers scattered to and fro, spurred on by spite... Amidst the bitter cries; and angry beaks; talons rip and wound again and again until the match is over and everyones a loser; Even the hen!

The Will-of-Strength, firm and subtle at Peak Sought to follow his Elder and charge his Day With Weight-Lifts and Fork-Bells conquer Relief Took a Sling from his Semi; Shot the Green Elf Who flew around the House and tampered his Rage To learn such Programmes like Responses and Growth But Confident as he was to draft his Age Shot the Green Elf again; His Candles grew Old The Candles! Left there on a Muddy-Cream-Cake Waiting to be puffed by a Cold, Moral Bite Till the Drogbas arrived and brought their own Bake Then the Party resumed; Screams sparked in Delight. And the Green Elf, sleeping, spoke in the End: "Manhood be your Goal; First make me your Friend."

SONNET TRIBUTE: WILLIAM DALEY
The Pigeon Gent, He woos and coos around the river bent. Pursues his muse with artful dance and skillful prance, With inflated neck and ruffled plumage, until his energy or luck is spent. He then resides by ebbing tides to ponder on his next advance. "Now Now", "Whats This" the gent exclaims, A shadow looming from the skies. With ***** and claps he glides and lands with  full surprise, He spies the intruder, "A fellow Brooder". Pigeon gent cant believe his eyes. Pigeon Gent cannot believe the sauce, The scurge seems intent on taking his prize by force. At once he knows he must respond, And force this illbread vagabond to abscond. At once chest puffed and muscles flexed, With wild eyes he jabs and pecks. To teach this ruffian respect, So on his actions he may later reflect. He stands his ground both large and proud, To make example of this foul winged burglar from the clouds. "You insult me sir" he shouts aloud, To make his intentions clear for all the crowd. For several rounds they fight and scuffle. With intruder retreating, feathers ruffled. Then bested suiter fairly parted, The quarrel ends as fast as started. The vanquished victor displays and grooms, As peace and honour now resumes. Soon the ripples upset the green, An armada of ducks come on the scene. Alerted by the heightend coos, They race to see what act insues. The mighty mallards, Kings of the river, None contest their right of way. Their ways of conduct such generous givers. Majestic river royalty, the law is always what they say. On bank or shallow pebbled river they have always been, They love to feed and breed amongst the river scene. There royal cape made up of browny reds and shimmering greens, reflects and intejects on mirrored water skies and evergreens. To their mates for life and lady lovers, The mallard gent is like no others. Such loyalties are seldom seen, In modern times and different dreams. Fine and lean with striking features, Best examples of river teachers. But at any moment no matter how abrubt, A river duel may easily erupt. Battle can ensue and rage, As both apponents approach and engage. For they mate for life as duck and wife, A rarity in any age or life.

Only Vice
August, the Red Line, connected tanks of bolted plastic vertebrae. Every seat gone except five rows up, where a sea lion sprawls across two, stuffed backpack, yellow jacket spread out like caution tape. His grunt a wet bark at the glow of his screen. Middle-school deer slip into the aisle, chatter clipped when the sheriff drifts past, their ears flicking, smiles bitten shut. Not a predator- just a gelded ox, chest puffed, badge sagging, glass-eyed, chest rig clattering with blanks. Two lemur-children cling to their tortoise elder, her shell steady against the sway of the car. She shepherds them from the surge of riders: loud Dodger blue parrots in cholo socks, moth-women with plumed lashes beating the stale air, a stray dog, gutter musk dragging at its haunches. And one gray bear muttering alone, arguing with her reflection. Between Koreatown and MacArthur Park, somewhere the sea begins to breathe again, then, feathers forcing through my skin- an alley gull knifing into this clamour, scavenging inside its exhaust. The car rattles, its ribs plated with blistered posters: museum wings open to no one, ‘register to vote’ fading into graffiti script, flu shots promised by smiling ghosts. A bruised hatchling staring out beside the words See something, say something. The warning lights glow like eyes hunting in the dark. From its flanks the train unfurls iron claws. They rake the tunnel walls, the city’s bones, the dark itself.

The Gull Below
I had a dream I smoked some ***** with a Rasta Man while we jammed in the name of the lord to some tunes the children of Africa roaming free like wild beast once the cradle of civilization turned into tombs by the ungrateful, heathen souls that ran amok in the name of annihilation and war. But we are fearful pious men, as we inhaled the herb the grass is the shepherd that nourish us like Giraffes the sky is the ceiling that we reach with our blessed hands the rivers gives us skins like Crocs to be able to survive harsh whether, the blood-stained desert left behind by men witnessed by the pale eyes of the torture souls of this land. And so we inhaled and puffed like chimneys in a North Pole night we talked about the smiles of our seeds stretching far and wide how beautiful is a voice when it’s brought to life by a loved one how the scent of a pure woman can bring the dead back to life deadlocked, we are dreadlocked like grapevines until Jah lets us the mental slavery that keeps us chained to the ships of our ancestors. We never once conversed about the frail indignity of the mortals the uselessness of hate, the ways material possessions can’t help you we reached Nirvana without taking our feet off the common ground we shared a spirit, bonded between long hits made of peace and love in the freedom of those free thinkers tinkering with words without rest in the children of Jah, daydreaming at night in a warm bed made of bread.

