"israelites" poems
They told him he was an orphan, to be swept, like so much dirt, under the Empire’s carpet. He had further to go than the Israelites to be delivered into slavery. The men of God would make an honest man of him. This was not an attitude of prayer as he knelt naked outside Brother X’s room. This was no crucifix he was made to clasp in the dark. This was no blessed communion he was forced to receive on his tongue. This Judas betrayed him with more than a kiss. Forty years he has carried his cross, hoping for a resurrection of the truth. “Silent night, unholy night,” we all sang and then, like God, we were strangely silent.

SILENT NIGHT
The Israelites (/ˈɪzriəlaɪts/; Hebrew: בני ישראל‎ Bnei Yisra'el) were a confederation of Iron Age Semitic-speaking tribes of the ancient Near East inhabiting parts of Canaan during the tribal &    monarchic periods; Modern archaeology has largely discarded the historicity of the Jewish religious narrative; re-framing it as constituting an inspired national myth: The Israelites & their culture according to modern archaeological accounts,          did not overtake the region by force, instead branching out from the indigenous         [Canaanite peoples long inhabiting the Southern Levant, Syria, ancient Israel, and the Trans-Jordan region] through the development of a distinct                  _monolatristic_— [_Monolatry_ (Greek: μόνος (monos) = single, and λατρεία (latreia) = worship) is the belief in the existence of many gods    but with the consistent worship of the one deity; the term       "monolatry" was perhaps first used              by Julius Wellhausen; Modern scholars of Israel's religion have become much more circumspect in how they use the Old Testament;     not least because many have concluded      the Bible is not a reliable witness to the true religion of ancient Israel and Judah;     representing the beliefs of only a small segment of the ancient community                                          _centered in Jerusalem_              & devoted to the exclusive worship              of the god "Yahweh": Monolatry is              distinct from monotheism,   which asserts the existence of only one god; and henotheism,  a religious system in which the believer worships one god w/out denying that others may worship different gods with equal validity]; later cementing as a monotheistic religion centered on Yahweh, one of the Ancient Canaanite deities; the outgrowth of Yahweh-centric beliefs along with a number of cult practices gradually gave rise to a distinct Israelite ethnic group setting them apart                        from the other Canaanites

Dozing on a hammock Strung between two towering palms With the sky above- color washed in turquoise blue and the waters below reflecting that heavenly hue, you came to me sailing in a dream like the strains of a symphony causing endless vibrations in my solitary heart you showed up all too sudden like a rainbow on my vacant sky after a cloud burst of cloistered grief to blaze it with iridescent shades Your smile embalmed my bruised spirit with the coolness of a  summer drizzle falling, like manna over starved Israelites in their arduous odyssey through blistering sands Your passionate breath, spewed on my face bore the scent of opening buds in the mazy tangle of wild creepers growing dense in nearby woods. Your amorous whispers fell in my ears with the sweetness of the melody from Krishna’s flute with Radha near ,love sick her lips curled in an immaculate smile. Your soft footsteps like the jingle of a court dancer echoed in the silence of my soul with a hundred evocations As the jingles came nearer in synchronizing rhythm I held out my arms to clasp you in tight embrace and reel you in frenzied jig But you vanished, vanished, with the swiftness of bubbles rising and breaking in a beer glass, leaving me to my desolate zone The sky overhead had changed into another shade Still I lay in mid air, with my eyes sealed tight to re-live that dream once again!

I read the book of Samuel I read the story of the Israelites Of how they rejected God “We want a king!” they demanded “We want to be like other nations” Rejecting God’s kingship. The same God who brought them up Out of the ******* of Pharaoh Out of slavery in Egypt The same God who gave them victories Over many nations and wars The same God who had fed them For forty years in the wilderness Same God who had proved Beyond reasonable doubt That He is the King of kings A Lord above all lords They chose to downgrade! I was swept away in a mind journey As I thought of how it must have felt To be rejected by your own children Repudiated by your beloved Disowned by the very people you love. My heart bled! The heartbreak was unimaginable The pain was excruciating As my mind pointed fingers of accusation I couldn’t find befitting words *“Foolish Israelites!” “Unrepentant idiots!” “Stubborn generation!”* And as my mind went awry Heaping insults on God’s people Raining accusations on them Judging an imperfect people as myself… His still small voice whispered ***“You are all the same” “You have done worse”*** Then it struck me Like a lightening of a million volts I am the Israelites I am the very people of God I am the same ones I condemn I have betrayed God repeatedly I have chosen sin above my maker My iniquities know no bounds I have trivialized His blood I have made a mess of the cross. *I am the “foolish Israelites!” I am the “unrepentant idiots!” I am the “stubborn generation!”* My heart melted into tears Shame covered me like a cloud My head was bowed in ignominy. Unable to speak or move I lay there, weeping at my wickedness No words were spoken But I felt His arms embrace me In acknowledgement of my repentance I never deserved it But He loved me nonetheless. I pointed one finger at them But three pointed back at me! © Raphael Uzor

