"protocol" poems
Elephant seals gross and flabby ignorant of protocol ponderously scratch. Uniformed unicorns importune tame peacocks wearing pink petticoats. Fluted columns fade at twilight into the secrecy of a passing thought. Toy soldiers on parade fragile, glittering lost.

Curiosity
Put your head down and werk. Put your feet up and twerk. Run quickly and watch the   pavement blur. Don't ask questions. Love you answers, and explanations, your valuations, and justifications. In the mood for pizza? Cause the shop's on your left. In 0.5 miles, it will be on your left. ON YOUR LEFT. YOUR DESTINATION IS ON THE LEFT. Rerouting... the protocol is exactly THIS, not THAT. So just do it. checkmark. Nike said so. Just buy it. we suggest it. Just try the Quesarilla #tacobell #mexicanfood #foodporn #pleasegetmemoreviews How bout a selfie where you look miserable and unhealthy. But you're a celebrity. Rub your likeness on me and I'll get you publicity. #fire #ice #rain What happened to real pain? And did dissonance disappear? Why must I hide my tears? And be bright and happy And ogle guys with fohawks trimmed so carefully. And live a lie, of numbers and rye bread is the worst, sandwiched in bursts. We all live and we all hurt and we all deserve a life like hers. who you say? Kim Kardashian, of course.

Artificiality.
The divine walkway To the river-side Has began to warp in Singing and whooping with love, But I was in the palace To witness the examination, See how the evening sky Has suffered with crimson And delight, awaiting The gorgeous joy of the dawn, How can the nations Begin this monthly journey With a broken arm? The old gossip proclaimed that Mother Africa caused the *** to burst into loud wails Early on that faithful morning, Whiles the companions took No pain to grace the occasion, Oh gosh, is that the time? Is that an absolute Gospel of the gory spectacle? Indeed, we need to offer Sacrifices of praise To propitiate the gods, Let the gracious protocol begin! Mothers, please cover That beautiful black skin With that sunblock sheabutter cream, And cover that gracious hips With that piece of kente cloth, My dear, please Taste the sacred food And swallow the egg also, For sitting on a golden stool Which stands on a precious mat, Has become good news for the ancestors, Now perceive this, When the moonlight slipped Past the curled edges Of the shades of nature, and The children faces gleamed, I knew I had Fallen victim to the sensual Lures and snares of the Twin towers protruding From your glorious chest, You have indeed kindled The eternal flame within me, My black eternal beauty, You are truly A fine African woman. © PRINCE NANA ANIN-AGYEI Email: [email protected]

VIVID LOVE (BRAGORO - PUBERTY RITES)
It’s simple... isn’t it? The way it was supposed to be, right? Following protocol and finishing orders. Let’s break the rules. Let’s be different. Let’s stop living in everyone else’s eyes and be us. You catch on quickly, dear.   Glad I found someone who likes to break the rules just as much as I do.

Fear too is an epidemic, it stretches out like An incubation period for a kind of doom Population control, whispered a silent elite Who engineer our wallets, our GMO food, our futures Ebola was a convenient way, of making us fear Who we once were again, black as a Nigerian We died alone in deathbeds, isolated plastic containers For who we once were, our organs giving out Infection was a spider hand, MSM gave us False positives, but could the main-stream-media Be trusted any longer? Wasn’t this just a matter Of time, an algorithm set loose upon the billions? Fear is that place, where people go in adversity It’s hypnotic like an audience at a concert It’s contagious how the will for self-preservation can spread Fight of flee, but where to run, out of the cities? The new normal is a kind of paranoia While we watch the situation very closely Every hour there is underground news about Another case in another country, Ebola isn’t Your grandmother that only likes good climates She’s an engineered hypothesis of how mobility Causes any true pandemic to become a flamboyant outbreak The comet that signals black plagues has been seen Fear too is a weapon, when you can’t stop the world Because it’s too costly to do so, and you can’t Tell the world not to fly because we’re too free We left Africa a long time ago, but who among us Would stand 20 meters from their open graves?

Ebola, the 60% protocol
The bleeding has no bias From the Congo to Dallas The days of waiting, the Fever-soar The African corpses were out Of view, from the World’s eyes If a sneeze can defile Ebola can ride airplanes Traverse Seas, all through Your plastic gloves, your pores Contagious still with death Your fear may taste the curse A thousand dead more, a common ache The bleeding has no bias Jesus will not bring you back from the Dead We have to walk through Hell alone They say, I have no more words The bleeding has no bias No funding, on protocol that works The virus rages on, splitting old scars Of what it means to be from the Old continent, of what it means to be black And the coughing up of more blood Where paranoia and fear are conditions As common as kindness and hospitality here The panic of believing a silent enemy Can catch you without you knowing These are the days of waiting These are when the numbers soar.

