"multiplied" poems
Science says that there's a mathematical equation that explains everything in life. But I say that not even physics bears an explanation for...the guidelines of attraction. Our primal reactions are multiplied in...the highlights of passion. These laws of love that linger like a lanterns lost illumination... Like the campfire light on a clear night, leaves coals of culmination. Sweat beads lead to bare threads and bare bodies. And oh my, how bare bodies lead to imaginations running wild. Cold winds inspire warm kisses and close skin. Sincere actions aren't sins. Bodies wound in union, formed by light and tightly bound. Together, these twisted vines penetrate the hardest ground... Together, harmonic souls produce passionate sounds. Yet, still somehow, love gets lost more than love gets found. This equation is unending...like numbers off lips that kiss the air. Body language spoken...Our physical bonds parallel eternity and pi squared. And you know that every moment that we share is nothing short of...molecular love for the masses... Now held captive by gravity and magnetism... See, the last full moon marked retrograde...and if the moon affects the tide of the ocean...and our bodies are roughly 75% water...can we assume that this is the only body powerful enough to keep ours apart? This gravity... This pull... It's pulling me apart...so let me pull you closer, stop pushing me away! Hold on tight, dont let these planets drift away into a dark rift of decay. Let your love lap upon this solid stone like a river riffles smooth sandbars into hills of higher ground. Because baby, without your water on my beach... I'm nothing but a desert, dry and deserted.

Special child, Divine child.
Hey lets start this thing and gain a little mnemonic Cuz the teachers always explaining things so dull and robotic But you got it, just trust this rhyme and I promise you'll have it Let me teach you the equation for the function quadratic It goes A, X and a 2 up high Add that to a B multiplied with a Y Put a plus sign and add the third term, the C And set all that equal to a 0 bee It's that easy, with that you can plot the graph That will show you where the ball went and its flightpath See the value of X shows where the line hits the axis To illustrate where the ball was caught and where it was passed It's cuts of cake to find this data with a formula rap So keep in mind these fresh rhymes to the beat of the clap You set X on the left, follow with an equal sign Put the next little sect about a dividing line And that little piece starts with a negative b Add and subtract square root of B high 2 minus 4AC Then divide what you get by 2 times A If you forget this part man, your whole answers at stake But if you follow my rules, and do all of this rap's math I guarantee the next reports gonna say that you passed

The Quadratic Function Conjunction
Always it happens when we are not there-- The tree leaps up alive into the air, Small open parasols of Chinese green Wave on each twig. But who has ever seen The latch sprung, the bud as it burst? Spring always manages to get there first. Lovers of wind, who will have been aware Of a faint stirring in the empty air, Look up one day through a dissolving screen To find no star, but this multiplied green, Shadow on shadow, singing sweet and clear. Listen, lovers of wind, the leaves are here!

Love letter To an Anorexic: sadomasochistic poetry
A teacher: The Villain and the Hero One inspiration, one true motivation That one person who gives his powerful students The right direction That one teacher who fights for the future of others Who finds success in the success of others That one person who further form a teacher Is a human-being He might seem like a villain to some But he is a hero to others He is my hero Picked me up from the gutter Made me strong enough to deal with X equals A to the second power multiplied times two He is that one teacher who taught me how to leave problems behind And solve equation easier and faster That one teacher who became a role model The perfect inspiration any student needs His way of teaching the concept His way of giving us the chance to be teachers our selves That way of making us the main importance His way of giving us our place in his class room Taking possession of our minds and changing them to capable ones Making each and every one of us students who can solve anything He expects a lot from all of us, He expects a lot from me He gives me the challenges that I can handle Gives me a chance to prove my self He taught me that X is just a variable That X is the solution That you should not be afraid of the variable That the solution is hidden behind the other factors That lesson I use in my daily life I'm not afraid of any problem in any subject Because he taught me how to deal with problems And when finding X was hard, He was there ready to answer my questions As I walk away during lunch I wish him a good lunch But what I'm actually saying is You have done a lot for these, your students Now give yourself a break and do something for your self. He might just be an algebra teacher Or a staff member at Riverside University High school Or just Mr. Sepulveda, to some people But for me he means more than that. For me he is a hero That can travel the distance And can fix any problem with time He is the Hero who inspires me He is a teacher Whom I admire greatly Not for being a teacher Or being at Riverside I admire him because he made me strong In Algebra In my problems In life And now In my poetry You sometimes are the villain For giving me a B in a test But you are the hero because for every B I get another challenge And I know that with your help I will get an A in Life. You are the Villain of my mind But the Hero of my Heart Thank-you Mr. Sepulveda Written by: Estrella Luciano For: A true hero P.S. I still think I deserved an A on that one test. ;)

