drowning in caffeine breathing the nicotine my blood cant circulate - your love will stimulate. the ****** of death in **** will simulate your touch , my need as we spiral in to sin separation , depression , paranoia anxiety - the absence of my sleep aggression , desperation toxicity - of a drama we are in discoloration - i can't control the spin screams - muted by bitter pills our dreams - induced by the  acid capsuled lives - longing self destruction your embrace - disconnection release me from what is real obsession - for what we cannot fix frustration - for what we can't control memories - of what we used to be delusions - of what we could have been isolation - thoughts of being free now voices dictate what i should feel digging through my skin - opening the wounds put your fingers in remembering the days when we held an illusion no drugs could replicate i can't forget. exchanging promises of never letting go was it all in my head? i can't escape the hole. i walk the road alone.

Feminism is not a bad word It is more than four words If you are a woman if you are a man If you believe that gender equality Is important, if you stand by your mother When she shouts, “I am equal!” Then you are a feminist. And I’m tired, I’m tired and I’m frustrated That the patriarchal society we live in Would rather demonize equality Rather than let it stand tall as the statue It deserves to be. All it means Is you believe that women and men are equal That they deserve to be treated both fairly and just And I trust- That the only image of a feminist in your mind Is one that hates men, that burns bras, that simply get in the way. And sure there might be a few of those, yes But I would like to ask you Since when did one represent the whole? Since when were all white Christian men Devalued, dehumanized because of Jeffery Dahmer? If I were to follow your logic If we were all to follow your logic We’d have to lock up every single one of you All because a few of your fellow men Perverted an ideal that at the heart of it was good And please be good To your feminists please know that it is not a movement To strip people of rights but to grant rights to those who have been denied Feminism isn’t a bad word It’s a word that holds an ideal That genetics that genitalia do not dictate Whether or not a human being is held to the American standard of equality.

Be kind to yourself. You have come so far. Each emotion you feel tattooed to your skin the seasons wash away like chalk. Be kind to yourself. You are braver than you thought. No longer scared of what lies beneath your bed but what awaits when you wake up. Be kind to yourself. You are worthy of love. Only you give permission for forked tongues to leave passing words as lasting scars. Only you can adopt old failures and stack them as obstacles upon each new path. You cannot dictate what will be only – who you are. Be kind to yourself. You are doing enough. You cannot always be switched on. Sometimes you have to lay down and breathe – it is not greed. If you are always exhausted you cannot help anybody. Be kind to yourself. You did not grow from a single cell born from a dying star in order to feel so small. You did not close the door on friends when you expected more from them. Why beat yourself up for who you were before? Be kind to yourself. A faltering dancer who gets up again and again draws the loudest applause at the curtain call. A person who spent half their life at war with themselves knows the value of peace, the feat of getting out the house; the measure of good mental health. Be kind to yourself. You have come so far. They say ten thousand hours is the time it takes to master an art. You spent so much longer than that learning the patterns of your heart. You can pull at those common threads that keep you together even when you are falling apart. Be kind to yourself. You are stronger than you thought. Like Leonard says, “there’s a crack of light in everything. “ You do not have to be perfect. You do not have to live in the dark. Be kind to yourself. Make sure you get to the end. Do not worry how you stumbled at the start.

*A coarse, yellow coat with dark spot aplenty Lean as a greyhound with limb long and lengthy, Faster than hare from a cold standing start Impossibly glimpsed in tall grasses that part. Crystaline jewels in two huge hazel eyes With the svelt of a feline’s cold killing surprise, Explosively quick with an elegant gait And a murderous jaw full of canines that wait For a fleeing gazelle or a springbok at speed Then a launch that would emulate bullet, when freed. Incredibly smooth with a fast loping stride That would tax any racehorse an envious ride, Snapping manouvers to left and to right That mirror a quarry’s evasions of flight. A blur in a frantic explosion of dust Then the life blood erupts, splashing red as the rust. Heaving great flanks after thrill of the chase Wide open muzzle and gore on the face, Guarding the game till the kittens locate Then the spoils of the chase will make portions dictate.* Marshalg Serengetti Plain Central Africa 30 November 2012

