Generic Love Poem
The napalan man in a violet cape   descended the stair with a lopsided gait a wretched procession, subscribers in cue rattling off as they stream from the pew   sounds and smells from a shadowy place a catholic priest to gin up base lanterns strung from bolted doors cobbled streets and wooden floors   stepping stones and iron bell fortified by the citadel hallowed halls and sepulcher dragon cane for the horse drawn tour castle turret,  archer holes centaur scribed in chamber bowls garden columns in courtyard view the blood ballet and hullabaloo   ancient tombs on warrior grounds gods and saints who made their rounds goliath still with battered scythe knelt in prayer and mummified   battle fires and crowds that roar gallows, caves, abysmal war   gargoyles flock the terraced slope pearly gates to bring on hope   serpents, snakes and burning ash lava bombs and trident clash mariners drift in absentee as neptune rises from the Tyrrhenian Sea

“Being a farmer is like being a priest; you take a vow of poverty and make a pact with the Lord that no typhoon will come and destroy your crops.” In the rise of sedentary human civilization, The nation’s agriculture Became the key expansion. Its history dates back thousands of years, With its development, Has been driven and defined – By different climates, cultures, and technologies. The Filipino farmers: Are they now a dying breed? Numbers of small farms has dwindled, With workers opting for city life. But this trend could exacerbate food insecurity! Yes, in an import-dependent country – Already struggling to meet current food demand. In the face of growing losses, And from volatile weather, To new-fangled farming tech, Limited education makes them less receptive. What took such toll on the agricultural sector? Maybe the farmer themselves, The investors, the buyers – maybe. Now, it’s due to the government policies, Our programs are good, yet so weak. There’s excessive reliance on agricultural imports, And corruption on the upper level. Compounding the problem Is a younger generation – Largely, leaving rural areas nationwide, And depleting the pool of potential agricultural workers. They say it’s too late to do something; But the mind-set of the younger generation Still we can change And make farming appealing once again. (9/8/13 @xirlleelang)

A Dying Filipino Breed
I saw the Maori Jesus Walking on Wellington Harbour. He wore blue dungarees, His beard and hair were long. His breath smelled of mussels and paraoa. When he smiled it looked like the dawn. When he broke wind the little fishes trembled. When he frowned the ground shook. When he laughed everybody got drunk. The Maori Jesus came on shore And picked out his twelve disciples. One cleaned toilets in the railway station; His hands were scrubbed red to get the **** out of the pores. One was a call-girl who turned it up for nothing. One was a housewife who had forgotten the Pill And stuck her TV set in the ******* can. One was a little office clerk Who'd tried to set fire to the Government Buldings. Yes, and there were several others; One was a sad old quean; One was an alcoholic priest Going slowly mad in a respectable parish. The Maori Jesus said, 'Man, From now on the sun will shine.' He did no miracles; He played the guitar sitting on the ground. The first day he was arrested For having no lawful means of support. The second day he was beaten up by the cops For telling a dee his house was not in order. The third day he was charged with being a Maori And given a month in Mt Crawford. The fourth day he was sent to Porirua For telling a ***** the sun would stop rising. The fifth day lasted seven years While he worked in the Asylum laundry Never out of the steam. The sixth day he told the head doctor, 'I am the Light in the Void; I am who I am.' The seventh day he was lobotomised; The brain of God was cut in half. On the eighth day the sun did not rise. It did not rise the day after. God was neither alive nor dead. The darkness of the Void, Mountainous, mile-deep, civilised darkness Sat on the earth from then till now.