Picnic Yeah
Stink up the beer house with unadorned putrid self-thoughts. Poppy-eyed and hating others is easy for blue bottled buggers. A sweet thing for you! A growing circle of six-legged empty. Filled to the brim with puffed up space. A white brim with a shiny red exoskeleton. Oh, what a dreadful sight! Hair strewn across a face and hooked into the teeth of the blushy lullabied insect screech. Clear liquid not blood, but blood all the same on an empty stomach with full vein-shot bones. Not milky bones with calcium-love.. A dead, deficient, cracked, neglected, insufficient skeletal frame, limp. Yellowed with hate-smoke and old book notes. Splintered, crazed and buzzed through the gridded bulging eye-window of every single one of those insect like Self-Loathers. Chosen out of pure sympathy "We should talk more" .......To the sun, the moon and the stars? Every star mocks, Every beam scoffs and every moon likes to deride on the pain that hides beneath the lies of human bug eyes. A simply formed pound of vertebrate flesh leaks soft plasma on the scaly moth floor. Oh how we are dusty and unsure! Forestry consisting of a Sitka Spruce and of a Japanese Larch was a claim I made from the start. Over gardens of attention arachnid lurking selfish bugs and even those half winged "friend people". The bell has rung the scariest of chimes and with every soul wrenching 'ding' a furry fang digs at the blotchy eyed, softly fleshed girl. Oh such a sweet thing to be surrounded by selfish bugs who spin webs with tear stained tissues!

He skipped and he hopped. He popped and he locked. He danced with his feet, to Mcdonalds' fast beat. He puffed up with pride; warm in the inside. And fresh with his lettuce; junk food is his fetish. He never thought what would come; he thought it was all fun. In a funky yellow wrapper and into the warmer he went. He heard the kaching of the cashier-- someone's money was spent. He was dragged to the front line where the lights were all bright. Like he was sent in for interrogation; Like in a murderer's plight. And like that he went. A tear from his bread skin: the top of his sesame seed bun head human teeth sank in. He yelled and he screamed with all that he got. He thought he was happy. But he's everything he's not.

Happy-go-lucky Hamburger
With the house they are selling their childhood and adolescence, five funny brothers and grandmother's sweets, late night dramas and the unattractive maids they inherited, cigarettes they puffed secretly and lessons they learned with jackfruit pulp. Now the roots are being pulled and I wonder what'll be left. I wish people live there, generations come and play on its front yard and I hope my ancestors understand new generation urbanism and modernity.

Mosséd trees stand in respect, a moment of silence. Still breathing but stillness dwells. In amongst the green a catharsis of orangey-red shades. The Japanese maple poised, chest puffed, arms elegant. Sight unstirred.

I am a rain drop flopped down from the clouds I could have landed in a river or the sea Then merging with the rising and receding waves I would have been washed down into oblivion Or could have fallen from the heights Into a desolate dreary desert Amid the blistering granules of sand To be absorbed into nothingness Chances are there to have fallen on a rock Lying scorched in the heat of the mid day sun Then I would have vanished into thin air Evaporating into non existence I could have fallen into a muddy puddle Or perhaps into a filthy drainage To be contaminated with the sewage Or be the breeding ground of worms and bugs But fortunately for me I happened to fall into fecund soil Where there lay in wait a few seeds Hankering for the cool touch of moisture Arid souls desperately thirsting for water, They ****** the molecules within me. As their dry kernel got soaked and puffed, Slowly they sprouted and grew into life. Absorbing again the drops that came after me They, into towering trees eventually grew Some touching heaven’s azure heights And giving shade and shelter to many Now as I see them crested with flowers And bearing clusters of luscious fruits I feel I am there in each leaf and bud And my essence flows through every vein! As a teacher, what more is needed for me To feel contented in life?

An eccentric free spirit A major let down, no one understands the blunt sounds A neighborhood built up by the ****** society, half naked puffed out chests I'd rather pick my lilacs and dance to Joan Jett then deal with their meetings I will celebrate my homemade life with a button stating, "Save the wine who cares about the rest" Freedom from the voices that screech

This is me oh well
Breathed in the breath of the saviour, To richen the soul of the poor. I puffed out a portal to the cloud kingdom. Holding onto the scales of a dragon. The earth beneath my feet begun to shrink, And the sky above my head started to sink. I caught a glimpse of what was behind the cloud, And was dropped from a million feet high down to the ground. I met an angel with a kick, Wanted by the government. Eyes as wide as rabbit holes, As bright as a solar moon. Black stars in between white spaces, Generating a reluctant mold. There’s golden flakes in its hair, Its string chokes my throat. I thought it was my angel, Turns out it was fool’s gold. When the fog sets, And everything fades away; I turn off my car headlights, And stear into the grey. I like to hide in the clouds, They make me so happy; But when I come back down, They make me so sad. Digging in my grave to find heaven, Inhaling the smoke of another dragon. I think I might have found my God. I’m melting in his eternal sunshine. Smoked the crumbled image of his face, It turned my tears into wine. The earth's my grave, The sky's my cradle. Unearthing my new low, To find the highest place one can go.

As I close my laptop and it snaps shut my dog sits up ears perked, chest puffed, and at the ready for me to stand up and grab a leash and a plastic bag for his **** And he knows this routine because it has been seared into his brain with the white-hot branding iron of repetition. A force of nature. A category-five hurricane. We laugh at them for chasing their tails when the microwave dings, for salivating at bells, but I am no better than they are. The same routines are seared into my brain, too— stimulus, response stimulus, response eat, sleep, **** walk, **** love, reproduce, etc. and I will continue to do so aimlessly just like Ivan Pavlov said I would. One day I’ll find myself like he’ll find himself— lying on a cold slab in a sterile room only half alive aghast at how quickly youth slipped away but otherwise numb as loved ones circle around, hands over their mouths, horrified to press the button.
