"cherish" poems
I would have taken the easy path But that would leave no room for glory I would have picked out a comfortable life But that isn't God’s kind of story I would have followed a prettier road But missed the most beautiful way I would have clung to familiar things But lived out my days in the grey I would have chosen what’s stable But grown cold, apathetic and bored I would have sought out earth’s riches But lost all that in heaven is stored I would have liked more successes But not learned so quickly of grace I would have seen myself praised more But given up knowing God’s face I would have tied all my loose ends But not known it’s He Who brings peace I would have wanted for happier times But traded a joy that can’t cease I would have opted for normal But not tasted rare delicacies I would have preferred a man’s love But been robbed of Divine intimacy He’s chosen for me the high road More jagged, more narrow and steep So now I must travel this difficult way Ever knowing it leads to the deep Now I must choose to cherish His path And trust Him to walk with me there Now I must hasten to take up my cross The fellowship of His sufferings to share For one day this life will be over And all my afflictions will end It is then I will see what all this is for In my Bridegroom, my Savior, my Friend

The Life Chosen for Me
People eventually leave Previously, I used to grieve Wonder how people just Enter and exist Like they never cherish The time we spent Together Now I realize It's the way of life The moment that comes and goes And nothing stays the same

Leaving
He doesn't burn photographs He doesn't join therapy sessions He doesn't smoke too many cigarettes Nor he drown himself into alcohol He scratches his wounds daily And never let them heal He doesn't try to get rid of the pain Instead he let it grow on him He waters the seed of sorrow with his tears He feeds it with the manure of old memories He takes it to sleep with him And nurtures it in himself Till the moment when every single drop of his blood gets replaced by this pain Until his fragile heart can bear no more And his soul starts overflowing with emotions That's when he dip his pen into this pain And empty his heart on a piece of paper He bares his soul for us to feel He creates poetry that the world would cherish for centuries to come

When the heart of a poet gets broken
A friend of mine walked up to me and asked me: "What is a good woman?" I replied "you would know if you were a good man" He said "Stop joking I really wanna know" "There is no definite answer, but when you meet one, it will show" There are many characteristics that make a good woman, but it would take days to speak them all Since my friend brought this to mind, I thought I would list a few for y'all A woman who is proud of what she brings and won't complain over petty things A woman who is well spoken and not opposed to listening because communication is key from the beginning A woman who is wise and able to realize the pit you are in doesn't matter because she will help your rise A woman who wouldn't try to control her man but also wouldn't be a doormat And when trouble comes up, her feet won't be flat (she's ready to go) A woman who never stops believing in the man that you are and the man you can become So much confidence in you, it almost makes her seem dumb A virtuous woman who prays for you more than she prays for herself Remembering God is number one above all else A woman who tries to pay for herself before you can offer Knowing the difference between selfless and selfish is something you should prefer A woman with the power of forgiveness But don't abuse it Because a good woman is not stupid She will lose it You will lose her and have no one to blame when your heart takes the hit If you hurt a good woman, in my eyes, you aren't worth the saliva I spit The ice cream no one would lick The one that gets thrown down in hope ants would leave a picnic To pick apart your existence Use your common sense Realize what's in front of you and cherish it Woman is the title a female receives at a certain age But it takes a good man to realize a good woman is on the next page I'm not saying a good woman needs to have this quote for quote I don't think any woman does, if so, let me know I haven't met any besides my family, but I don't go down that road I'm being patient, waiting for my good woman is giving me time to grow So I can give her the best Brandon Everett Davis, the world doesn't know To not be on their level, would be a sin Let's become better men for these good women

Eid's faithful whispers
Children get handed things easily, and they learn that it's easier to throw away than to hold on and keep it. Adults are very different, they cherish things and would not objectify others since humans are not things. But right there, throwing you away like an object, the man who was no longer a child said; "I don't want you anymore"

If I could look into your eyes, I would tell you how I feel. If I could look into your eyes, you would see that I'm for real. If I could look into your eyes, you would see I adore you most. If I could look into your eyes, at the same time I'd hold you close. My heart is a lock, but my darling, you are the key. I admire you so much, you just don't know what you do to me! Tell me what you want. Your wish is my command. When the chips are down, then by your side is where I'll stand. I don't care about your present. I don't care about your past. All I want is a chance to be with you is all I ask. I watch you from a distance. I desire your affection, but when you look my way I have to look in another direction. I try to gather my thoughts. I try to make a way; but when I see you, I loose control, not knowing what to say. How could I come across to get my point of view? I wonder if you even know that I have a crush on you. I adore everything you do. I cherish everything that you say. You make me blush, smile, laugh, and sing...you surely make my day! My whole day could be bad. I could be sad and blue, but you change it all just by simply looking at you. So I hope you get this letter; being with you is my only wish. I will now close this letter and I seal it with a kiss. Please accept my letter, for your affection I desire. Signed, sealed, delivered, it is I, your secret admirer.

My darling, For 2016: 1.) I hope you know you have nothing to prove. 2.) Please stop wanting to end life early. Every sunrise is made for you. Realize that every night the moon kisses you good night and the stars ask that you choose to stay. 3.) I hope you find time to be more grateful. 4.) I hope the world surprises you with beautiful things in return. I hope what is normal never becomes boring to you, and you always see things with a sense of wonder. I hope you still believe in magic. 5.) If it’s past midnight and you’re still awake for no reason, go to sleep. Rest. Clear your head. You will have more strength tomorrow. 6.) Stop hiding behind your sadness. Wipe your tears, let it go. Learn how to be alone without hurting. 7.) Learn to actually be there for people. You will be amazed how good real companionship feels. Believe me, you don’t appreciate your friends enough. Show them. Share your life with them. Be happy together. 8.) Cherish that guy. He loves you; stop doubting it. Be there for him, not because he needs you, but because that’s where you want to be. Protect each other. 9.) I think you already know who you are, deep inside. And it’s not how you think of yourself on a bad day; it’s not how greatly others think of you. You’re confused now but you’re trying. One day you will be greater than all of this, and you won’t even realize it. 10.) I hope this is the year you become everything you want to be, but with a heart like yours, you will always want more: to do more good in the world; to be better, kinder; love deeper, love truly. Despite your struggle, I hope you realize you’re already all you must be. 11.) Continue to live in the best way you know how.