The engine is killing the track, the track is silver, It stretches into the distance. It will be eaten nevertheless. Its running is useless. At nightfall there is the beauty of drowned fields, Dawn gilds the farmers like pigs, Swaying slightly in their thick suits, White towers of Smithfield ahead, Fat haunches and blood on their minds. There is no mercy in the glitter of cleavers, The butcher's guillotine that whispers: 'How's this, how's this?' In the bowl the hare is aborted, Its baby head out of the way, embalmed in spice, Flayed of fur and humanity. Let us eat it like Plato's afterbirth, Let us eat it like Christ. These are the people that were important ---- Their round eyes, their teeth, their grimaces On a stick that rattles and clicks, a counterfeit snake. Shall the hood of the cobra appall me ---- The loneliness of its eye, the eye of the mountains Through which the sky eternally threads itself? The world is blood-hot and personal Dawn says, with its blood-flush. There is no terminus, only suitcases Out of which the same self unfolds like a suit Bald and shiny, with pockets of wishes, Notions and tickets, short circuits and folding mirrors. I am mad, calls the spider, waving its many arms. And in truth it is terrible, Multiplied in the eyes of the flies. They buzz like blue children In nets of the infinite, Roped in at the end by the one Death with its many sticks.

They said there was a drought water was short not enough for domestic use. At first declaring it was nobody's fault it had not rained for a long time! Committing an offence by using a hose pipe truthfully was a load of tripe. Water companies are making a financial killing everyone encouraged not to waste water. More fancy gadgets the public would be willing to buy water use multiplied. As the buzz was building more on any land telling us there was a demand! Thousands of houses built was there a big need statistics only the government held. Groups tried protesting for it not to proceed but fields were still built on. Heavy rains came with more depleted drainage so did the despair and rage. A state of increasing taxes with nothing to show more became classed as poor. Communication with voters becoming very slow the authorities had a strangle hold! As the ban on a non existent drought dragged on more doubters joined the throng! Was there a danger of a growing national threat from people against the elite. Basking in luxury as the masses increasing in debt the drought added more fuel. Restrictions taking away their dignity it turned sour there would be a defining hour. Or is this just a modern nightmare tale? The Foureyed Poet.

*Pride, personified, Satan. Lucifer's pride his desire to compete with God his fall from Heaven, and his resultant transformation into Satan. Pride personified, but what of us, the humans, not Angels What pride are we guilty of? The original and most deadly of the seven. The original and most serious of the seven deadly sins, the source of the others Pride is sometimes viewed as excessive or as a vice. Pride, Dante's definition was "love of self perverted to hatred and contempt for one's neighbour", but Pride involves exhilarated pleasure and a feeling of accomplishment. What accomplishment? That one is better than others? Our social and economic standing? Our supercilious ego's? A better house? The pride that comes with snobbery? Our arrogance at believing in only ourselves? Yet, through negativity, positivity can come of pride, results from satisfaction with meeting personal goals; Family, friends, education. Amplified and multiplied, pride takes a satisfied place in all our hearts. A complex secondary emotion. The first and strongest emotion being love Love cannot be prideful Yet, pride comes before a fall. And we as humans fall in love*

Pride (Latin,Superbia, Greek, Hubris)
I believe things happen for a reason Whether it's God or the force Some kind of cosmic power pulling strings and writing stories I'm not sure But I can tell you that I have somehow defied my own odds The choices I made did not take me away I am here There were times when I didn't think I would make it my high school graduation and that I would not see my 18th birthday The scars on my arms multiplied And the demons in my head screamed louder than ever before I lost my first love Then I lost my second I watched my family explode from close range And then I watched from a far Every insecurity swirled in my head like a blizzard I could not see a bright future And then something clicked Something bigger than myself took hold of my mind My heart was no longer heavy And I don't know if that's God stepping in or my own power of will But I have somehow managed to save myself And I know there is no quick fix to this disease that has held me captive for so long But I'm realizing that you should never stop moving when it gets dark Never quit breathing when the air gets thin And never back down even when your opponent is twice your size Or even when your opponent is yourself I know things happen for a reason That's obviously why I'm still here And although there is still a dark cloud over me I can start to see the sun beams And I know one day my sky will be clear

Partly Sunny Skies
I drift lifeless in this weary night Not cognizant of these dark ways A tear in my eye blurs my sight Souvenir of bright, beautiful days I hear the sound of leaves, dry Crushed like my life, torn apart Like a soft, muffled cry I hear their echo in my heart I turned around with a firm belief Of someone in this way unknown But the sight multiplied my grief An empty road with a shadow of my own I looked up at the moon profound Prepared I was to shout aloud At this happiness I just found When she hid behind a chunk of cloud

Walking Alone on an Empty Road
The sky is cloudy, yellowed by the smoke. For view there are the houses opposite Cutting the sky with one long line of wall Like solid fog: far as the eye can stretch Monotony of surface & of form Without a break to hang a guess upon. No bird can make a shadow as it flies, For all is shadow, as in ways o'erhung By thickest canvass, where the golden rays Are clothed in hemp. No figure lingering Pauses to feed the hunger of the eye Or rest a little on the lap of life. All hurry on & look upon the ground, Or glance unmarking at the passers by The wheels are hurrying too, cabs, carriages All closed, in multiplied identity. The world seems one huge prison-house & court Where men are punished at the slightest cost, With lowest rate of colour, warmth & joy.

