I was thinking of a son. The womb is not a clock nor a bell tolling, but in the eleventh month of its life I feel the November of the body as well as of the calendar. In two days it will be my birthday and as always the earth is done with its harvest. This time I hunt for death, the night I lean toward, the night I want. Well then-- It was in the womb all along. I was thinking of a son ... You! The never acquired, the never seeded or unfastened, you of the genitals I feared, the stalk and the puppy's breath. Will I give you my eyes or his? Will you be the David or the Susan? (Those two names I picked and listened for.) Can you be the man your fathers are-- the leg muscles from Michelangelo, hands from Yugoslavia somewhere the peasant, Slavic and determined, somewhere the survivor bulging with life-- and could it still be possible, all this with Susan's eyes? All this without you-- two days gone in blood. I myself will die without baptism, a third daughter they didn't bother. My death will come on my name day. What's wrong with the name day? It's only an angel of the sun. Woman, weaving a web over your own, a thin and tangled poison. Scorpio, bad spider-- die! My death from the wrists, two name tags, blood worn like a corsage to bloom one on the left and one on the right-- It's a warm room, the place of the blood. Leave the door open on its hinges! Two days for your death and two days until mine. Love! That red disease-- year after year, David, you would make me wild! David! Susan! David! David! full and disheveled, hissing into the night, never growing old, waiting always for you on the porch ... year after year, my carrot, my cabbage, I would have possessed you before all women, calling your name, calling you mine.

Save me. Save me from the place inside of me that Loathes my existence. help, it is pulling me down. Dragging me deeper into to this dark cold place full of everything i hate. like you, and me. i hate You more than anything on the face of this planet, well except for me. i hate me hate me more than a mother hates the murderer of Her own Child. this Calamitous pit inside me like a Rabbit's hole i can Never escape, no matter how i scratch at the sides until my fingers bleed. there is a lot of blood in this place. It's the poison inside of me, the reason why i breathe in short, wispy breaths. It's got to be the answer. i've got to get the poison out. i dig and dig. dig, dig, dig, dig and not once do i cry of pain. i dig and dig. deeper and deeper. the Hot Malicious wine of my pain flows all around me and the world turns grey as my head begins to spin. i hear You. i know how much You hate me. LEAVE ME ALONE GOD ****** the only colour i see now is the deep red of a rose as i clench my hands tighter around the thorns and then Drip. Drip. The sound of my own breath shocks me. i lay at the bottom of the bottomless cistern inside of my soul. the air in my lungs hissing, as i lay there broken. Vulnerable.   in a pool of my own sorrow, thick and dark. You have left me to die. You were the only one i let into this place You pushed me down. You killed me please Someone help before the rasp in my chest completely fades.

The special place inside of me
We wear this city on our feet Planting our roots with each step Our shadows cast shapes of ancient oak trees stretching out over old squares at daybreak We grow here with the spirit of buildings past, present and rising like a staircase to heaven in the distance, the plumes of white smoke from their rooftops as burnt offerings for incense, spires for steeples, the bundled masses of people moving beneath as the calloused soles of our feet pounding the pavement, Our congregation seated in reverant silence on the R-Line hissing to a stop Their hushed prayers filing out from within to bring the reclaimed sidewalks of Fayetville Street back to life to join this pilgramage They march downtown toward Capitol holding signs for disarmament They bar-hop through Glenwood toasting to deliverance They move in a blur of faces that become us, Rush at all hours through our veins Cross our hearts and keep us breathing, Moving wearing the city on our minds like the greyest pieces of their winter sky and the way it caps the peaks of Mount PNC, BB&T and Wells Fargo like hoodies over our heads We assume monk-like appearances in robes color-coded by season- from blue collar sweaters to cold hard sweat We'll wear their city until we're worn out and wet, We'll wear their dreams at night like streetlamps flickering on beneath wired telephone poles carrying conversations about each one as far south as Florida, fears unspoken, made visible on iron park benches too cold to sit on at this hour We'll keep walking and wear this city like backpacks over our shoulders under the watch of their heavens, the skyline a glowing testament of every step taken toward someplace higher.