Goliath never Praised his wife, Never said He loved her. He came up short Of his intent, She felt more worthy, Had to vent, So stole off from The Philistine camp, Crossed the sands Like a vamp, To join Israelites Preparing For the final fight. A challenge Came From the Giant, To send out one To die defiant. David rose In shepherd's clothes, Goliath's wife Lay near. When David reached For shield and spear, She handed him A bra. Her over the shoulder Boulder holder Had Philistines guffaw. Her Double D's, Once there to please, Brought Goliath Grovelling To his knees. He lopped off Goliath's head, Enjoyed the same Back in bed. The lesson taught? It doesn't matter, Tall or not, Be sure to Tell your wife She's hot!

Honey was my favourite word because it was so many things it was a noun an adjective It was your lover is she on your lips on your tongue? Honey flowed through mouths or into them it was nourishment and God promised the Israelites honey in paradise so it was my favourite word and God gave me words as my honey so I took it and made paradise where honey flowed through streams as words flew from my mouth and my daddy called me honey so I stuck my words to pages and passed out my paradise like religious pamphlets because writing was my religion and I wanted to spread it like honey on toast so the world could taste the nourishment of words and be satisfied

Dolly Parton: bright as waters cleft before the Israelites may your matrons, sons, and daughters, bluegrass saints and satellites crown our country, brim our fountains long as your lyrical honor reaches from the Appalachian mountains to that land the Bible preaches. Hear our thanks for all your singing all the years of Faith and Glory lifting up the Lord – then stinging like a psalm (imprecatory).

To Dolly
Moses ran from Egypt. Into the wilderness. Turned aside to see a burning bush. God's Presence. Sandals removed. Holy ground. The call. Argued with God. "Send someone else. I'm a bad choice. I'm too scared. I can't talk. You don't know what You're doing, Lord." God's patience. Tried. By Moses. But still He was kind. "I will be with you, the entire time." How long was the gap? While God worked on the heart. Of Moses. Until... A trip to Egypt. A step back in time. "Let my people go." But Pharoah's heart was stubborn. New Moses. Shows courage. "Let my people go!" But Pharaoh says "No!" So... Plague after plague. Until a King's son lies dead. Pharaoh said "Go! And please...bless me." Exodus. Slaves set free. But Pharaoh changed his mind. Again. Egyptian army pursued them. Red Sea. Before. Enemies. Behind. Where is God? Are we going to die? Moses' staff. Stabs the sea. "Behold His mighty hand." There will be victory! God's people. In the middle of the waters. Running. Free. On dry land. With a wall of water to the right and left. At God's command. Hurry! Hurry! See Pharoah's army! God where are you? Are we going to die? Israelites. Safe on the other side. Egyptian enemies swallowed up. By the tide. Rejoice! God has set us free! Moses the warrior. Led God's people. Into the wilderness. Of God's Promise. Moses led. A stiff-necked people. And talked with God. Face to face. In a cloud. "Please have mercy on Your people," He prayed. Moses, once a weakling, became a warrior. For God's hand was upon him. Every step of the way. Until his face shone radiant. With God's glory. (edited)

"Biblical texts from all historical periods & in a variety of literary genres demonstrate that in Yahwistic circles, that is,    among people who worshiped Yahweh as the chief god, God was always understood as the one who alone created heaven, earth & all that is in them; Yahweh, the Israelite god, had no rivals, & in a world where nations claimed that their gods were the supreme beings in the universe & that all others were subject to them, the Israelites' claim for the superiority of Yahweh enabled them to imagine that no other nation could rival her. I watch from a distance and cannot believe how their lies powerfully decieve us into hating each other killing one another sometimes I think why even bother but I simply had enough of watching this every day every single time I open the television or a stupid newspaper, so much hatred and stupidity and not suprisingly, no humility. this is a call this is a call to everyone, like you, like me this is a call to tear down the wall smash down the towers and watch them fall this is a call this is our voice no uniform no shows no act just a voice, and one day just like the israelites destroyed the walls of Jericho we will destroy them.

