hey you,
can’t recall where or how i know ya,
but your grannie is very kewl,
(we agree on the proper pronunciation)
boldly asked if that included “benefits,”
she heartily answered **** right”
“one man is pretty much as good as the next,
but younger is definitely better, and you a spring chickadee,
at age of sixty years and three,
so many years ahead to share,
your social security bene-fits,
making me swoon
and giving me ‘flashes ‘n fits’
and given your life expectancies,
spousal wud be nice,
even ain’t a necessity,
looking forward to pleasuring your company”

Happy Birthday William
Happy Birthday son
an age of new beginings
and age of nearly man
a time for being grown up
but time to be a child
a laugh that no one gets no more
an age where you so can
a time for showing strength
yet gently goes the way
a time for cake and candles
a time for shaves and spray
an age where dad is kewl sometimes
an age where he is not
a mum that calls you in from out
a cry of whats the time ....
an age of girls now in your life
that you so want in quiet
time to man up now my son
a time... go break the cycle
time to spread your shoulders .... stand up proud and tall
time to take a view on life like never had before
time to make your peace..... enjoy the freinds you have
time to grab the future and take it by the hand

April 1st begins National Poetry Month, and napowrimo.net posts a daily prompt during the entire month. Anyone else want to join me in giving it a run? I did half a month last year before my computer blew up, so I'm looking to finish the month this time. It was a kewl learning experience, and I got more good poetry from it than I expected. Please message me if you 'd like to come along. I am setting up an HP community for all poets who care to try.