You look at me and you frown in jealousy. Yeah, you secretly know I have swag. Pants a little low, black and red shirt that says “Sit down and learn from the Master,” and a matching hat that states what you already know- “FRESH” You taste the bitterness of your words as you whisper lies to my back. Yeah, you secretly know I don’t care. Pants a little low, red and yellow shirt that says “My swoosh is bigger than yours” and a matching hat of who you think I resemble- Superman You hear the high pitched hissing that I’m doing well and hope that I fail. Yeah, you secretly know I’ll succeed. Pants a little low, black and blue shirt that says “Just Did It” and a matching hat that reminds you of what you need to do- “OBEY” You touch my strong shaped shoulders with yours and utter no apology. Yeah, you’re secretly freaking out with excitement. Pants a little low, blue and red shirt that says “Don’t Bro Me If You Don’t Know Me” and a matching hat with the best known bickering buddies- Tom and Jerry You smell my confidence in the aroma of chocolate axe and you pinch your nose. Yeah, you’re secretly going to buy it later. Pants a little low, black and white shirt that says “Don’t sweat my swag” and a matching hat that proclaims my feelings for you- “I <3 Haters” and under the brim it says why- “MOTIVATION”

Ode to Haters
In your vision you are the only thing with bloodshot eyes. You always wear a robe that speaks seven languages... and a bank of fog is at your feet nipping at your naked heel. In your vision you remember how your arms feel in sunshine. It is intense. Your can-opener is hissing an etude that alludes to wise men... who bathe in miracles and roam the world, untarnished in Poverty. Your can-opener whispers in hush tones about barbarians at the gate. And they say ' they've come for the Linen ! ' You are not deceived. In your vision you are the only thing that can backward engineer a Universe. On your way back to the homeland of your algebra you hesitate. “ you may have left your keys in your Other Robe...” The Robe that hallucinates constantly~ Carrying on about ' The dire consequences of leaving terrycloth alone with the keys ' and, afflicted with Prophesy Tourettes the piteous tide of doom ' sayeth the robe ' you must suffer. In your vision, you are the only one looking for the keys.

During a walk through the hallway of the primary school I find hallways filled with turkeys and leafs and stiff scrawled characters. What is Mr. Smith's class thankful for? Flowers and toys and cars and dresses and pink and purple and soccer and skirts and barbies and family. How could you sum up all of the things you are thankful for in one word? At the end of the hallway I am faced with a choice: *What are you thankful for?* ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What am I thankful for? Happiness, and family and security and nature and friends. I am thankful for friends. I am thankful for laughs and chatts and cries and sobs and games and smiles. I am thanful for ****** contortions and 80s dance sessions, for inabilty to speak. I am thankful for hobos, eating on the side of the road, and for devious scheymes of intoxicatation. Hep beni anlayan bir arkadaşım var müteşekkirim and who listens to my sob stories. I am thankful for singing in the rain. And styling hair in the sink for screeching and howling and hissing. I am thankful for obkirchergasses, for Ströcks and for ice cream plarlours. I am thankful for mentos, and walnuts. I am thankful for bad lip readings and hilarious youtube vidoes. I am thankful for unknown languages and nymphs and for eloquence. I am thankful for good taste in music and for strong opinions. I am thankful for dancing indian pirates with demon chicks and fireballs. I am thankful for two-headed teenagers and barbeques. I am thankful for God and healthy choice prayers, and Hawaii get aways. I am thankful for huge, hanging sweaters and crazy, funky leggings. I am thankful for deep talks about the world's lack of beauty and for poetry buddies. I am thankful for dodgeball playing mice, and poor old wenches. I am thankful for pirate and mermaid adventures. I am thankful for the looks we get: looks of loud disapproval, and whispers of quiet exasperation. I am thankful for golden men and loud singing, for crazy dances with crazy cousins and cute brothers. I am thankful for Aunt Jemima. I am thankful for banging on metal bars with rocks and shouting at the top of our lungs. I am thankful for climbing over gates in order to not step on cracks. I am thankful for amazing humanities teachers. I am thankful for a laugh when the day is over. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How those kids manage to fit all of their thankfulness into one word is beyond me. Even the one-word things we are thankful for, must be described with a million words.