I cannot pick a color I love more Each is thrilling and some seem the breath of life to all the rest I loved my crayons They became my escape from misery the contrast to any given day at school Any excuse to use them all or just one to avoid that lowest reading group the monstrosities of math If I couldn't sing it there were no letters in the alphabet I could not tell you A from Z But you see-- That day was purple! That was all that mattered I loved its richness and its depth its mystery its royalty King Midas would have liked it, I was sure almost a religion Vestments of the priest in the times of expectation It is the explanation for the last of day As a five-year-old I drew my love for purple Passionate and outside all the lines-- off onto the desk I was so proud! But-- Miss Platt, so horrified asked, What is it I was trying to do? I didn't know.... I was suddenly ashamed and frightened too

I remember when you were four I caught you drawing on the wall I couldn't get mad Instead I just laughed And I still have The finger print painting that you made In fact I had it framed I have every art piece you made To remind me that your always here with me spiritually All These tear drops That fall upon the page Creating smudged ink stains As this pen bleeds Words drenched in sorrow An empty heart slowly fades Can't seem to find a way To release all this pain Can't seem to find the words to say I miss you each and everyday Can't find a logical reason to explain Why you were taken away Can't forgive God For what he's done Just hope he's Holding you in his arms Keeping you safe and warm You got the voices of angels Who can serenade And sing you to sleep I'll keep you safe Inside of your dreams We were at the hospital I was sitting beside your bed And you wiped the tears Underneath my eyes Then I heard you say Daddy please don't cry I like it better when you smile So I smiled Don't say no goodnights or goodbyes Yeah princess your my little fighter My inspiration, my perfection My saviour, my hope, my strength Your everything I am I'll carry that with me forever All these tear drops That fall upon the page Creating smudged ink stains As this pen bleeds Words drenched in sorrow An empty heart slowly fades Can't seem to find a way To release all this pain Can't seem to find the words to say I miss you each and everyday Can't find a logical reason to explain Why you were taken away Can't forgive God For what he's done Just hope he's Holding you in his arms Keeping you safe and warm You got the voices of angels Who can serenade And sing you to sleep I'll keep you safe Inside of your dreams I still remember when I heard the doctor say (There's no heart rate) That line still haunts me Your mother and I fell to the floor Neither of us wanted to get back up It felt like we cried for hours And then I felt something give me strength Then I remembered what you said Daddy please don't cry I like it better when you smile So I pulled myself back up from the floor Took your mother in my arms Carried her back to the car You were every step You were every breath All These tear drops That fall upon the page Creating smudged ink stains As this pen bleeds Words drenched in sorrow An empty heart slowly fades Can't seem to find a way To release all this pain Can't seem to find the words to say I miss you each and everyday Can't find a logical reason to explain Why you were taken away Can't forgive God For what he's done Just hope he's holding You in his arms Keeping you safe and warm You got the voices of angels Who can serenade And sing you to sleep And I'll keep you safe Inside of your dreams I still remember when I heard the priest say May she rest with angels watching over her May they share there infinite love on high May they protect her blessed soul Let the Lord take her Into his loving arms To keep her safe from harm I said Amen to that princess And I've seen you in the stars Yeah you'll never be to far For we are always With in each other's hearts All these tear drops That fall upon the page Creating smudged ink stains As this pen bleeds Words drenched in sorrow An empty heart slowly fades Can't seem to find a way To release all this pain Can't seem to find the words to say I miss you each and everyday Can't find a logical reason to explain Why you were taken away Can't forgive God For what he's done Just hope he's holding You in his arms Keeping you safe and warm You got the voices of angels Who can serenade And sing you to sleep And I'll keep you safe Inside of your dreams Sometimes I sit in your empty room Imagine you playing, drawing Creating all those games You used to play With your vivid imagination A world of your creation It's like your still here I can feel your essence I can feel your presence In this place It's where I go to relive your memory That you left for me All these tear drops That fall upon the page Creating smudged ink stains As this pen bleeds Words drenched in sorrow An empty heart slowly fades Can't seem to find a way To release all this pain Can't seem to find the words to say I miss you each and everyday Can't find a logical reason to explain Why you were taken away Can't forgive God For what he's done Just hope he's holding You in his arms Keeping you safe and warm You got the voices of angels Who can serenade And sing you to sleep And I'll keep you safe Inside of your dreams ©2018 Written By Benji James