Ebola in Motion
he is home he came from siam yonder shouts from the ground floor heralded his return smile escaped from my static face call out his name thunder, rain dark face swivels to the left five foot ten rises up from the plastic chair as dark as him i expect a hug but lo i am not a child, not anymore a protocol of high fives replayed and the traffic of words return to the highway of arsenal, chelsea, man city

The moral decline of society seem to be rapidly changing society. Drive by shooting by boys that never learned to fight. Not that fighting solved anything. Youth quick to call anyone a name. Many males in present time with a prison story to tell. Many still living off of bragging about their crime. Politicians , are no better when you notice their crime. Preaching morals beliefs , except robbing citizens blind. Many will offer their assessment to when they think it started. When in truth, we just can't say. We have lived behind blinders for decades. Putting up images before others that didn't mean a thing. We all are not perfect in any type of way. But pretend to be to get our way. Then exposed before others, as a living fraud. That's when we seek sympathy to come our way., The imperfect people accept their faults. Which is evident in us all. Especially those within church. Pretending to be the perfect saint. When in truth they ain't. The moral decline of society hurts us all. And until , we seek to be better. We will continue to fall. Rules and protocol with have their places. If they are followed and abide by. Then just nmaybe we will see a reduction of crime.

Moral Decline of Society
God knew, it would take a baby to make it his requirement. One that was pure and innocent to represent us. Unto us a child was born. Unto us a son was given and the power of government would rest upon his shoulders. He will embrace various names. Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace. And we today call him Messiah or Jesus. Although many more, he could be called. We aware his kingdom will last forevermore. Unto us a child was born. Who would lead us? Who will guide us? He was prophesied even before others believed. And some doubt him because he was born of earth. Instead of looking at his life and its purpose. He the King of Kings. And more royal because of his blood. Many of us bow down to him not because of protocol. But out of respect for him and his cause. Yes, unto us a child was born. Who grew up to be called Jesus? Who grew up to be called Emmanuel? Which is a name and not just a title. Unto the world a child was given. To show us our path to a new world. Where judgment and sin simply won't exist? Yes, unto us a child was born.

Ah, Pinocchio--povero burattino°-- Always in a scrape; always in a jam. The irresponsible, wooden-headed numbskull Couldn't help but fall for every scam.   A walking, talking stringless marionette, Pinocchio really would have had it made In a modest home with babbo°° Gepetto. But, instead, the foolish youngster strayed.   Ignoring the advice of the talking cricket, Pinocchio EVEN smashed it with a hammer. That right there should have been a reason To throw the little rascal in the slammer.   The Fox and the Cat had no trouble Dissuading the puppet from going to school, Thus involving him in a series of adventures Which often made him look like a fool.   The Fairy tried to be a good influence, But Pinocchio's lies caused his nose to grow. Constantly ignoring responsibilities, The misguided boy, suffered constant woe.   (Swindled of his money, hanged on a tree, And saved just in the nick of time From being eaten, Pinocchio had Too many adventures to fit into this rhyme.)   Fleeing with his lazy school chum Lucignolo To the Paese dei balocchi,°°° there Pinocc Turned into a donkey. Of all his follies, This one had to be a masterstroke.   Once again a puppet, Pinocchio was swallowed By a giant Pesce-cane,°°°° and then guess what! The foolish boy was finally reunited With babbo Gepetto in the fish's huge gut.   NOT until Pinocchio thought about others And proved he was an honest and caring boy Did his fortune start to change for the better, And the stringless puppet became the real McCoy.   Does Pinocchio by any chance remind you Of any politicians out there at all Who fail to listen to expert advice And thumb their noses at common protocol?   And speaking of noses, we can also see Politicians' noses grow as they tell lies. Lying to themselves and to others as well And ignoring our best interests and flouting compromise.   Such politicians--unlike Pinocchio-- Have strings to pull when performing for the masses. The more they avoid solving REAL issues, The more they end up looking like *****   They also love--these clever burattini-- To sell a bill of goods and promise many things. I stood there frozen with societal protocol doubt and, of course, indecision. The artificial candle flicker of the subway windows illuminated my eyes as I stared into the car looking for an assured lost cause. But there you were– all softness and light contrasting with the harsh cold I stood in frozen while your subway passed.