whish whish is the sound of a suffering the sound of blood as it squirts the most exquisite and horrendous fountain loaded with a despairing call a siren's ring because it stings the depths of the heart to the very end, from the dreadful start whish whish is the sound of suffering the sound of wheels turning because there was an exit before, there always is most often it's more than I'm willing to give whish whish is the sound of suffering it is the sound of those crying there is pleading, wailing, sighing 'fore the fates bring forth dying and there is death in life, thoughts, wisdom, courage it comes with age, but time's the liveliest gift received we are deceived if we think we turn each page whish whish is the sound of a suffering it's the sound of what's missed if we had asked before we mightn't be adorned with the weight the burden, the baggage, the fate the mystery is missing there's hissing in the past those last faulty choices have played with our cast

A Sound of Suffering
An ocean splashed the sky; clouds little boats for angels to reel in stars upon will; their gills glow for human eyes to scope-out and connect the dots, one by one. The moon a forest for the alien gophers; burrowing amongst its craters, feasting on passing comets, and yet; we fail to see. A rainbow, for the giants after their grievances, sprout a smile on mile-long faces, as the days got harder to stay sunny. Drear for the shadows, the little rats of the night, hissing at morn and hurting, shrinking as golden lasers black-

Rebel Against Rebellion I have nothing to prove No creeds, no doctrine to upkeep We all have so much freedom when we close our eyes And just think Maybe you need to humble yourself enough To lose Rebel Against Rebellion Because they're all just books Your sword is looking pretty dull sir Why are you so inclined to hurt? Thought your prophet preached LOVE? So repeat words Choose what you choose Choose wisely Because soon the snake will stop his hissing Constrict And become your noose Rebel Against Rebellion I think I'll call your bluff I bleed, I sin, I'll die But I'm not feeling hot standing here So tell me again why I should be afraid Of my fleet mortal life? Rebel Against Rebellion Because a Sheppard leads a flock But you never followed Your a goat Caught in your lies Bureaucracy, Democracy Man it's all a joke A silly excuse Rules, the sacrum of man's brain Your doctrine is becoming lame And your beliefs more insane Coliseum A game to play to make you so entertained Please write another rule Prove once again The medium you choose is jewels You fool Rebel Against Rebellion Why would I cut my brother short? Because of appearance and all your silly rules So many when uttered I choke For all we know life itself a joke Oh the irony What began as unity Became bowing down To man's hierarchy So I Rebel Against Rebellion I'm a servant of no man I know God has a plan That over cries your silly fear Unravels your vines Your words Agenda and "Time"

Rebel Against Rebellion
Thin, white wrists. Bone white Like china And just as brittle. They make that coarse, scraping sound when they touch one another. The kind of sound that delicate, expensive teacups make when stacked The wrong way. It makes me cringe. Little blue veins kiss the surface of them, Hissing and sizzling when the air gets Too close Like tiny snakes. These wrists Have made promises. They have Borne loads. These wrists have snapped like twigs Under the weight of a heavy, Punishing love. But, pressed back together the way they'd been, They hardened oncemore Like stone And the cracks and fissures Sank inside again And smooth, unmarred, delicate white skin emerged To begin the process over. At night the snakes whisper and murmur against my cheek in their sleep And sometimes, quite suddenly, They sink in their fangs And I awaken with a start, A sharp pain radiating out to my fingertips Like a shock. Last night I felt their strikes by the hour One, Two, Three, more. And this morning a strange... fullness Began in my wrists And seeped out Up along my arms Through my collarbones and down Into my heart. Perhaps it was the venom Working But where it spread I Settled Like an old stone wall. Like the halls of a castle That has seen too much death And too many kings. I sank into myself For the first time And the ground felt heavily solid And I felt Only the hollow hiss Of little blue and green serpents Dreaming inside me And that Was something like certainty, Although of what I still don't Know.

