"polling" poems
I think that Jimmy Carter
A true and noble man
Should monitor the voting
Check on ballots being scanned
Watch over our elections
The suppression of our votes
Long lines, few polling places
Jimmy Carter, that’s no joke!
I pray that Jimmy Carter will
Monitor our elections
I trust he’ll keep them honest while
We’re making our selections
When there is no paper trail
And lines 5 hours long
Votings not for weak or frail
Be Jimmy Carter strong!
The man can still build houses
Even though he’s 91
Please watch those ballot boxes
Or Democracy is done!

I am being pulled from left to right
Every candidate claiming to be the light
Promising heaven, earth and even twilight
Once they win they forget you and take flight.
Gun to our heads by the future leader
'Better vote wisely or become a casper'
Ballot boxes filled with forged paper
Hold your peace or it is a recipe for disaster.
If wishes were real, beggars would ride
Voted for a meal, while the politicians lied
my country is a deal, sold as a cheap bride
All they do is steal, it's time to say goodbye.
You know we are back to the embers'
there's always someone's blood they forget to remember
Misshapen chaos of well-seeming forms!
We are in a fine mess with honorable villions.

Do you solemnly swear or affirm that you will faithfully execute your role as a citizen in this democracy, and will to the best of your ability, preserve, protect and defend the constitution of the United States?
Do you expect your president to? Your congress?
You don't have to believe in politics because even if you don't
they will still exist.
They will still make decisions that effect your livelihood.
You could move away, sure, but if you lived here long enough,
you're an American.
And wherever you go, they will see you as your country.
They'll hear it when you speak.
You could refuse to preach for a country you're not proud of,
that's fine.
But the grumblings often heard from these masses, the complaints,
the horrified hushed whispers and the disdain,
those shouldn't be uttered either.
Those masses were the students in school who never received awards for participation,
they're embarrassed by their government but have never stepped foot in a polling booth, better yet, never even registered to vote.
I know, because I was one of them.
We know the arguments.
We all fear that our vote wont matter.
I'm part of a generation where it seems that
giving a **** isn't cool anyway.
Dank memes are meant to be liked and not followed up on.
Armchairs are in every home and those who sit in it keep it warm.
But there's more on our heads, guys.
And even more in our hands.
They can blame us left and right for the indifference we practice,
but we'll only justify it in our silence.
Give a ****
Give two.
Sitting around in echo chambers
only results in deafening noise.
And you can't run away if you can't hear them coming.
And the voices, they sometimes make me sick to my stomach.
but I'm stronger than fear mongered puke.
And though it's "cooler" to bask in your sickness amongst my peers,
It doesn't move anything.
I don't need to know or be a minority personally to know that they're being hunted.
To believe their stories, that have been proven countless times anyway.
And I strongly believe that neither does anyone else.
Bystanding up to the man will result in blame games.
Do something. Even if it's not much.
There's promise out there.
You just have to make an oath to find it.

The enemy's at the gate,
He's
black,
white,
brown,
yellow
He's
Muslim,
Christian,
Jewish,
Atheist,
Buddist,
Hindu.
He's,
a revolutionist,
a communist,
a capitalist,
an extremeist,
a terrorist,
an infidel
He's got,
cluster bombs,
weapons of mass destruction,
heat seeking missiles,
the atomic bomb.
He's
going to **** your women,
burn your house down,
eat your children,
and drink your blood.
REMEMBER THIS AT THE POLLING BOTH

In certain cases and cirmcustances , we question various reports.
Some realistic and some simple fiction.
But is all things based on race?
Probably not?
But on the perception of the public.
So let's dive into various events reported lately.
Why?
Why?
Do white females have no guts to report events twenty years ago?
But suddenly now?
We have law enforcers and lawyers in a society ready to go.
With the Supreme Court nominee allegation, we seeing tricks of tricks playing out.
Whether you like him or not, this guilt attack could have been reported.
What stopped her?
Many playing some of it down cause thee allegations comes now when he about to be elevated higher in the court system?
And let's be real a lot of stupidity goes on in our teen years that we ALL might regrets.
What do experts say?
We not wise to make an adult decision in our youth.
Which many of us know not exactly true.
Even with Cosby attacks many still think if the lady took a secret payment.
She played a guilt in him if true doing more against the others.
Plus, by law, she owes the money back.
It's a broken contractual agreement.
And many men still doubt some accusation.
Is with the famous accuser?
Why?
Didn't take go to news a long time ago?
In some these cases, they were mixed, racial accusers?
If took a poll mainly always one sided based in race polling?
Many would high light white females love to play along and stay the silent partner in cases.
And this isn't always about they were fearful.
But their partial guilt will be exposed.
All these high-level ****** harassment cases level against news executive points out various themes.
They still worked for the company and around him.
For what?
They had a family to take care of in life.
Sounds good but many of us know we not going stay in a hostile environment too long.
What's going to get better?
Some, hate to admit it.
Rose through the ranks to be high-level anchors.
At most companies, many employees know the "slept her way to the top" female.
And then the case "huntress" always on the scene Gloria Allred the lawyer present in most cases.
What high profile lawyer?
Do anything for free?
Of all races, it seems white females have this selected memory that surfaces back just at the right time.
But no one can make you be quiet.
Although a few friends and family try with you gonna embarrassed the family.
But if it gives you a peace of mind.
Follow your heart and go after your accusers.
True friends and family stay at your best supporters.