I had a seventh grader tell me, when I was in 5th grade, that things go downhill after 5th grade - that life doesn’t get better, it just gets more complicated. I’ve had years to mull that over and I have to say that in some ways his testimony was on beat. As we start the second half of sophomore fall semester, I think I’ve reached stability and I’m accustomed to this year’s schedule and workload. I haven’t surveyed whether I’m faster or slower in this (see below), but now I know all the tricks - where to eat, which paths to take and what to carry. I have a firm rhythm that’s consistent and insistent. “I’m finally on my schedule.” I commented to Sunny yesterday morning as we collided in our dash to get our shoes on. She looked at me in confusion “You know we’re on week 8 out of 15, Ya?” I was shocked, “I hadn’t thought of it that way,” I admitted as we stepped out. It’s midnight and we’re going (Peter, Lisa, Sophie and I) to “My **** tonight (the dorm basement snack-bar). I took two seconds to splash my face with water and twist-back my hair. “How do I look?” I asked Peter. “You’re attractive.. enough,” he said, “..I mean you fall within a bell curve.” “You're almost 40,” I say, in the face of his non-complement. “I’m 26,” Peter said, “You know it, and I have proof. You DO have some good points though,” he granted, while trying to drape his great, hairy, gorilla-like arm on me, “there’s your sparkling conversation and nice underwear.” “I donated those to goodwill,” I lied, while giving him a half-gentle stiff-arm. “You remind me of my parents,” Sophie says. The tea (the best tea is scandalous). Lisa’s friend Baker dashed back to her room between classes yesterday. She’d forgotten the big paper she had to turn-in. It was a mad dash and passing a roommate’s open door, she realized that the girl was lowkey ************ Lisa, delighted to be an interlocutor in the matter, due to Baker’s overplus embarrassment, Lisa's trying to suggest next steps in a post-shock protocol.

For years, longing long years I mourned my smooth, young honey-hued, freckle-filled summers. My tears, pander-eyed tears Trickled down the furtive, long-sleeved, camouflaged decades. I hoped hopeless hopes That the pallid,white-lashed jig-saw stranger in the mirror should leave. My fears, shadowy fears Multiplied, forming stark splashes across the carefree canvas of my psyche. Resigned, and re-designed The pattern of my life became cheery-faced denial-by-self-tan. And there, just where despair Had me in its mottled, stubborn, white-knuckled, piebald grip The long, long, longed-for thing Occurred – showering my bleached body and soul with golden shards of joy. The white, bright white Which blighted my confidence and leached the tones from my being Is going, going, gone And I am once again becoming who I always so secretly and subcutaneously was. I’m me… I’m free And blissfully, gratefully, ecstatically aware that the final letters of my life’s curse are… ... "I GO" Vitiligo © October 2011 Vitiligo Protocol

MEMO FROM:  Mr Phil Indifrence,  Strategy Chess Insurgency  Corps. Space Headquarters, Castleview Avenue, Dunstable XY10 TO:  Ms Petal  Dontrun,  Crimson Chess Federation. De la Wigan Headquarters, Wigan, United Kingdom,  SM00 Dear Ms Dontrun, Please accept my greetings. I write to clarify my stance on our outstanding matters and hopefully to deter further speculation, gossips, rumours, distortions, misinformation and sensationalism by the media. As you are aware I contacted you on the day as arranged only to be confronted with a response that was astoundingly unethical, un- professional, rude, inconsiderate and totally uncalled-for. It was so below expected standard that it raised doubt about your suit- ability to be seen as a matured adult much less an intelligent being. Still in the reverberations of this seismic occurrence I called again in the hope it was a momentary loss of composure and yet again I was subjected to a deluxe version of the first onslaught. To say I was flabbergasted is putting things mildly, most especially as it was totally unwarranted and underserved. It was obvious you lacked any sense of decorum and had become an affront to common human decency and an embarrassment to your status. In all fairness you did call some weeks later, but it had become apparent that the ethos, protocol and cordiality that my Organi- sation works within may not be relevant to your Organisation, hence my unavailability to your contact. I write to primarily reiterate that my position on this matter and the present status quo is not based on some immature Ego play, stubbornness, power-play or pride, rather it's in all truthfulness it's a belief in upholding standards in ethical considerations. I do not believe that bad manners, ill-considered behaviour, ill-judgement and a lack of sensitivity and good grace are matured and progressive trends to interact cooperatively within. In conclusion, this is my stance on this matter and I hope it helps your understanding. I believe a formal Apology from you and your Organisation is appropriate in this regard and will instigate a return to cordiality between our Organisation. If you however feel this is unnecessary I will respect your decision and the situation will remain unresolved. I thank you for your attention. Regards, Phil Indifrence. C.E.O.