Only you can translate where you are on your voyage through this varied farce called “life”. No one else can dictate to you… or should even dare… how to phrase your feelings, your thoughts, your personal moments. Who is anyone to cause another to feel inept or inferior for wording their experiences as they will? We are all both audience and poet, consumed by the powerful spell of words and meaning we are bonded in ink. It takes gumption and courage to give voice to your vision of the world. It often requires resilience and nerve to open your heart and peel back the layers of skin, and let others take a long look at the inner workings of YOU. Be brave, take courage, let your soul speak in its very own language. People will read your words and listen to the sweet whispers and thunderous shouts that flow from pens and keys to release the inner demons and angels and the lyrical vines that bloom and live in our individual landscapes, fluidly coursing from our own rabbit holes with fortitude and grace and our neverlands, where we need never grow up, to share with those that need to see and hear and feel and wonder. -by Mercurychyld Copyrights

~ YOUR POETRY MATTERS ~
The punitive silences, the bad atmosphere they generate, the mind-games they use to try to **** you in are telltale signs of the toxic person. It could be your in-laws, a parent, coworker, your boss or spouse, a sibling, a roommate, boyfriend or girlfriend, someone you want out of the house. Toxic people want to make you miserable. Especially if you're a decent sort, they hone in on you like a heat-seeking missile. They spew their negativity and blame it on you. They lie constantly, or twist the facts to suit their changing needs of the moment and they never apologize (so don't expect an apology, ever). With a toxic person there is no reciprocity. They sprinkle their toxic dust on you. It makes them feel better. Their ulterior goal is to demean you, to make you feel smaller. They project their worst tendencies onto you, find fault with you for traits you don't possess--- a shadow of the **** that lurks inside them. They try to dictate the emotional atmosphere through their attitude or twisted mood. They drain you of your energy, bring you down, They'll always find a reason why your good news isn't great news. Their agenda is to cut you down to their size, to manipulate and control to **** you over while they play the injured party. Confront the bully. Speak up to the manipulator, the trickster, the backstabber. but beyond a certain point there is no point in arguing with them. Don't try to change the toxic person. You can't. You'd have better luck changing an orangutan into **** sapiens. Only a shrink could change them, and then only if they hit rock-bottom. Don't try to justify yourself. It's a waste of time which would only draw you deeper into their net. Set boundaries to keep their negativity in check. Stop trying to please them. Let that toxic somebody in your life know you're onto them and they can't get away with it anymore. Don't fall into their trap, don't get caught up in their life-dramas or try to get them out of trouble. Don't let them instill guilt in you. But try not to take their toxicity personally. Remember, it's them, not you. You are not to blame though they desperately want you to feel you've done something wrong. If necessary (and if possible), delete the toxic person from your life and move on. Know when enough is enough. Saying good riddance doesn't necessarily mean you hate them, it means your own well-being comes first. Immunize yourself. Preserve your inner strength. Set your own rules. And, when possible, just walk away.