Ark of the Covenant
Moses, Miriam, Aaron and the children of Israel wandered into the wilderness of Zin. The Israelites complained because there was no water, their patience was wearing thin. God told Moses to take the rod, call the people and speak to the rock. God said there would be enough water for the people and their livestock. But instead of speaking to the rock like God commanded, Moses raised his hand and struck it with the rod. Water flowed from the rock but Moses was punished because he became angry and didn't follow the command of God. Because Moses didn't do as God commanded, God wouldn't let him lead the Israelites into the promised land. Moses quickly learned that the best thing to do is to always do as Jehovah God commands.

Moses's Punishment
When the Israelites return to the Golan Heights And ancient blazing comets cross the planet fly The Muslin Empire will rise from the saltwater’s bed Dark and dying will be the flickering stars From black oil oceans, he shall be birthed Nurtured on the hearth of power and coin Disguised in the words of Christianity Weapons from every nation he calls forth Deaths flag shall be the victor in the last war The Muslim Empire will rise From the depths of the Dead sea's floor Blood against blood Man, against man Till on this earth, humans are no more All Rights Reserved. @ Copyright Tammy M. We’ve got a lot in common, we share the same disease. We’re thankful for our belongings, though we fall down to our knees. And the Israelites are coming, they bring their funeral song, a one thousand petalled lotus is burned in the Gaza storm. Oh, I don’t want to hurt you, but you know that love is pain. You find yourself in its absence, just to lose it all again. And still, I’ll come back for more, like some sex-starved, pointless slave. Fixate on you in the darkness, and forget you in the day. And I do not need this devotion, I know not what it is for, I waded through the ocean, just to fall down at your door. I gave myself to religion, I gave myself to war, I fought for all of the peace, that I’d lost on your bedroom floor. And I do not need this devotion, 'cause I know not what it is for, I waded through the ocean, just to fall down at your door. And the soil swallowed me whole, whilst I’ve been searching in the skies, A motion of light in the treetops, a love before the lies. I do not need this emotion, I do not need your pearls, I’m looking for a brand new woman, now I’m tired of spoiled little girls. We’ve got a lot in common, how we tend to impossible dreams. The way we stand up for freedom, the way we fall down to our knees. The way we fall down to our knees.

Fall Down To Our Knees
RELIGION It has so many crimes to answer to Yes crimes against humanity I think back to the holy wars Christian ( what a joke ) against the might of Islam But who had the right to say what was right and what was wrong The Spanish inquisition,  torture and death to non believers Look at the various sects in Islam Where by one it was considered just to shoot a 15 year old girl in the head because she dreamt of being a teacher Isreal, now the bully boys of the middle east ( With American backing ) Historically Israelites where a tribe within Palestine But now Palestine (Gaza) is a state within Israel. A British decision in 1948 Here I see a similarity between Israel and the early Americans Emigrating West And not caring about the tribes and peoples they displace in the doing Greed and religion, the two curses of the world My church is the fields and forests, my god is nature I need no more than that

I'm Sick Of This Sad World
I only caught glimpses of his eyes while he spoke words, lacerating this pneuma and stuffing superlatives in this innermost being. the wisdom I believed I possessed tumbled like Jericho and I could hear the audacious screams of the Israelites like blood torrents in arteries. it’s a shame, I thought. He had a good heart. pomegranate pnumbras flicker like fire behind my eyelids and it burns there, too. can I leave? a smooth muscle ***** pumps blood and serotonin through platelets back into arteries and I hungrily drink this newfound oxygen. and all around the splintered cage I saw orange slice smiles and white yacht clouds drifting through a blue ocean. but a quick slip up pulled me away and the faceless effigy stood pristine with metaphorical eyes, of which I only caught a glimpse.

him
Often we assume we have understood the fullness of God’s profundity When in fact, only a smidgen of His glory is what we see Although the full glory of God is something we cannot fully comprehend, Through His word, little by little He helps us to understand The glory of the Lord is revealed through His inexhaustible provision, This can be seen from how He constantly provided for Israel from its inception God lovingly provides us with many things to meet our physical needs But beyond that, He gives His word to meet the spiritual needs of those who seek The glory of God is revealed through His power and protection, An example is how He went before the Israelites and gave them direction His glory is also revealed through His promises and His presence, If only we would use our senses to see and listen with reverence   God provides us with senses to catch glimpses of His immeasurable glory, From sight to hearing He helps us to behold His glory personally The gift of senses is to be used to recognise God beyond the external appearances, For only when our spiritual senses are awakened can we sense His presence Our challenge is to recognise the presence of God and His glory, To constantly seek and serve the Lord with humility Let us be encouraged to sing, declare and proclaim the glory of the Lord, And strive to be faithful believers and servants of God! Inspiration: Exodus 14:19-20, Exodus 19:16-18, Ezekiel 1:28, Psalm 27:8, 1 Chronicles 16:10-29