The mathematician never finished his work today Which is weird because it was the most important project of his career. Working on the equation for the perfect person, left it halfway done. The other half lost in this numerical mind. But that's what we are, two halves of an unfinished project. A slip atom A half of a binomial theorem A parabola at the apex of its' focus, ready to fall right back on its' feet. Because apart we are imperfect, we trip, we fall But when multiplied we are a product of perfection, able to point out that mistaken branch before you have time to brace yourself. I'll take those expanded arms and wrap them around me, feel your acute angles against my obtuse curves. Put my hand on your neck, not to feel your skin, well: to do that too, but also to feel your pulse. Knowing it beats at the same intervals as mine. And no one know why the mathematician never completed the equation. …maybe fell asleep… …maybe distracted… …maybe he just forgot… But I thank him. Because perfect is lonely and you...you are everything. Without him the Y= to my MX+being would never be linear. And I'm not good at math, neither are you, but I'm pretty sure we don't need to look in the back of the book for any answers.

The greatness of Nature cannot be denied. Her grandeur is plain for all to see. Such sheer determination can only be admired. See that tiny ***** on yonder rock face: Some miniature plant has taken hold Where nothing else could live. We know that Mother Nature rules the Earth. But what about the stars? Billions of exoplanets wave at me In my mind’s eye. For life right here can thrive in boiling acid And solid sheets of ice. What scope for life is there out there, Amongst the swirling galaxies And gassy nebulae? I tell you now: There’s almost ENDLESS Opportunity For life to evolve Around this Universe Alone. Yes, she’s much, much more than “Mother Earth”: More “Mother Multiverse”. Mother Nature multiplied a million, million times. Imagine That. Paul Butters

Mother Multiverse
The sea awoke at midnight from its sleep, And round the pebbly beaches far and wide I heard the first wave of the rising tide Rush onward with uninterrupted sweep; A voice out of the silence of the deep, A sound mysteriously multiplied As of a cataract from the mountain’s side, Or roar of winds upon a wooded steep. So comes to us at times, from the unknown And inaccessible solitudes of being, The rushing of the sea-tides of the soul; And inspirations, that we deem our own, Are some divine foreshadowing and foreseeing Of things beyond our reason or control.

Google is the gift for An inquisitive student, Who is in search to be knowledgeably potent. Although it makes One so dependent, It bestows erudition That is too consistent. Google serves us with mail, That saves our time to sail. It’s services like the maps Leaves a stranded person to bridge the gaps. Gaps? Yes, it bridges the gaps With all its possible apps, The interests of the public And concepts of the prolific. When Google well handed Our queries have added, Whose possible solutions have multiplied, For which the efforts been phenomenally divided. With the transforming technologies In this world of transience Google has procured Its own state of omnipresence. Thus, Google has become the tool With which the user can rule. it's the third of may feeling crowded and out of place I could really use a change for the first time in my life I realize though I love my hometown if I stay, I may soon die the seeds I've planted have turned on me, gone rogue instead flowers they're vines like ropes they've multiplied and are about to take hold there's no other choice, I've got to go I hope that behind the horizon line I may find all that I'm looking for, a new life I fear leaving but I've got to try because if I stay, I may soon die

leaves start to fall they're mango-red and dry but seem like scattered tears in the grey dawn when i have got the paper from the lawn and sought the new day's fortune in the sky with hope the auguries will not now lie while those who sleep behind curtains still drawn miss happy sight of trotting deer and fawn for all the world like neighbours passing by now this is change and magic in its way which multiplied becomes the world's own form and contains us such moments we retain in deepest memory against the day of dearth and sorrow in the heart of storm when we are lashed by coldest wind and rain

Extra! Extra! Read All About It !! Recent Icelandic Sledding accident. A mountain of Vanilla pudding was mistaken for the Olympic Sledding Hill. Professional sledders lined up, leaped on their sleds, and found themselves floundering in pudding. The mayhem was only multiplied by swarms of wild parrots, squawking at sledders as they thrashed about attempting to dislodge themselves from the pit of pudding swallowing them whole.   Survivors were taken to Pud'N'Pie Clinic, for treatment of acute pudding suffocation, and treated with chocolate syrup and whip cream.