As I stand here, outside my work building stealing a smoke break I wonder about God and the universe and how much happier it makes me feel to believe in other things That the sun was a running man chasing the stars in that endless black run man run fast run free but freedom only gets you slipping and sliding in circular leaps around our earth, almost like a clumsy mouse in a stationary wheel and these sneaky stars always one step ahead at sunrise or at his heels in sunset My mom’s a Catholic woman she won’t believe in the running man her stars are not stars, no her stars are rosaries in purses and priest’s words taught words holy words but holy words are also human words, are they not? It never made sense to me that a person could live their whole life repenting it But then again, my dad used to have me work in our yard, picking the weeds outside and he let me treasure them in a vase he never called them weeds, they were always dandy-flowers wishing flowers wildflowers but wild only gets you believing in the sun and keeping shrubs in vases All of which suit me, because In the lonely nights of endless black, I have the company of my own stars and when holy words of weeds fall back I remember that— wild humans are only wildflowers

Disclaimer Of An Avid PC Gamer
Distress shows on my face like atheism in a priest yet is welcome in my head like a baby in its crib. I'm always where I don't belong always finding myself singing songs with cicadas I'm always losing my head And finding myself stuck, still a slave to time it's time I find so pressing not some boy's dejection or rejection of my kind words (in that sense, I can make 101 comparisons of myself to a rubber ball, always bouncing back) no, it's time I'm so scared of it's time that's constantly breaking my heart when I fall in love at least 32 times in a day I fall in love with contentment, with the sunrays that filter through the leaves of early autumn trees with the slight lisp situated between my favorite singer's lips I fall in love with the milliseconds when life seems sublime when I snake my way out of glass, when the wind dances on the ski-slope of my nose, the moon lifting me up putting pretty words in my head. Time will always be sure to come and rob me of these lovers of mine and so naturally, in their passing I am left hollow, confused, longing and heartsick for something that no longer exists but is still very real

Home?
Are you out there my Friend.? ? Somewhere The Wind is blowing..? Where your footprints are gone as soon as left. No one to know. No one Knowing.?        Are you in the Wind? ? A voice, distant, lost in the swirl of snow and Autumn leaves.? Your way Home...unknown.        The next step taken, but down what path.? Will it lead through this wood, or wander Forever this Dismal forest of Bramble and Thorn? Your clothes ragged, tattered, torn.No shelter in sight. No sheltering insight. Crows with eyes bright. Plucking at your sleeves and dress. Catching your skin with talons that gleam, bleeding you like a priest with a fleem. Leaving you wounded and hurt., weary and wary.        If you would stand still but a moment., cease your struggling and stumbling. Just listen, you'll hear my voice On the Wind. Calling you Home. Safe within the walls and warmth of my arms.

In The Wind
The house was haunted The family fled They couldn't find the priest So they got me instead. I read aloud my poems Full of sorrow and pain, About dreary things And nearly going insane. "My Gawd", the ghosts cried " This is fierce gloomy stuff, I thought we were bad But this, Enough! Enough! " Well they wailed and they shrieked And they wailed some more Then holding their ears They ran out the door. Even ghosts they desert me I thought After they'd gone They'd never even heard of a sorrow    so deep Or a pain as sharp as mine. I sat there all alone in the silent house With not a whisper, no! not a mouse When all of a sudden there came    something strange A little sound like that of slow trickling    water. "Have you something to say to me    House", I asked "Before I up and leave you forever", The little sound, it stopped all at once    and looked up As if very surprised at having been    discovered. I rose to leave But quickly turned back amazed When from down & out of the    chimney Crept this little voice so slight & warm    & tender. " Forgive me Sir", it said, "But I could contain myself no longer, That little sound you hear, the tiny    trickle Is but the teardrops from my eyes    dripping Such a pain and sorrow as yours I never heard before Those anguish drenched words They seeped through my walls right    into my heart They pierced me deeply, Yea, they pretty near tore me apart, I'll remember you Sir when you're    gone I don't think I could ever forget you". I listened and was sorely moved "Thank you House ", I said, "thank     you, thank you kindly" And turning again at the front door "Goodbye House, look after those    who'll live here, won't you". Outside the birds, they were singing And up in the sky, the sun The sun, it was shining.