i am the kind of kid
who when i think of birthdays i think
eighteen instead of twenty one.
i have been wanting to vote since before
it ever even occurred to me to look forward to ***** shots.
so fast forward to 2015, gearing up to the 2016 presidential race
and guess who of all people is in first place?
donald trump.
and it’s funny
because i had an argument with a friend the other day
over the importance of voting.
politics? he says he just doesn’t care.
he doesn’t understand.
ignorance is not a luxury we can all afford.
donald trump is not funny.
he is far too scary and far too real to simply be a caricature.
make no mistake, donald trump doesn’t care for people like my father,
whether they’re here legally or not.
donald trump doesn’t care for people like me,
whether we were born here or not.
his compassion ends within a five mile
range of the the rio grande
and donald trump wants to “make america great again”
by building walls around us to keep anyone south of the border out.
donald trump wants to run this country like a corporation
with the HR department cut.
make no mistake, donald trump is not funny.
donald trump is not funny,
he is terrifying.
he is reminiscent of a past we cannot afford to repeat.
apathy is not a luxury we can all afford.
remember: we are responsible for our own ignorance
we are just much of what we put into this world
as we are what we take
out of it.
if we don't like who is playing god
and we don’t like the way he pulls the strings,
we have to remember who handed him the bible
so he could swear himself in.

If you can keep your feet upon the flat ground
And draw the line at frivolous ideals
And tell yourself this downhill train can turn round
With just a bit more fat to grease the wheels
If you can reduce all the pressing questions
To a straight coin toss between blue and red
If you can close your ears to all suggestions
That there might be a wider choice instead
If you can vote the way your parents voted
If you can leave debating to the press
And disregard each novel concept floated
While wondering how we got in this mess
If you believe the latest polling numbers
Regardless of the leanings of their source
If you believe that while this nation slumbers
It somehow still can hold to the best course
If manifestos leave you feeling hazy
If your first thought is what's in this for me
If anyone who disagrees is crazy
And not just someone who thinks differently
If you would rather come to a decision
Based on the outfits of the leaders' wives
If anyone with hope, ideals or vision
Is just a naive fool to be despised
And if when you are at the polling station
You'll squash down any doubts that you possess
If you can put your needs above the nation
And never give a thought to its distress
If you can steel yourself against reflection
And, promised real change, if you hold your nerve
You'll vote like all the rest at the election
And, what's more, get the leaders you deserve.

To polling stations
Going out in droves,
With their unanimous voice,
Electors made clear their choice-
“A breath of fresh air
Would be fair! ”
But as a democracy patrons
Also democracy vendors,
You thought-
“Better an old Satan
Than an angel new born,
The heart of a new angel,
We may not crack open!”
As peace brokers,
To dissuade voters
You dinned into their ears,
“Democracy is a process!
Thus it entails
The gradual unfolding of rights!
Specially in developing nations,
It is tardy in striking roots!”
You also went to say
“The ill-favoured government ,
Though by ballot card made out of play
And adamant to let power away,
A midwife to self-determination
Had paved the way
For the fairness you enjoy today.
Imagine the price it had to pay!”
Tirelessly you pleaded voters
To see reasons
And give the government
A time-out and stalemate,
Also to let it take part
In a joint government!
The hardest way
What people learnt today
Is democracy is indeed a process
That could suffer setbacks,
Or experience a lapse
And down clutters
A tyranny abyss!
Double dealers
Now as a democracy undertaker
You venture to offer
A hearse,
What a farce!
As history
Recorded it in its annals
Go ahead fish in troubled water,
By your very nature
You are capable
To do nothing better!