We weren't merely talking business; her eyes said something else, I strained my ears.Listened. Soliloquy.Whispers.Fluttering eyes. ("Need to bring her around and sign the contract") She is silent, eyes on papers "wind on the waters.................. rustle of the leaves" mind sings, I got it now, no doubt, we are attracted! i am now a man with a heart that sizzles, "she is of course a cut above the rest, a fine mind, amazing number cruncher, not to forget that pert posterior, she makes me melt, I cannot be a hard nut" my thought train stops to her whistle, a lovely smile, as if to say "Things would  start to move between us, when this is over"                     A man and a woman, both,  business intentions, in mind's focus, when together such a long time could decide upon a course of action, but i hear a buzz in my ears-- we  seem to sway in a charged atmosphere all i could think is this; "our business doesn't reach anywhere.." When-- every obstacle fell and crashed, relaxing **** sniffing each other, like dogs, in the cozy confines, of her hotel suite, she said, the reason for the obstacles, was pretension- she had the need to feel in total control, (till attraction, made the difference) "Man and woman role reversal" "I understand" I said.Executive privilege; she is the senior and she deserved to feel good! decorum in business deals must be kept. We reversed roles and felt more elated (we thought) too little to do when you properly decide, to divide responsibilities (even in bed)                              The deal was done,                               she put her seal,                               and outside the protocol,                               a parting kiss and an invite:                                                       Is it to be Venice?                                                       ( or Brazil?)

My Protege 2
Where the sea meets the sand is the battle for the land; a war for territory, the everlasting story. The tides that soak the beach are always slightly out of reach; Sol chases them away, but the moon is here to stay. So plan for the destruction of man's every construction; for eaten it will be, by the hungry sea. But forever is the sand that marks our borderland; eternal it will be, unlike you and me.

The Omega Protocol
Nida Fazli translations Apni Marzi se by Nida Fazli Shayari translated by Mandakini Bhattacherya and Michael R. Burch This journey was not of my making; As the winds blow, I’m blown along ... Time and dust are my ancient companions; Who knows where I’m bound or belong? Original Poem: Apni Marzi se kahan apne safar ke hum hain, Rukh hawaaon ka jidhar ka hai udhar ke hum hain. Waqt ke saath mitti ka safar sadiyon se, Kisko maaloom kahan ke hain kidhar ke hum hain. Failures by Nida Fazli loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch I was unable to relate the state of my heart to her, while she failed to infer the nuances of my silences. Every Day and in Every Direction by Nida Fazli loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch Everywhere and in every direction we see innumerable people: each man a victim of his own loneliness, reticence and silences. From dawn to dusk men carry enormous burdens: all preparing graves for their soon-to-be corpses. Each day a man lives, the same day he dies. Each new day requires the same old patience. In every direction there are roads for him to roam, but in every direction, men victimize men. Every day a man dies many deaths only to resurrect from his ashes. Each new day presents new challenges. Life's destiny is not fixed, but a series of journeys: thus, till his last breath, a man remains restless. Couplets by Nida Fazli loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch It was my fate to entangle and sink myself because I am a boat and my ocean lies within. ―Nida Fazli, loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch You were impossible to forget once you were gone: hell, I remembered you most when I tried to forget you! ―Nida Fazli, loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch Don't squander these pearls: such baubles may ornament sleepless nights! ―Nida Fazli, loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch The world is like a deck of cards on a gambling table: some of us are bound to loose while others cash in. ―Nida Fazli, loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch There is a proper protocol for everything in this world: when visiting gardens never force butterflies to vacate their flowers! ―Nida Fazli, loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch Since I lack the courage to commit suicide, I have elected to bother people with my life a bit longer. ―Nida Fazli, loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Synergy
once I had a master whose name lent some dignity and glamour now I wander free of institution free of protocol and guidelines I am the wandering ronin nowhere to belong, related to none and so coming in to freedom when I was within Order and File And Rank when I was within Identity and Badge and the Group I had recognition and complacency Now I am the ronin with no labels wandering as I desire unfettered as the birds of the sky and as the ocean waves Now I have no rules to follow, no obligations just the rhythm of love and justice Now I see all that I thought was necessary was but a burden; the price for my place had been my freedom And now I am the wandering ronin uninhibited, unconditioned, free as a sparrow might choose to rest where it pleases