~ Self Hate ~
I know that I will never marry Jimmy Fallon or Donald Glover or Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I know that despite the myths, Brussels sprouts taste awesome. I know that one too many tequila shots will automatically turn you into a philosopher. I know that the sun sets in the East and rises in the West (or is it the other way around?) I know that I am most happiest when I'm surrounded by amazing friends in the unseasonably warm March sun and a banjo is playing. I know that a smile straightens everything out. I know that although you can't forget the past, you can't let it dictate your future. I know that having *** for the first time is weird, and so is **** I know that my hair is golden, my eyes are blue and I will never be stick-thin as hard as I try. I know that there are 24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week and 12 months in a year. But it never seems to be enough time to figure out who you are. I know that people come and go but those that love and care for you will stay glued next to you no matter what. I know that as much as it hurts, you will get over love. I know that I will never have the courage to rap publicly. I know that Kim Kardashian's *** is most likely not real. I know that travel truly broadens the mind. I know that I'm insecure and over analytical and anxious and easily frustrated. But I know that I'm also passionate and determined and a hopeless romantic and a picky eater and a restless sleeper. And above all: I know that when I look at you I see past your eyes. I know that when you're around I smile wider and laugh louder and flip my hair more often. I know I dress nicer to remind you how beautiful you think I am. I know that I forget to inhale and that the butterfly on my shoulder has to fly up to my ear and remind me to breathe. I know that I care about you more than anyone. I know that I let you into every pore of my body, every opening: my heart, my head, my... I know that I am willing to jump in with my whole body and risk being drenched in water for you. I know that I can make you as happy as you make me But I know that you're scared and vulnerable and hurt But if I'm sure of anything (and mind you, I'm not sure of much) I know that I will hurt and be afraid and breathe with you to make you love me.

Infatuation; when you focus, idolise and fixate upon the one reason it will work-- ignoring the million others that dictate otherwise It is unreasonable logic screams; reason shatters yet so heartbreakingly human

Infatuation
A strange kind of people whose hegemonic ways dictate and justify them to exhort their rituals upon outsiders and breathe fire on those who refuse. They have people called Slareneg whose job it is to decide the fate of the outsiders. They claim to be receptive of foreign rites but are known to somehow be able to coerce others into blindly discerning matters their way. They even have a history of confining their own, the ones they care not for at least, to do their bidding for them even though they are of akin heritage. These people also defecate in the same place where they consume meals. They are backwards.

You just can't compete with **** Me boots. The leather-clad calves that whisper "come to bed... I promise so many touches" Cardigans merely dictate "shoulders maybe... You  so much as peek at my collarbones, and you're done for, Mister." Spoken - Maybe I would tease... "Try only, to kiss my cheek because I'm on the boring bus" (and especially in your Chamber) Or so you would suppose. But inside this sweater, I'm a Butterfly.

Dear Me, I love you and I know I haven't been fair to us For most of our life really I tend to let others lead me Sway my desires And otherwise dictate my life I think I'm afraid to admit that I'm real That I'm alive and a person Due to our ****** up past But that's not an excuse anymore There are good things in life now Top surgery in November Our job has picked back up again And we're experiencing grad school I understand that life is scary and That nothing seems good for long But we can move towards happiness Choose to see the good in things Stop complaining and Focusing on the bad things in life We can grow together Find ourselves And finally find the best way to be happy OUR best way We got this I love you -Carter

A Letter to Myself
Venti, I admire, I wish I was like you who soars through the sky. Free like the bird you are, Unburdened by worries, just like stars dancing at night. venti sits. Up in his statue, He admires the city, that he built. Venti, my sweet, How lovely is it for us to meet, Your green hair, your glowing locks, Please comfort my soul, so my heart will be unlocked. Your voice, your longing stare, I love that you're always waiting there. Your dreams, your goals, I love that you'd rather be free, like the god of wind! You fly happily. Venti, my sweet, stop drinking wine, you're higher than a grape vine. Venti, my sweet, You prevent me from getting enough sleep. my thoughts wander, to your fantasy world I wish to discover. Your calming presence speaks, volumes of comfort, You never fail to bring me relief. May you sleep well. I'll be back for tomorrow before you say farewell. I love your antics, I love your voice. I love that you play with me, I love that you bring me joy. Venti, my sweet, Come have a picnic with me! At Windrise, for an afternoon tea. There's cake, there's biscuits, a lovely day, for you and me. A picnic, with me! I'm sorry, I didn't get you alcohol, I worry about your alcohol capacity. It rains. You once asked me to come out and play, over puddles, in patches of green grass, mist and hay, What a lovely way to spend the day. venti, your beauty is like no other, as pretty as the stars under glistening skies, its no wonder. I fell for your grace, I fell for your personality, how your smile brightens up my day entirely. slander your name, they do, but I shall savor my time spent with you. right or wrong, they dictate, but I shall pay them no mind, as always, my playmate. you live in my mind, however you like. as long as you're happy, I feel peace, basking in the moonlight.