A white porcelain coffee cup she gently raises up to her lips with a satiated look on her face; this gift, a much awaited moment attained by satisfying her yen not for choicest, gourmet food alone. Those dark droopy eyes, suggest a luxurious languor, she does cherish, as long as the after tremors would last. Slyly she looks at his swollen red lips with a crafted guilt, it gives her yet another high, sending ripples over her ******* his eyes do a recce on this then go up to her lips, finds his ardor last hour had  made them crimson all over, throwing his head backwards he smiles at her.

Sometimes I think of killing myself How the end would be so nice How the darkness would swallow me up And how the numbness would suffice My need For all the voices of the feelings That constantly keep me reeling To softly slow to a hush As my brain starts tur-tur-turning into mush How wonderful it would be To have that powerful silence Not even grasshoppers would bother To wake me My cells would stop dividing My brain would stop the lying Myself would stop denying What I truly want But but but This is just a reckless fantasy A way to elude one’s own reality Because as I sit here on the floor Tears drip drip dropping I realize there’s those who care for me more Cherish me more Love me more Than I love my own self The crickets chirp I put the pills down

Her hands held on to His fingerprints on The other side of the glass Window that divided them Left her longing for A moment to grasp And cherish him and her And what they never were And while she watched His back turn to her She conquered the familiar Sense of holding back And with her fingers she wrote The words in the dust he left On the window. She whispered “Look back and see” I love you

Sometimes I wonder why I adore you. You probably wonder why I adore you too. Some people might say something like, It's because I like the way the light hits your face and your hair is perfect even on bad hair days. It's because you're so beautiful. Every inch of you is gorgeous. Your body is magic. I like when you put your hands in all the wrong places. You're the perfect height for me to kiss your forehead. That your lips are nice too, and you're a perfect kisser. That your smile is flawless. Or maybe it's really because, I relate to you better than anyone else on earth... You're beautiful on the inside. If I could only have you back in exchange for going blind... Every inch of you is gorgeous, but the person inside of you is what I can't let go of... Your mind is the real magic, you were never just a pretty face to me...though your face is very pretty. I like more when we had intellectual talks about things, so much more than the ****** That while I love the taste of your lips, I don't need them to survive... That I can see the pain behind your smiles, but I see the joy in the real ones too... I adore you because I love all of it. In one view, you are only a lover... In another view, you're the best friend I've ever had... I'd do anything to have you back in my life again... Back in my arms again... Because I'd take you as a sister if I had to... I'd stay away from your lips, though, I'd wrap you up in my arms, for you deserve the warmth, Because you deserve as many hugs as you can get...and I'd kiss you on the forehead because you mean something to me, and I'd pretend it's nothing more... I love you. I need you. I want you. I miss you. I'm sorry. I'll do anything. I'll climb mountains. I'll be waiting until the day I die for you. If only you would see... That I'd still come visit you When you're out on your own, Or someday when you're with your husband, That I'd hide all my pain, If you'd only let me back in... Because I love you. I love you with the kind of love I'll never be able to explain to you. I don't have to wonder why I adore you. I cherish you more than anything, for good reason. But you surely don't feel the way you used to, anymore.

TWO loves had I. Now both are dead, And both are marked by tombstones white. The one stands in the churchyard near, The other hid from mortal sight. The name on one all men may read, And learn who lies beneath the stone; The other name is written where No eyes can read it but my own. On one I plant a living flower, And cherish it with loving hands; I shun the single withered leaf That tells me where the other stands. To that white tombstone on the hill In summer days I often go; From this white stone that nearer lies I turn me with unuttered woe. O God, I pray, if love must die, And make no more of life a part, Let witness be where all can see, And not within a living heart.

Dead Love
I love you, The best is yet to come. Don't scramble, Let us plan our lives. We have it in our hands, Luck and destiny will bend before us. Yes we toil for it, Both of us will put efforts. Don't be scared dear, Just hold my hand firmly. What we can't individually do, Together we will manage it all. The sun in our sky has risen, It will reach higher up above. Not burning it will emblazon, Just shining away all darkness. How differences of ours remain, We won't let them become large. And yes, today I tell you darling, Two different individuals we are. So many of differences will ripen, But how we treat them is unto us. We can't let them become so large, The love we share is much bigger. Just practice perseverance my love, Stay strong & toil hard we both will. Not breaking mountains we must be, Still challenging stay all our methods. Zest of ours must not fail in this spirit, Zealous we voyage on in the sea of life. We both have that passion in ourselves, Helping people parry off all the dangers. Never would we worry about our past, For we both cherish the lessons learnt. Odds will often rise between both of us, We won't let them disunite us any day. This love I feel is a bit experienced, And my experience tells me a lot. We must never fall out separate, Because together we're happy. Differences do not invite rifts, Neither should we let them...

when in the stillness, I cannot hear your breathing
Every person you meet, see, talk to, give a single thought to is going to affect you. So don't give thought to those who are not worth it. But keep the ones you give thought to close, hold them tight, cherish them. Because they think about you to.