Incompetent, corrupt and on the make,
You know all politicians are the same
You know this public service thing's a fake,
A cover for one more expenses claim.
Don't read their manifestos (they're all lies)
Don't go to meetings: stay in, watch TV
I'll tell you just which aspects to despise
You can't trust politicians. Just trust me.
And if on polling day you hold the line
You'll send a powerful message, do you see?
The lowest voter turnout of all time:
Vote by neglect – that's true democracy.
I'll make the choice for you, so don't be sad -

Well, so they tell us-
the political gladiators and
heavy weights. That in permanent
servitude we must remain.
They create a void in our stomachs,
which they momentarily fill with
what they carted away from us.
Just for their self will and whims
for another leap year's tenure to
be entrenched.
They widen the capacity for evil
of the canines they have intentionally
starved.
For a bone's morsel, the canines
viciously their draconian orders
execute.
Just for their masters' sit-tight
bid to be guaranteed.
Restrained with the servile chains
of their desperate overlords, they bark
ravenously at the oppressed,
who have come to liberate themselves
at polling units.
Each time the unworthy is by the
ballot box overthrown, the ravenous
canines at the hands of feeble
patriots gnaw.
A pound of flesh they take
from the down-trodden kingmakers,
to usurp the power they have
in good governance vested.
The umpire with filthy lucre gratified,
raises the hand of the fraudulently
triumphant political Brahmin,
who for another leap year's tenure
subjugates his dalits with utter
deprivation; ASUU strikes, poor infrastructure,
incessant power cuts, poor health delivery,
persistent insecurity, unemployment
and the cancerous bad governance.
With fat cheeks and stiff neck
that is well sunken into a robust torso,
he regularly raises the sides of an
African attire of elitist renown,
set once more to amass more spoils
of political office for a privileged
family dynasty.

Here’s something
I thought you ought to know
He’s polling at
A really all time low
But I guess that
Only goes to show
If you stopped to asked
I would have told you so
Think about it
And it makes perfect sense
That he’s an idiot
Who lacks experience
So you can make a note
It’s in the present tense
That we hold our breaths
While the world is in suspense
See you can’t believe
A word that man has said
And he tends to tweet
Whatever’s in his head
Thoughts he might have had
Before he went to bed
Suddenly becomes
What the world is fed
When he smiles
You see his pearly whites
You’d smile too
If you knew his acolytes
Who line up everyday
To kiss his ring
And to arrange his praises
That they sing

America
wake up
the country
is in despair
rid yourselves
of Obama
make it a quick affair
vote for good
representation
vote for the good
of the country's
well being
tick all the squares
give the opposing party
a whopping share
tis the voting season
tis a time for reason
Washington
cannot be in the hands
of Obama and his sidekicks
they've damaged
America
so dreadfully
be active at polling stations
for the betterment of the nation
show Mr Obama
that he is losing
a large proportion
of his voter share

I do not believe in picturesque letters
on the parchment.
In counting, polling and marching.
I do not believe in mosaics and stained glass
or in various rainbows after the storm and rain.
I do not even believe in the songs of tired musicians,
in the waves on the docks
and in imaginary looks of melancholic cony-catchers.
I only believe in pore on stone,
centuries-old testimony
and forgiveness after cognition.

Halloween night 2015--
A bevy of goblins and ghouls
Out there in the dark of the night
Met to shape their new rules.
"Let us unite! Let us be one
In our quest to upset the truth."
Their work, they agreed, would come to fruition
In a future polling booth.
"Stir the cauldron of rampant despair;
Throw in confusion and doubt.
Add a pinch of oblivion so no one
Knows what we're about.
Let us deceive with facile duplicity;
Let us trick the unwary.
Above all, don't let them see our true selves.
THAT, fellow ghouls, would be scary!"
Their voices rose in the crisp autumn darkness--
A murky, grumbling chant:
"Hiss. Hiss. Ignorance is bliss.
Woe to them who recant….
"Let us be amorphous and vague;
Let them see what we're not.
Give us the power of doublespeak
To dodge all critical thought."
Werewolves howled. Black cats screeched.
A haunting moan filled the air.
A poor, disoriented bat got tangled
In one ghoul's corn-tassel hair.
"May we strengthen our power to mislead--
To obliterate those who defy us
With vicious attacks based on lies.
We'll let nothing get by us.
"Let us prolong the witching hour.
May it last for a years!
Stir the *** of forgetfulness,"
They all said with sneers.
Halloween night 2015--
A frightening night to remember.
Beware the ghoul leading the pack
In 2016 in November.