The last kiss from you Lasted like a huddle in The snow blitz Rocking my anatomy In the frosty glitz The last words from you That barged in my eardrum You were in a hurry To smell a new leaf Draped in a diamond dew The last gifts from you Was an instrument Which still I use To recognize people Or to refuse! The last time You said I love you I remember I was laughing Hysterically as if I was watching Jared Leto’s jaded mimicry of Joker in YouTube Intriguingly, when the last time I saw you **** It felt like pretty Ivanka’s embarrassment Noticing her dad is a lewd The last time I was chatting With you on Facebook I was wondering why I shouldn't hack your account? To check your inbox Yea, it was filled with the message of ******* F- Bombs, **** shaming and tagging you as harlot All they were asking was your service of escort Either in full discount or in hefty cash drops! The last time I wrote A letter of love to you I discovered my Keyboard Began to blurt out No more, No more, No more… The last time I had a chit-chat With you in the Burger King or Pizza Hut I listened to your hissing clack-clack That someone else has become your puppy cat… The last time I became sick When I was with you I heard you threw a party Where you were whispering To your besties, how I become your double whammy! The last time I was With you in the bed I felt like I was indentured To **** a dummy toy Sans spirit and flesh! Loving you was like Santa Claus gifted me With a Pandora’s Box As soon as I opened it You decided to release Our *** tape of your having ****** In pornhub’s forum of interracial! The last time I heard of you Is that you were giving an interview To The Cosmopolitan’s board of review Facing the barrage of inquisitions You calmly joked, the series Of latest uproar about you In the social media or Internet Is because certain people always Love to rave about Women’s body Shoving in and out of their pigeonhole With their one night stand queen trophy To flavor your form in their fantasmic mouth You also smirked in a raspy voice Defiantly declaring “we (women) Have been locked indoors With no air, no food, no water” My last boyfriend is also no exception He certainly thinks I came this far Through ******* and deception

Inventor Sam invented a life Full of bright and sunny days With clouds in the sky, peacefully passing on by, And beautiful birds singing in all sorts of nice ways. Inventor Sam, with a wave of his little right hand, Invented mountains that reached up towards the stars And with a wave and a flick, in an instant, quite quick, He made rivers and valleys stretched out afar. Inventor Sam, what a grand little man, Invented some animals too He called them Zebras, Giraffes, and Orangutans Even people like me and like you Inventor Sam then sat back to enjoy all that he made But he noticed that something was missing Not apples, nor reindeer, nor trees and their cool shade Not eagles, nor bananas, nor snakes and their hissing Inventor Sam looked closely at the animals that stuck out Those on two legs, with little hair and one tiny snout, They walked aimlessly around with no purpose at all Stiff legged and hollow like fragile china dolls Inventor Sam then sat up with a smile on his face For he knew what would be his very last application With a wave of both arms, and lightning for effect He made people Inventors with their very own imagination. -BPW  12/27/2013

¤¤¤ I've had dreams by day That brought the nightmares back. In the daylights exposure it was dark   When the negative light was bright. In the sea of people I was the floating remains Of a Great White's meal.  On the lonely roads of thought My mind was in gridlock. Comforting memories were suspended Over a psychic black hole By jagged and rusted Medieval-type surgical tools. My remaining senses Were nailed to a cross-section Of psychically atrophied grey matter Along neural pathways Guarded by gladiator-type tormentors. Left with nothing But the stinging desire to be freed From a curse that had to be cured And the hell of searching for a cure When I was convinced there wasn’t one. The powers that be come with force To quell primal lusts & desires Forbidding you of them As they seductively Dangle them before your eyes    Until you are so frustrated and unfulfilled That you no longer Care for your world.   This cracked glass remains empty Even though it is constantly being filled Then spilled or leaked on the floor Until you learn to lap it up Like the lapdog that you have become For their amusement. You remain with a love for freedom   But your cage is so large  That you think you are free Lost in societal fantasy. You think for a while That these fantasies are real    Until you come to your senses that aren’t As you join other fools In comfort that you're not the only Broken-back pack-mule.  But in spite of it all And in the face of them all Don't let these birds of prey                                                           And powers that be Deprive you of what they cannot see In that hidden corner Of what is still untouched-- The real you Uninfected by the world.   Take care of your spiritual affairs. Don't let the global beast And your primal hissing forces Make you be your own pallbearer.