This is the last thing I'll ever write about you, as it's just time to let you go. I wish I could have known you in another life. Where you never hurt the people that love you the most. I wish I could have known you in another life, where you didn't allow your own inner turmoil and pain dictate and rule your life. I wish I'd known you in another life. A life where, when you were, incapable of loving yourself. You'd let me shower you with my love instead. A place where my love would have been enough. I wish I had known you in another life. Where you really loved me as your wife. A place where I would have been able to tell you, You were simply it for me. And if I had known you in another life, My heaven would be to spend the Rest of my days, Loving you, giving you, what you think you don't deserve.

a silent metronome, we know exactly when, when sleep pleads us enter, and when it bids us adieu, when we growls for sustenance, or begs for plenty of the mercy of emptiness to cleanse our void, when to compose, when to repose, when to dispose, and when tempos dictate lay down child, fallow! *but its greater feat, when sounds the bells of alarm, when need is greatest, for arms embraces, wet lips to refresh, bodies to synapse, eyes require delight, when needs be greatest, for that very first infant step to what can only be ever felt, but is otherwise undefinable,* for another +to make us complete, a unity, an, us+

America, the land of lies America, the land of homophobia, America, the land of endless sin, America, the land where church and state are not separate, America, the land where we let a 3000 year old book dictate our laws and policies, America, the land where a man who can throw a football well makes 50 times more than a man who saves lives on a daily basis, America, the land of diabetes, heart failure, obesity, and McDonald's, America, the land where we debate whether healthcare is a right or a privilege, America, the land where company profits are more important than the well being of the human race, America, the land where we spend twice as much on healthcare than other country, America, the land where our overall health rating is 26th compared to other countries, America, the land where we claim all men are created equal, America, the land where a man can't marry another man, America, the land that promotes democracy by invading countries and forcing democracy on the people, America, the land where our education system is suffering constant budget cuts, America, the land of debt, America, the land of problems.

We hear so often about our rights. But what rights we have is a priviledge, governed by laws. We the people makes the rules. We the people controls the rules. And sometimes goes to the extreme to keep them too. What's right for one? Isn't totally right for society. Those that feels brave with a gun. Sprout about constitutional rights. And intimidate others by fear. A sign of times, we will never learn. For, as guns can protect you. We aware constantly, they can **** you. And your constitutional rights share the blame. When guidance of common sense isn't used. We let fee based groups dictate the rules. And, they share a percentage of the blame. We hear guns don't **** That people do. Which is complete true. When they use their consitutional rights to do it. All because, we live by the rights to bare arms. Which is a priviledge. Many people fails to see.

So I'm a little down. So I'm not like everyone else. So I'm battling something people don't know much about. So I'm different. So I'm "dysfunctional". So I'm not from a traditional background. So what? Does that mean, I shouldn't be allowed to attend my college? The one thing keeping me going? That I should be locked up in the loony bin? All because my brain has become numb to some pain? I've found function in my alleged dysfunction, some traditions occasionally get broken. Exceptions to the rules are made. The world is full of suffering, but it is also full of overcoming it. So where do you get off, telling me how to deal with something you've only read about in your guidance text books? Where five minutes into meeting me, that you feel the ability to dictate how I should go about my life? I've lived 20 years on this Earth without your input, sure, it hasn't been perfect, but I've made the unconventional work. I mean, ask anybody that actually knows me, if they would ever consider me "conventional". So don't sit there, and hide behind words like "I just want what's best for you", "I care about you", "I'm concerned", "Its your choice to go, but if you don't: the police will forcibly escort you, or you'll not be allowed to be in our college community." Scoffing at the word community, because whenever someone tries to use that word, usually it is about discluding people, rather than including them. "So, either be discluded now, by your 'choice', or by us making you. All the while, literally 12 hours previous, we had zero idea what was going on, or even who you were. " Seems like you really do have "my best interests at heart", huh?