The Glory of the Lord
I'm the unholiest of nights I am nocturnal antichrists I am the intifada phantom Blacking out the Israelites I am the netherworld Rohingya   To Gautama's paradise I can indulge in my salvation For a fraction of the price I am the spice of life aboard Malagasy pirate ships I am the pyramids of greed Built atop the cracks of whips I get on nerves of your Nirvana I'm the burning Book of Mormon I'm a hundred years of war And famine, plagues and locusts swarmin' I am 47 ronin   To the Hiroshima priest As they Shinto Harakiri I am rising in the east I am the fracture in the caste Of the Brahmin’s brittle bones I am the wrath of jealous deities On Mount Olympus thrones I'm the cult of personality The Satan's circle level I'm the hammer and the sickle I'm the patron saint of rebel I'm the heathen Eden extremist The radical depiction Of Muhammad's severed head Adorned in crowns of crucifixion I'm the Xenu Voodoo Guru I'm the omniversal cosmic view   The lord of space and time And now my thetan horde awakens you From sins of your mortality I know them all too well You place your faith in heaven But I make mine here in hell

Hymn of the Heretic
*I doubt, I woke up this morning with doubt I doubt I would ever find happiness In a spike smoothie I am being driven more toward; the sea madness I doubt I will ever take that trip to California Or print my name on the wall of Jericho because of the Israelites; I doubt I would ever buy that $3000 Gucci bag Just to empty out my account I doubt I will ever swim in the ocean, again my courage always rises with every attempt to intimidate me. I doubt I will ever walk the lonely street late at night again If a pervert **** his mother, No doubt what he would do to me For him I am a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. I doubt I would ever be able to write a sonnet, because The feeling of frustration comes as a result of my mixed emotional states My parents doubted that I would have never made it this far Because most micro preemie baby never survived I doubt, doubt would never leave my side Through the pain, through the doubt, here I am today the doubtful unknown poet*

I Doubt
To be fair, this superstitious stuff Goes a helluva long way back. It was around the time of Babel That the Israelites lost all track Of logic and reason in the books They were peddling as God’s word. Oh, okay, they were just passing on Mesopotamian stories they heard But then to start calling it all The voice of the spiritual over-mind Means we are expected to be Sort of intellectually deaf and blind. Even if one can accept things like A snake that talks and wheedles I think accepting talking bushes Requires stuff in hypodermic needles. I think you have confused Your Jehovah with Santa. They are not the same thing. Let me hear you say hallelujah! Some of your traditions are Verging on the weird and funny When you peddle stories About an egg-laying bunny. And that basket of fishes To feed a thousand was dumb. In prehistoric Israel, just where Did those freeloaders come from? That strange ‘water into wine’ thing Would be banned by law today. Jesus, as evangelical moonshiner? The authorities would put him away. But that’s all fine and good if One personally deems it to be so, This claiming to run daily life By words memorized long ago. Since some of it makes sense It may be easier to just ignore Things like wizards and magic As something from long before. Evidence today says nobody lived For eight hundred years and such. But things like facts don’t seem To bother religious people that much. So, have at it, you spooky folks With your symbols and mystery Just save your breath if you think You’ll get acceptance from me.

A mid morning spent In the shade Of a pine tree I believe Amongst the company Of scrub jays And ground squirrels I lay on my yoga mat Contented In the presence of Yaweh The Great I AM He is Eternal And so is his love for humankind Man cannot comprehend The Father, God He is perfect In ways we cannot fathom He sent his son to save us Because of our sins Because of our wicked Thoughts and deeds His Son, Jesus took on The sins of the world Then the Father raised him The overcomer Believe in Jesus of Nazareth His love for mankind endures Forever! I read Theology in Exodus According to the author, Gowan; The midwives "feared God" And let the male children live So God rewarded them According to Gowan, These writers tell of a God Who insists, when they Cry out to me, I will surely Hear their cry" Cry out to Him! He will listen, he is merciful Jesus loves you The midwives showed mercy And you should too Show mercy unto others And the Lord Jesus Will show mercy unto you Pronounce with your lips That Jesus is Lord Believe in your heart That God resurrected him Pray for mercy He is righteous, He is pure He is all knowing, He is present everywhere His love endures forever Jesus is Lord Lord of heaven And Lord of earth There is no way to the Father Except through him A difficult time is coming To America You know I was reading About the Israelites today The Lord was with them As they suffered Under the Egyptians The Lord will be with Christians in America As this nation will be judged