There's an awkward thrill I feel like wicked-wet rabies – Oh. Ah. Oh. To gaze over photos of the woman I created. With my warped perception, saturating and cropping everything into delicious oblivion. I am the knife as well as the ingredients that sauteed her together in a camera flash. She sits hot like heaven. And I want to stare at her picture all day until she comes to life. The woman I created, I hang up like perfected rotisserie and fall in love with her accidentally every day. Looking into those precisely underlined tiger-sex eyes of startling navy. Knowing their true dullness. Hissing at the free-swinging curls and the hours behind them. Loving the lie. The flowy top and sleek trousers gliding down lovely as Niagara over chaffing chub; all hidden. And thighs; unshaven. And that topical smile everyone likes to see, waiting to plummet into suicide like a kite hanging in one tight second. Her image is my greatest False accomplishment. I hang my portrait up on a wall of the internet for people of the world to migrate to the photo exhibit, my little show-off room. They make offers and toss compliments with their “I like this. I like this." nonsense. They don't know that the girl in the portrait, she isn't organic. They seem not to notice that she is something of a chemical flower. Her face is my face, only with whiteout poison-paste smoothed over twice. And they want to stare at her picture all day until she comes to life. Gazing upon her believed-to-be beauty, as I hang my paintbrush, she bites her body still as a painting, bruised and needled into perfect frame. She cries like Jesus Christ, as she is stared at, but not seen. I am the artist as well as the object. And the woman in the portrait is nothing, but dot after dot of manipulated color. And we want to stare at her picture all day until she comes to life.

School days in winter Were such fun Without a care, When we were young. At recess we'd slide On ice, Build our forts, Duck and fight. The firemen Beneath starlight, Would flood our schoolyard, Whet appetites For hockey games Between senior classes; We'd skate and shoot, Fall on our ***** Such joy and fun, And no one lost. The bell would sound, Then we'd toss Our wet socks On school room Rads. His and hers Like banners waving, Drying, hissing, Choking, aging. Impatiently we'd sit and wait, Do our math And conjugate; The clock's hands, Frozen, Watched from The wall, At last the lunchtime Bell would ring, And we'd get bundled Once again. Before heading home We're enticed To slide once more On hard, grey ice.

Winter School Days
The music may have died for some That day in nineteen fifty nine Don McLean said that it ended But I say, it's just fine The day that Buddy died I feel it only took a wound and though it has been 60 years I think it's been re-tuned If silence reigned when the music died The Beatles would be missing They picked their  name for Buddy's group An act that had some hissing The Rolling Stones...would never play If the music died as told There would be no Exile on Main Street There would be no band so bold The Hollies, well that's simple They were named after the man If the music had really died that day Would Graham Nash still be a fan? To me it took a major wound A shot that slowed it down It changed music's direction Took it to another town With Elvis silent on German soil The Beatles took the lead They made sure music was living And many others did they breed Bobby Darin, Mama Cass Jimi Hendrix and The Pearl Jim Morrison and Brian Jones Made the music spin and twirl When Elvis Died, it slowed a bit With Lennon shot...some more But, the music never, ever died For those who're keeping score For each one lost...another comes To fill the void with sound It may have been quite wounded But the music's still around Each generation keeps it In it's own and special way That's why Buddy's music Is still played on air today So, please don't think the music Died way back in fifty nine Just look at all who've come on since All your favorites and all mine.

The Music Never Died
Well, she looks like a witch, Her pointed nose does twitch. As she frowns upon the grocery list, Then scrunches in a timely twist. Bidding her straw broom, Which she doth groom. Hovers away into the gloom, Over a pond she doth loom. To frogs, rats, snakes and slime, Quoth she, "All in good time!!" Soon they'll be no room, For the impending doom. Her cauldron happily hissing, As she adds to the seething, Her black cat begins meowing, After the rats, he begins running. Slowly cooling the putrid portion, She applies the lovely lotion. The moles, warts and silver hair, Disappear into thin air. Her velvet apparel now lace, Not a blemish does one trace. Fondling her silky Siamese, She heads home with ease. To the little candy castle, Awaiting Hansel and Gretel.

The GW*
Have you ever felt... That feeling? Where you're so empty you can actually fall inside the void which consumes you, When you're so broken that whenever someone touches you they pull back hissing, When you are so lonely you call out to the birds which paint the sky-in hope that they will sit on you shoulder, Have you ever felt it? That feeling? That horrible slimy whisper wordlessly chanting "You are useless" Well I have. And it is crap. But one day you'll wake up and a small drop will fall Into that void **Day by day Night by night Hour by hour Second by second** And it may not seem like much But it amounts to a lot in the end Until that feeling you feel Is nothing more Than subtle laughter Coming from you.