Moonrise
Five minute street artists and insomnia mongers. ****** drunk blondes and finger snapping phat booties. Street geniuses bred by Machiavellian philosophies cypher dreams over tokes of marijuana smoke. Color worshipping narcotic traffickers,   and bread winners parole corners sporting fitted caps and twisting fingers. Senile war veterans beg for change in cardboard boxes from the American dreams they afforded. Hard workers with every ethnicity molded into each pore of their face, rub shoulders with tourists at traffic stops barely escaping tires crushing their feet. Sartorial geniuses with no pants switch hips in knock-off stellos heels, selling the origin of the world on avenues next to Arab Halal food. Cooperate ties and blue collars chafe ***** on subways. nodding in and out of Daily News articles   while oxygen blessed by asparagus **** pump through their noses. Summa *** laude number runners dictate economies From sky-crapper offices, And powered rain swallows their concrete each winter, With no apologies.

New York.
At the swinging of a pendulum The seconds pass one, by, one. Like beats of the drum The spinning of the hands which dictate time But it ends, The weight hits the bottom, the pendulum stops swinging The drum falls silent With its energy all spent, it stops. Without the will to continue, It is allowed to die, and silence takes over. As time is allowed to stop.

The old man
Human way to just dictate Robotics way to translate Technology being a relay No physical office workers to be there Robotics will be the new twist This is something no one will miss Efficiency faster than human labor Dictation will be more of a snap There will be even time to research a destination map Business letters electronically typed by using your voice How the business letters are arranged being your choice Imagine financial statements being precise to the T Everything ready for presentation for all to see Human speed won’t be needed anymore Labor physical employees will be given the open door Office automation being office technology of tomorrow But to the human employee force meaning sorrow Technology being on the move Efficiency in precise and decisions in never have to think twice.

ELECTRONIC ROBOTICS ON THE OFFICE FLOOR
There are boys that cry, There are girls who have dry eyes. There are boys that dance or play volleyball, There are girls that wrestle or play football. There are boys who drive VW Bugs, There are girls that drive trucks. There are boys that bake, There are girls that shred. There are boys that like the Notebook, There are girls that like Transformers. There are boys that are romantics at heart, looking for love, There are girls that aren't into flowers or love songs. There are boys with hair to their knees, There are girls with shaved heads. There are boys with diaries and journals full of memories, There are girls who have no desire to write down all the details. There are boys with names like Aubry, There are girls with names like Sam. There are boys with insecurities about their bodies, There are girls who don't weigh themselves ever. There are boys with eating disorders, There are girls who work out for the ideal 6 pack. There are boys that prep endlessly for a date, There are girls who take 5 minutes to get out the door. There are tidy, neat boys, There are messy, whirlwind girls. There are boys in dresses, There are girls in baggy jeans and a pullover. There are boys who shop endlessly, There are girls who can't stand the mall. There are boys that talk about their emotions, There are girls who would rather not. There are boys that look after the kids, There are girls that work full-time. There are boys who are nurses, There are girls who are engineers. There are boys who cook, There are girls that change the oil in the car. There are boys who are complacent and subordinate, There are girls who are dominant and overpowering. There are boys with no desire to get it in on the first date, And there are some girls who wouldn't mind if they do. And those are all okay. Gender stereotyping only limits what you can and can't do. Let the boys cry and write poetry and eat chocolate when they're sad and talk about their feelings. Let the girls be aggressive and wrestle their buddies and play ball and drive sports cars. Let people do as they please. You're born as you a are, you can't decide what gender you are. You can decide what you do with your gender though, or rather what it won't keep you from doing. Your gender is only an aspect of who you are, don't let it dictate your actions to appease a society that has deemed what is and is not okay for you to do simply because you're either a guy or girl. There are boys and girls that can grow up to be what they please, do as they wish and speak as they will. Don't be the one to tell them otherwise.