Sailors, chanters and politicians Proselytize our new dimensions Warriors, weavers and priest-drawn blood Sanctify our new haven. The sun comes up We chop wood Toolerize and gamify our fun Still the same man under the same sun. And for millennia The new is suppressed Marked as devilry To keep us meek. Feeling crazy today Going to have my say But first I'll impregnate The Chief's chief lay.

Rebellion
I've sat here for 21 years Watching all this go by People say things cliché With pretension in their eye I'm tired of hearing, everyday, what life is all about Reality is getting boring, let's tune in and drop out Have you heard the one About the killer and the priest? One blesses people with less and less And one is just a thief In "somewhere else" my mind is broken down Reality is getting boring yet still its name resounds There's stories everywhere you go And all of them the same Reductive plots and happy endings Just under another name I'm quiet as I sit and listen to what they all say Reality is getting boring, maybe I'll revisit it some other day

"This is the day we've been waiting on.  It's ok to be nervous but don't be scared.  You are the sacred vessel" said the tall dark skin woman as she looked down into the eyes of the ten year old boy.  Dressed in a red and black robe the ten year old boy says "I'm not afraid.  I'm just ready to get this over with."  "That's just what I wanted to hear Levi.  It's time to get started.  Please follow behind me" said the tall dark skin woman.  "Yes mother" said Levi as he followed his mother out of his room.  Leading Levi down a long hall that was illuminated with red light his mother says "When Priest summon the spirit Cruelty remember not to fight it.  Just let it take over."  "Ok" said Levi.  When Levi and his mother entered the worship area Levi's mother had him stand in front of the altar and the clergy.  "Thank you Harriet for escorting Levi to the altar" said a tall figure wearing a black hooded robe.  "You're welcome Priest" said Harriet.  Stepping down from the altar holding a baby creature in his right hand and a knife in his left hand Priest stood in front of Levi.  Priest stabbed the baby creature in it's stomach and ripped it opened.  He then dipped his finger in the baby creature's blood and anointed Levi's forehead with it's blood.  "Bring me the Book of Sins" said Priest.  Stepping down from the altar holding the Book of Sins a short figure wearing a black hooded robe brought Priest the Book of Sins.  Turning to the chapter of Cruelty, Priest began reading.  "As night blinds the sight of the male and the female and Hate stands on the grave of Love.  Only then will evil reveal it self.  Like Death stalking the living Cruelty will crush Kindness.  I offer this vessel to the mistress Cruelty.  Come forward I summon you Cruelty."  When Priest finished reading from the Book of Sins the red lights that illuminated the compound began to flicker off and on.  From out of no where a gust of wind began to circle around Levi.  Slowly the wind began to transform into black smoke.  Over taken with fear Levi was unable to move.  Entering through Levi's gaping mouth the black smoke took possession of him.  Shaking violently Levi fell to the floor.  "Levi are you all right?" asked Priest.  Standing to his feet and looking Priest in his face with eyes as black as death Levi says "The child is no longer in control."  Walking up to Priest, Levi sticks his hand in Priest's stomach and pulls out his intestines.  "LEVI YOU KILLED YOUR FATHER!" screamed Harriet as she ran over to the lifeless body of Priest.  "I am Cruelty.  Like I told the child's father Levi is no longer in control but for amusement everyone may still call me Levi" said Cruelty as she looked at Harriet.  Pointing at the robed figures on the altar Cruelty tells them to get rid of Priest's dead body.  "Yes Levi" said the robed figures. Salto Angel dances an Aqua-Skirt Such Fashion pleased the Tourists below How else can the Latin earn your Fervour But surpass your Record of height and snow? Funny, how her Majesty can suppress Even more when viewing up from this Point Like a Crone who often tries to oppress A Revolt which a Priest failed to Anoint And lowering my Camera, I see The many Prizes I did Hit-and-Miss But she roared with showers raining gently And, enough! They saw Rainbows turn to bliss. So I sat on a Rock to watch and live Hoping my Partner would rise to forgive.