Feeling
A NEW GAME OF BLOCKS AND MINING, I STAND ON A SHORE OF SAND. I LIKE IT; IT DOESN'T GET IN MY SQAURE FEET. I LOOK THROUGH PIXAL EYES AROUND AT MY SURROUNDINGS; THERE'S AN OCEAN OF UNMOVING BLUE, A MOUNTAIN OF STONE AND CAVES BEYOND A FOREST OF BUMPY GREEN. I THEN TURN AND THEN, I SMACK A TREE WITH MY SQUARE HAND. I EXPECT PAIN BUT THERE IS NONE AND THE RESULT IS A TINY BLOCK OF DARK WOOD FLOATING A GAP IN THE TREE IT ONCE FILLED. I STEP FORWARD TO COLLECT IT, BUT IT FLIES TOWARD ME AND INTO ME; I WILL IT TO APPEAR IN MY HAND AND IT DOES. MY EYES GROW BIGGER AND MY BLOCKY SMILE GROWS BIGGER THAN THE PIXELS THAT MAKE UP MY FACE. I RUN AROUND, COLLECTING WOOD AND LAUGHING WITH A CRAZED FACE. AS I CATCH MY BREATH, I NOTICE IT'D GETTING DARK AND I TURN TO SEE A HORRIBLE FACE OF GREEN AND I HEAR A HISSING NOISE. I CAN ONLY CRY OUT AS THE THING EXPLODES, WITH A SICKING EXPLOSION AND A LOOK ON MY CUBE HEAD THAT SAYS “F*** YOU, CREEPER!”

GETTING WOOD: A Minecraft Poem
High above dear Maple Street There looms a cold iron curtain of fear That dares to drop and let all the monsters Unleash their dreaded promise of chaos As in Europe despots gift a new World War Trembling parlors hug the radio Hallows Eve: the radio Begins to sing throughout dear Maple Street The Seventh Trumpet declares all out war And that heavy iron curtain of fear Eclipses the sun and invites chaos In vacant hearts of men into monsters Halloween Night: the monsters Now dance to the tune of the radio Raiding the stores, jumping bridges, chaos Entombing the stretch of this blood strewn street Parlors gorging on endless waves of fear Riding hysteria, imminent war O great catalyst of war Twisting the minds of men into monsters Diving your hands in that great pit of fear Now throbbing with screams from the radio No fences nor faces can save Maple Street Now plunged in the throes of sweet sultry Chaos And we call it Chaos This boiling of minds all stewing with war Once masked with humanity on this street Now reveals good neighbors make great monsters Skies of martians (n)or men, the radio Hissing, twists the knobs and tunes in to fear And when that curtain of fear Draws, and shadeless light casts on the chaos And the broadcast fades on the radio And mere fiction rescinds the throne of war What will we make of all of these monsters Scattered about in a daze through the street Where there are minds of fear and war, Chaos reigns and calls to the sleeping monsters; Tune in to Welles’s radio on Sterling’s street.

an old and young latinas starting morning.
Walking this trail, all is strange I am still round, remembering the rain this desert with its saguaro looking people, my friends snakes and the hissing heat of day, now crawl away into the melting sea sky of orange, red into the indigo rising, turning black no sound of cities, no world out there to cry only the calling of stars, musical notes songs twinkling in time with the hot honey yellow moon.

Crying for Odin
I want to write something deep and poetic About the fireworks I saw. But all I can come up with Is the physical attributes— The seeing that I did, The hearing that I did, The feeling that I did, The experiencing that I did. Red comets shot upward In a slight arcing path To explode in brilliant light And rain down upon the spectators. There’s a hush of anticipation in the audience Between the moment they notice The curling smoke trail, The breathtaking visual display, And the slightly delayed KERPOW As the firework’s sound Finally makes its way through the air. Each exploding fragment Fizzles through the air with a quiet hissing, Competing with the screeching Of the next firework going up. It’s almost kind of sad: Each firework aims for the sky, Reaches as high as it can go, Leaving behind bits of itself as it does so, But hits some invisible ceiling— Some fireworks’ ceilings Are higher than others— And that is their maximum. They can take no more, They cannot reach the sky, They cannot reach the stars, They cannot reach their brethren, And so they explode in their sadness or anger; But in doing so, They light the way for others.