Welcome to the new America.
Two hundred forty-some years, and wow!:
A few years of Donald Trump,
And look at what we have here now:
Republicans who once held
American values in high esteem
Parrot Kremlin propaganda,
Giving shape to Putin’s dream.
The president, boldly abusing
The power of pardon multiple times,
Pardons servicemen who
Have been convicted of war crimes.
Though bribery’s a crime by law,
Believe it or not, Republicans say
That when the president commits it,
Breaking the law is--yikes!--okay.
By frequently abusing his power,
The president, who acts like a king,
Plots White House cover-ups
And lies about almost everything.
An adversary becomes our ally;
Former allies become estranged.
The nation is more vulnerable
As priorities are rearranged.
Be a part of the “Me Too” movement,
But be aware of the current dictum:
Accuse someone of ****** assault,
And the perpetrator will be the victim.
Taking advantage of his position,
The president is free to loot
The country for his own enrichment,
And many people don’t give a hoot.
If you are seeking asylum, forget it.
The country now will let you in
If you pass a major requirement:
It all depends on the color of your skin.
Climate change is called a hoax
And regulations are rolled back.
Criticize the president
And find yourself under attack.
White nationalists who are close
To the president help him make
Intolerant policies
That put our rights and freedom at stake.
Now congressional oversight
Is called a witch hunt, a lynching, a coup.
To understand the president's motives,
Just ask, "What would Putin do?"
So welcome…I mean…welcome maybe.
America seems to have a new face--
One to be changed mainly by thoughtful
Attention at the polling place.

No one romance is ever the same.
We strive for it with a serious claim.
But when you see these reports of polls on various events.
This is when you must ask yourself?
Who do the polling on love?
Seriously, I'm asking this question.
No, love doctor's can confess they know it all.
And if they speak to several folks you only getting an opinion.
Then again, we must laugh at ourselves to ever buy into polls.
Cause we aware God never polled us.

Poet : Praise Ncube
Poem : Death of democracy in Zimbabwe.
Date : 19/01/22
They fought the oppressors,
For them to be oppressors.
The blood
The sweat
And that unity , was all meant to
slaughter and cremate democracy,
FOREVER !!!
Look , she's crying.
Democracy is crying
They have given her capital punishment.
She's facing the guillotine
Surrounded by soldiers with guns
and so ready to ****
Brutal policemen , equipped with button sticks and handcuffs.
Look at the soldiers and the police
,they are hungry
Their kids are being chased out of classes ,
They have uncleared fees
One of the soldiers lost his mother
yesterday.
How ?
Hospitals are now pigsties
Good doctors and nurses are in the Diaspora.
But they still have courage **** DEMOCRACY.
Let the citizens speak
Refuse to be a state apparatus
African politicians are liars !
Killers !
Corrupt idiots !
They assassinate and eradicate,
prominent speakers.
Prosecution and persecution won't link
But African rulers intertwine them
And that's too harsh for democracy.
And you citizens ,
Don't be too proud to say , I don't do politics
Interested or not
Politics will do you !
Printed in the constitution is ,
FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND EXPRESSION
Translation :
YOU SPEAK , YOU FACE OPPRESSION.
With nothing resolved ,
We still face the polling station : that ballot
We queue ,
and they teach us to draw that X,
By that we suffocate democracy
We think we decide whom we want ,
No , they decide.
We elect , they select.
Voting is not part of democracy,
That's a cancer to it .
She looks helpless
It's sad and weary
But we shall be happy again.
Aluta continua.

"We're waking up, Yes it's clear, We're waking up, Dawn's
here, Feel the searing heat of Heightened consciousness
Feel yearning for, Peace and happiness", evolving.
Realize evolution's defining power as
life, growth, consciousness, realizing spirit's flight's
potential, dispel the not-see definition
of it as control through to extinction, earth's death.
GOP's sending special force to polling places to burn
mailed in ballots, intimidate voters, for naught.
Young poll workers stepped up, criminally insane's
time's up, fear doesn't exist, we're alival, ne'er
survival, our grandkids will live, scythe, shiv won't.
Civic responsibility, vote duty, is
being exercised, it's Siamese twin sister,
freedom, will exist, only if you early vote.