There is snow on the ground, And the valleys are cold, And a midnight profound Blackly squats o'er the wold; But a light on the hilltops half-seen hints of feastings unhallowed and old. There is death in the clouds, There is fear in the night, For the dead in their shrouds Hail the sun's turning flight. And chant wild in the woods as they dance round a Yule-altar fungous and white. To no gale of Earth's kind Sways the forest of oak, Where the thick boughs entwined By mad mistletoes choke, For these pow'rs are the pow'rs of the dark, from the graves of the lost Druid-folk. And mayst thou to such deeds Be an abbot and priest, Singing cannibal greeds At each devil-wrought feast, And to all the incredulous world shewing dimly the sign of the beast.

Sectarian’s recant Sanctum’s Shrine the rite of soul is lost As neophytes are dancing… the High Priest counts the cost, Theocracy unbalances as Voodoo’s stamp the floor And the Prophets throw their hands up, fast retreating for the door. And Holy Bread...to Crust!
In the rectory garden on his evening walk Paced brisk Father Shawn. A cold day, a sodden one it was In black November. After a sliding rain Dew stood in chill sweat on each stalk, Each thorn; spiring from wet earth, a blue haze Hung caught in dark-webbed branches like a fabulous heron. Hauled sudden from solitude, Hair prickling on his head, Father Shawn perceived a ghost Shaping itself from that mist. 'How now,' Father Shawn crisply addressed the ghost Wavering there, gauze-edged, smelling of woodsmoke, 'What manner of business are you on? From your blue pallor, I'd say you inhabited the frozen waste Of hell, and not the fiery part. Yet to judge by that dazzled look, That noble mien, perhaps you've late quitted heaven?' In voice furred with frost, Ghost said to priest: 'Neither of those countries do I frequent: Earth is my haunt.' 'Come, come,' Father Shawn gave an impatient shrug, 'I don't ask you to spin some ridiculous fable Of gilded harps or gnawing fire: simply tell After your life's end, what just epilogue God ordained to follow up your days. Is it such trouble To satisfy the questions of a curious old fool?' 'In life, love gnawed my skin To this white bone; What love did then, love does now: Gnaws me through.' 'What love,' asked Father Shawn, 'but too great love Of flawed earth-flesh could cause this sorry pass? Some ****** condition you are in: Thinking never to have left the world, you grieve As though alive, shriveling in torment thus To atone as shade for sin that lured blind man.' 'The day of doom Is not yest come. Until that time A crock of dust is my dear hom.' 'Fond phantom,' cried shocked Father Shawn, 'Can there be such stubbornness-- A soul grown feverish, clutching its dead body-tree Like a last storm-crossed leaf? Best get you gone To judgment in a higher court of grace. Repent, depart, before God's trump-crack splits the sky.' From that pale mist Ghost swore to priest: 'There sits no higher court Than man's red heart.'

I would rather drink than eat, And though I superbly sup, Food, I feel, can never beat Delectation of the cup. Wine it is that crowns the feast; Fish and fowl and fancy meat Are of my delight the least: I would rather drink than eat. Though no Puritan I be, And have doubts of Kingdom Come, With those fellows I agree Who deplore the Demon *** Gin and brandy I decline, And I shy at whisky neat; But give me rare vintage wine,-- Gad! I'd rather drink than eat. Food surfeit is of the beast; Wine is from the gods a gift. All from ********** to priest Can attest to its uplift. Green and garnet glows the vine; Grapes grow plump in happy heat; Gold and ruby winks the wine . . . Come! Let's rather drink than eat.
